  • Do the incoming calls on your Android phone

  • go straight to voicemail?

  • This could happen for several reasons.

  • In this video, we'll give you five possible methods

  • of troubleshooting this issue.

  • These steps may vary slightly,

  • depending upon your Android model.

  • We will be using an LG 40 ThinQ phone.

  • First, check to make sure

  • that your phone is not set to do not disturb,

  • which sends all of the calls directly to voicemail.

  • Pull down your phone's control center

  • by swiping down from the top of the screen.

  • Then make sure that the do-not-disturb icon

  • is not enabled.

  • Your phone's call-blocking feature

  • may be accidentally blocking phone numbers

  • that you want to receive.

  • You can turn this off in your phone app.

  • Start the phone app.

  • Tap the three dots at the top of the screen.

  • In the drop-down menu, choose "Settings" or "Call settings."

  • Then select "Call blocking & Decline with message,"

  • and then "Blocked numbers."

  • Remove any phone numbers from the list

  • that you don't want to immediately send to voicemail

  • by clicking on the small trash-can icon

  • at the top of the screen,

  • then selecting "Remove" at the bottom of the screen.

  • Some Android phones allow you

  • to automatically forward your calls

  • to another number or to voicemail.

  • Start the phone app.

  • Tap the three dots at the top of the screen.

  • In the drop-down menu,

  • choose "Settings" or "Call settings."

  • Choose "Calls" or "Additional settings,"

  • tap "Other settings,"

  • then tap "Call forwarding,"

  • and finally turn off any of the four listed options:

  • "Always forward," "Busy,"

  • "Unanswered," and "Unreachable."

  • If you recently changed your SIM card,

  • remove the card and reinsert it

  • to make sure it's set correctly.

  • A damaged SIM card could also be the issue.

  • In that case, the best option is

  • to contact your cellular provider

  • and request a replacement SIM card.

  • If none of these suggestions work,

  • there may be a problem with your cellular service

  • and not your phone.

  • Check a coverage map from your provider

  • to see if you have reliable service in that area

  • or test your service with another phone.

  • If your coverage is very weak,

  • incoming calls can go straight to voicemail.
