  • Did you guys hear the potential weather forecast for today?

  • Snow? Possible.

  • It's possible.

  • This year there's a lot of snow possible.

  • [Life in Japan Theme Song]

  • What's going on outside Sarah?

  • It's snowing. It's snowing!

  • Let's see.

  • Oh my goodness. That is like for real!

  • For real!

  • Sweet! How awesome is that!

  • How cold it is. It's cold too, huh?

  • Sweet!

  • Oh, this. I love to see it! It's snowing, it's snowing, it's snowing.

  • Will it accumulate at all? I don't know.

  • But the fact that it's snowing just warms my heart.

  • Oh, they get to play soccer in the snow.

  • It's snowing! Oh my goodness!

  • So, we are going to go to a conbini to pay some bills and buy some more milk,

  • Then we can have some hot chocolate later.

  • Scooting in the snow.

  • Wait, I caught a snowflake.

  • It's like balls of it.

  • You can't tell how much it's snowing, but it's fun.

  • Everyone who lives in Tokyo, this is so fun because it hardly ever snows here.

  • I'm sure if you live in Hokkaido you see snow all the time so it's not as special.

  • But for us its fun!

  • Dude, if this keeps up, let me tell you what, dude.

  • If this keeps up, we are going to have some snow on the ground.

  • How exciting and awesome.

  • This is crazy! I'm glad I don't have to walk far in this though.

  • I can imagine the people who drove to work and have to drive back tonight? Oh my goodness.

  • Oh, what did you get? Snow?

  • It's so snowy

  • Ohh, it's beautiful!

  • On days like these I'm very thankful for our heaters that keep us warm.

  • In America the heating goes through the whole house and you put one temperature.

  • But the nice thing about having room by room is that if you want it a little warmer where you are, you can have it.

  • As I was working, the snow kept pilling up outside.

  • Soon I decided to go check and see how the rest of the family was, because I was sure they were up to something fun and I didn't want to miss out!

  • Our kids are having so much fun in the snow.

  • The kids are playing with their friends at the park.

  • Oh my goodness.

  • Hey Sarah. What do you have?

  • Are you making a snowman?

  • Here's the body

  • Let's see.

  • Oh my goodness. So cool.

  • I made it all by myself.

  • You're getting it anywhere you can, huh?

  • Yeah, its very muddy on the ground.

  • Oh fun.

  • They're having a snowball fight.

  • A snowball fight!

  • You got me!

  • I love the snow.

  • It has a certain smell to it. Its like a fresh, cool smell.

  • It is really snowing now!

  • Look at our road!

  • Isn't it beautiful?

  • You're making a scooter path.

  • We're taking the snowball for a ride.

  • Look at all the people's cars!

  • Look at those cars! Oh my goodness!

  • Oh look how beautiful this is.

  • It's like a winter wonderland.

  • Look at it. Its oranges and snow.

  • And look at all my little holly and snow.

  • So beautiful.

  • Oh no! The snowman, you have to make it.

  • Here, make it right here Sarah on our step.

  • Put it right there on the ground.

  • Put that one on top.

  • Look at all that snow on you!

  • Are you so wet?

  • Yeah, I got snow burnt. You got snow burnt?

  • Yeah. What, you're just so cold.

  • Yeah, that makes me burnt.

  • Oh no, you're ok. I'm sure you're not burnt.

  • There he is.

  • Ok, lets go inside for now.

  • He's cute.

  • What is up here guys?

  • Box.

  • A box?

  • From Grandma. From Grandma?

  • Oh my goodness. What's in the box?

  • Let's open it! Get scissors.

  • Goodness.

  • I see Mario peeking through.

  • Oh boy.

  • Wow. Did we get some pajamas?

  • Oh my goodness.

  • Oh, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups? My goodness.

  • Oh Joshua, these are nice and warm for you.

  • Size 6/7.

  • Oh my goodness, you are getting so big!

  • Poppy seeds.

  • What do you have Rebecca?

  • Is this a Christmas ornament? A Christmas ornament? Oh, it didn't make it in time, did it.

  • Whoa! Candies? These are all for me!

  • No, they are not all for you!

  • They are definitely not all for you.

  • This is mine.

  • Whoa, some T-shirts?

  • Is this for me?

  • That looks like it's probably from Aunt Susan, huh?

  • Sarah's trying her shirt on. Whoa Sarah that looks great honey.

  • Very cool.

  • Snow rarely, if ever, collects on the roads and the streets here.

  • So here we go. I'm going to go for a little stroll and see what everything looks like.

  • What's good to eat? Ramen. Ramen!

  • On a cold, snowy day.

  • Ramen.

  • Ramen.

  • Did you know that you can get snow burnt?

  • You can get snow burn?

  • His hands got so frozen that they were burning.

  • They were burning.

  • My hands were burning.

  • That means it was so freezing cold it was almost going to be ice I think, right mommy?

  • Yeah, kind of.

  • Early the next morning I headed to Paz Coffee Shop and found that things were not as they were the day before.

  • These roads here are pure ice.

  • Just listen to it crackle as I walk.

  • Pure ice is not a good thing to be walking on.

  • Yes, the streets in Tokyo were covered in ice the next morning.

  • We would have to rely on the sun to go to work, thawing everything in its path,

  • because Tokyo does not typically have to worry about snow and ice so it doesn't have proper road treatment.

  • Transportation that morning was a bit more stressful than normal.

  • It's a beautiful day in Japan.

  • We are slipping a little here.

  • Everything that snowed turned to ice. Oh my goodness.

  • Lookout. Watch out!

  • Everybody cleaning up the table so we can have breakfast. Oh yeah.

  • Daddy has his computer here? Uh oh.

  • Who gave me coffee? Somebody was nice and gave you coffee?

  • I'm going to drink it, ok?

  • That's Momma-chan's, you don't even think about drinking it. That's right.

  • Don't mess with Momma's coffee.

  • What do you think. What would it be like if you did a day in the life of Momma-chan?

  • Oh, everyone would sleep well. They would be tired by the end of my day.

  • The awaited moment has arrived.

  • That's dangerous. I will put it on your plate.

  • Put that on my plate.

  • Please.

  • Please! Anna is so patient.

  • Good job. Good job patient Anna.

  • It was on video too. Yay. Oh yay!

  • It will be forever remembered.

  • What? If it's in the video.

  • Don't put it in the video.

  • Just kidding. Just put it in the video.

  • Hey, hey! Wait, did we pray yet?

  • Who's going to pray? Me.

  • 3, 2, 1, Everybody fold your hands.

  • Dear Jesus, thank you for this wonderful food...

  • Help this day to be good.

  • And help this great food to be good.

  • In Jesus' name, amen!

  • Everybody fold your hands. Amen! Again?
