  • - Hi, my name is Nina Dobrev.

  • - I'm Andrew Zimmern.

  • - I'm Chris Bosh.

  • - I'm Martha Stewart.

  • - I'm John Scherer, aka, Mythical Chef Josh.

  • - Kwame Onwuachi.

  • - Garbine Muguruza.

  • - Catherine Zeta-Jones.

  • - Carla Lalli Music.

  • - I'm Awkwafina, and this is everything I eat in a day.

  • - The first thing I do when I wake up every morning

  • is pretty unsexy.

  • I have to take a pill.

  • So I always make sure that I take the pill

  • the second I wake up, and the first 30 minutes of my day,

  • I do the getting dressed, showering, brushing my teeth

  • so that 30 minutes go by and then I could eat breakfast.

  • - I'm not a big breakfast person.

  • I don't wake up and think,

  • oh, I've got to eat straight away.

  • And I also,

  • I'm not a coffee person.

  • I don't even like coffee.

  • I don't like the way it tastes.

  • I don't even like the way it smells.

  • - I don't like dessert for breakfast,

  • so I'm not really into French toast and pancakes

  • and all that kind of thing.

  • This morning for breakfast,

  • I had two slices of brisket with a little bit of gravy

  • on a piece of sourdough toast.

  • - I have an 18-minute routine.

  • It takes me exactly 18 minutes

  • from when I wake up to get out the door.

  • I immediately hop in the shower.

  • I'm probably washing my entire body

  • with Garnier Fructis shampoo on my loofah.

  • 'Cause I don't know.

  • I'm that stereotypical person.

  • - So first of all, my egg's gotta be over easy,

  • little runny.

  • Yes.

  • Salt, pepper, period.

  • And then my potatoes.

  • Okay, I'm gonna tell everybody my secret ingredient.

  • So I use sazon. I use sazon on everything, okay.

  • - But there is few days of the year where I can,

  • you know, allow myself to eat

  • everything that I don't eat during the year.

  • And then I would have some pancakes

  • or French bakery that I love.

  • But that's few days of the year only.

  • - There is no typical lunch for me.

  • It could be anything from sushi to a cheeseburger.

  • Chicken breast and vegetables with some starch.

  • You know, it's whatever I crave, really, is what I eat.

  • - The craziest part about lunch for me

  • is that it can be anything at any time.

  • And some days, I don't even know till I actually get there.

  • I'll pretty much try to snack on whatever I've made,

  • but sometimes those things

  • aren't exactly something you can sit down for.

  • For instance, when I made candy canes around the holidays.

  • Other times, though, it's just this big, giant burger

  • that I can sit down and eat after I finish filming.

  • - I'm kind of a sandwich junkie,

  • so I'll take a sandwich from anywhere.

  • That includes both hot dogs and hamburgers.

  • They are both sandwiches.

  • The Italian grinder from the local deli,

  • the fried chicken sandwich

  • from the Fried Chicken Palace down the street.

  • - There are a lot of people that are like,

  • "I ate a yogurt for lunch."

  • And it's like, what, you want an award?

  • You think you're awesome?

  • I'm not one of those people that it's like,

  • you eat spaghettis and meatballs at 3:00 AM?

  • I'll eat spaghetti and meatballs at 9:00 AM, dude.

  • - Oh, my God, the Swedish meatballs.

  • - Keto Swedish meatballs.

  • - Funny story about the Swedish meatballs.

  • The gravy that came in them,

  • I thought it was mashed potatoes,

  • and I was just eating the gravy,

  • just like as a regular meal.

  • - I'm not a big snacker, except for anything chocolate.

  • For me, chocolate is a real treat.

  • I deserve it.

  • - So whenever I know someone is going over to

  • the UK or Europe, I'm like,

  • "Please pick up some Peanut M&M's from duty free."

  • I had a bag that was given to me, like a two-pound bag.

  • And when I have the M&M's,

  • I'll just reach in and I get like three or four

  • and I just had the last one yesterday.

  • (groans)

  • I'm squeezing the bag.

  • I'm like, oh!

  • There was one M&M hanging out in the corner.

  • - So this is Lil' Nitro,

  • the world's hottest gummy bear.

  • - Are you not scared?

  • - You don't know who I am, or something?

  • (laughing)

  • - World's hottest gummy bear.

  • Oh, no.

  • (coughing)

  • (laughs) Don't touch your eyes.

  • (laughing)

  • - I may snack on popcorn. (laughs)

  • I love popcorn.

  • - My favorite snack is popcorn.

  • And my really favorite way to have it is alone.

  • I don't love to share my popcorn.

  • - It's a routine.

  • It's a way of life.

  • So you toast the brown bread,

  • take it out, let it cool down,

  • and then take Marmite

  • and slather it on so there's loads of Marmite on there,

  • and like all the way to the edges,

  • and then big chunks of cheese on top.

  • And then I grill that till it's toasty,

  • and then take that out,

  • and while it's bubbling,

  • just allow it to cool just enough

  • so you don't burn your mouth.

  • Always cut it into triangles.

  • I'm not into the whole straight down the middle.

  • That's weird.

  • Triangle.

  • And then always a pickled onion.

  • (exhales) So good.

  • There's no green in there at all.

  • - I like strange snacks.

  • - It's meat.

  • (laughs) It is a bag of meat!

  • - No, it's filet mignon chips.

  • I order strange, exotic snacks from different countries

  • from this man in Arizona.

  • His name is Pop's Exotic.

  • He has every rare snack you can think of.

  • If he doesn't have it, you can ask him for it,

  • and he'll find it for you.

  • That really tastes like steak.

  • - It tastes like a lot like steak.

  • - How did they do that?

  • - In terms of getting hungry or hangry, I don't.

  • - Yes, I am someone that gets hangry.

  • I believe we all get a little hangry sometimes.

  • Talk to your friend about being hangry.

  • - I actually don't get hangry.

  • I think I actually get full-gry.

  • Like, if I eat a ton on set,

  • especially a bunch of greasy food, and I'm just like,

  • got a belly full of like processed meats and fried food,

  • I get kind of like angry when I'm asked to do things.

  • So no, I don't get hangry.

  • I get full-gry.

  • - I'm not too hangry 'cause I'm like reasonable.

  • I'll stop at 7-Eleven and go get me like,

  • I'll eat anything.

  • Like, I'll eat the torquita from 7-Eleven

  • and put hot sauce on it

  • and my stomach will be good for next couple hours.

  • - Dinner, that's the meal where, absolutely no yogurt.

  • You know what I mean?

  • Like, you can't have a yogurt for dinner.

  • My dinners, they're humongous.

  • - I have a couple of go-to's,

  • but I love, love, love trying new recipes.

  • I'll crack open a cookbook

  • and one of my favorites is Chrissy Teigen's cookbook.

  • I'll just close my eyes and flip the pages

  • and then just stop at one page, and whatever it says,

  • I'll go out and grab the ingredients

  • and try to make whatever it is

  • and destroy my kitchen in the process.

  • - My favorite, favorite dinner dish

  • that I can eat it every day is my papaya salad

  • with warm chili noodles.

  • Sometime, I add some shrimp in there.

  • Lots of vegetable, lettuce on the side.

  • I can live with that every day.

  • - My favorite meal to cook

  • would be anything you throw in the barbecue.

  • In the grill, everything tastes good, no matter what.

  • You can throw fish, veggies, chicken, meat, burgers.

  • You're safe.

  • Like, you can't go wrong, and it's easy on top of that,

  • so I'm a barbecue master.

  • - The other night, I grilled like a three,

  • three-and-a-half-pound fish.

  • And in one bowl, I had roasted red peppers

  • that I charred in the fireplace.

  • - A few simple dinner ideas

  • that I make with the kids all the time

  • are classic things like a big whole roast chicken.

  • I have this recipe I got from a friend

  • that is sort of a Greek-style roast chicken.

  • It's a whole chicken.

  • - Take a whole stick of unsalted butter,

  • the best butter like Plugra or Kerrygold.

  • Nice, nice butter.

  • But it has to be room temperature.

  • And you slather it all over the skin of the chicken.

  • - That's like a Costco chicken, right?

  • The entire chicken, right?

  • And then you put that

  • with all kinds of Annie's mac and cheese and all kinds,

  • I'll eat all kinds of things for dinner.

  • - Then right before your guests arrive, one hour before,

  • you put that butter-slathered chicken

  • into a 425-degree oven for one hour.

  • It was the most delicious chicken.

  • - Okay, let me tell you about the air fryer.

  • I've had an air fryer for two years.

  • During the pandemic, when we had to keep cooking,

  • I'm like, "I know we have an air fryer."

  • We go up to the attic and dust off this box

  • that had been there for two years.

  • It's like finding religion.

  • You become a disciple of the air fryer.

  • So you want to get everybody into the air fryer game.

  • Even though an air fryer is a glorified toaster oven,

  • but then when you get a toaster oven, it is not the same.

  • I should do an air fryer commercial.

  • - I'm not really a dessert person, honestly.

  • It's just ice cream, if anything, just a scoop of ice cream.

  • Jeni's Ice Cream.

  • Jeni's is it for me for ice cream.

  • It's just solid.

  • It's just, it's so creamy.

  • I love the brambleberry crisp.

  • They have this everything bagel ice cream flavor

  • that is surprisingly delicious.

  • I have like six flavors downstairs right now in my freezer.

  • - I will take four pints of ice cream

  • and I'll pop them all in the microwave

  • for a couple seconds to loosen them up,

  • and then I will take a spoon

  • and I will eat like two bites of each

  • and then revisit my favorite one

  • and then make sure that's my last bite,

  • and then put that back in the freezer.

  • And that's my favorite thing to do.

  • - If I am to eat dessert,

  • cheesecake or ice cream is probably my preference.

  • If you wanna make me feel like a kid again,

  • you could even throw me a ice cream cake

  • and I really might go crazy on it.

  • - Just the other day,

  • I baked two big Sally Lunn babka bread.

  • A slice of that is light and fluffy.

  • It's delicious slightly toasted,

  • and it makes the best, the best breakfast bread pudding.

  • - Ice cream is just across the board.

  • I'm just a huge ice cream lover.

  • And of course, how could I forget my mother's apple pie,

  • the only other great thing she can cook.

  • Coupled with a little scoop of ice cream,

  • and I'm a really, really happy woman.

  • Some people say,

  • do you live to eat or do you eat to live?

  • I'm somewhere in between.

  • That's everything I eat in a day.

  • Enjoy.

  • (upbeat music)
