  • Yeah, we have stayed a couple nights at the canopy by Hilton in downtown Austin.

  • And overall we really loved this hotel.

  • It was in a great location.

  • We have lots of room.

  • It's very modern.

  • We really enjoyed the food.

  • The beds were super comfortable but there was like some little things that you know, we were like, oh this could be better but we want to give you a tour of our room and give you an overview of everything as we're going through.

  • So first of all this is the bedroom very spacious and the modern design is very cool.

  • This bed was so comfortable.

  • I slept like a baby both nights.

  • Um, there was some noise because we're in a downtown area so you're in a great location with lots of bars and food and entertainment.

  • But the only thing is at night they still keep on playing the music as long as you're away from the street you won't hear the noise as much.

  • But that being said, we did still hear some muffled noise from the bars playing music We were hearing on Sunday and Monday night, Sunday night I did hear a little bit, but they went off at 10 and then last night actually didn't hear it at all.

  • So I guess it really depends on what night you're here on the weekends.

  • I imagine they'll play them in music louder and longer.

  • So just keep that in mind.

  • The awesome thing about this hotel is that their pet friendly, So cool.

  • I got to come with us and they provide a dog bowl and a dog but you have to request it but they do provide it for you and I always appreciate that they have two accent chairs that I utilized for putting my suitcase on and I'll buy luggage and right now in particular since we're going on the road trip um I have a lot of luggage that I have to carry along with me and I try to take all my luggage inside with me because I just don't trust it in the car.

  • Should always be careful.

  • So yeah this is a two queen sized bedroom and in the middle we had a little console here with the phone, T.

  • V.

  • Remote.

  • We also had lots of outlets here.

  • And then these lights, these switches actually controlled the lights that was above our beds which was nice.

  • So like one of us went to bed early then we can um turn our light off but then the other person can have their light on so these outlets um most of them weren't but there were like two USB ports here that did not work.

  • But in the end it's like we already have like four other outlets and two other USB ports so it's like what am I really complaining about?

  • And on the other side here is the big tv seemed like we had a good selection of channels, we watch the local news all the time.

  • We really like the Austin um Local weatherman, he was super cool.

  • Uh he would always have these cool sayings like, oh it's double trouble or you better put on some hair gel because Wendy today.

  • So I really like that guy.

  • So here also is some more outlets and you have two USB ports, those all worked.

  • And then we got a little gift bag when we came in because I believe you have to be a certain status member to get this Hilton status member, but if not, you know, they might just get this out anyway, I'm not 100% sure, but we got a couple of granola bars, which these actually look really good.

  • We also got a cute little Austin key chain and then we also got to uh flavored carbonated water, it's called Big Swig and then if you want to separate it, something close off the bathroom, you can too with this nice, nice door, nice sliding dark and I was like, what's going on?

  • Alright, so I'm gonna show you the rest of the room and this is the coffee station, an espresso machine.

  • I didn't use it, but crystal did unfortunately, which this is so odd.

  • The plug here, it does not work.

  • It's basically like shut off.

  • I mean we tried so hard to stick this in here both ways did not work.

  • So they eventually had to move this over to the bathroom, which um, it's a little inconvenient because we really had our makeup stuff laid out how to push everything over.

  • So yeah I'm not sure if they are aware that this outlet is not working but in any case you know it's nice that they had an espresso available.

  • They also had t available and I was glad that they had t I'm a fan of the camomile tea and to help save the environment instead of providing water bottles, they provided this bottle and then you can walk down the hallway where you get the ice.

  • They also have a machine there for filtered water.

  • So we um we actually utilize this quite a bit um to fill the espresso machine or to refill our water bottles like for kuma and also from when we go out we just refill our bottles.

  • So that's nice.

  • I don't think there was anything in this drawer.

  • Oh no that was the safe was here.

  • And then the fridge here is a little bit different, it's a drawer and I love this wardrobe station, It came in so handy.

  • And then a huge area right here we can lay your suitcase which I laid mine down over here and they don't have an ironing board but they do have a steamer and that's the laundry requests and they're the ones empty.

  • So excuse me.

  • And I think this is probably down here if you want to put your shoes and then we hung all our coats here and then there is a long mirror right here and I love that This was here.

  • So you can place your keys and cards.

  • The only and sunglasses.

  • The only thing is this is broke.

  • So, um, if you did place any, most things like it would just slide off.

  • They probably need to fix this in the bathroom is really nice.

  • We've noticed, um, with Hilton, like all the Hiltons we've been to in the past year, they all have this mirror where the light, um, it's like almost like a ring mirror with the light.

  • It's amazing because it's so easy for us women to do our makeup, plenty of room Also.

  • We also like these, uh, these shelves here, we did utilize this to put all of our, you know, toiletries and stuff here.

  • I utilized this mirror.

  • I have really bad eyesight and I do my makeup before I put on my contacts so I can't really use this big mirror, but I use this and it was perfect.

  • But these really bright lights, I'm using that plenty plenty of towels.

  • We actually, um, since they don't do room service right now, you just have to call and ask for extra things.

  • We asked for one extra towel and they brought like an extra like five towels.

  • So they're very generous with their towels and not, they're not stingy.

  • The toiletries were very basic, which is fine, but I have to say, I think this is the first Hilton I've been to where I disliked there, the brand that they're using these bottles, they're so hard to use.

  • It's the kind of, it's like stiff, I could barely get the lotion out.

  • You're doing this all the time and trying to squeeze it.

  • Like I hated the lotion bottles, even the shampoo conditioner, like you're in the shower, you're trying to like get it out and yeah, I'm not a big fan of those toiletries in the bathroom.

  • Large shower.

  • I think, I think there's plenty of room in here.

  • I like showers like this, so I never take a bath at a hotel.

  • So I'd rather have standing showers like this.

  • Um The only thing I will say probably not for crystal, but for me, the water pressure was kind of week, it was average.

  • I didn't think it was strong enough.

  • I really like strong pressure um because I have really thick hair.

  • So I wash my hair.

  • Like if it's kind of wig, it takes forever to get all the shampoo and conditioner out.

  • One thing to when you walk in here, it automatically turns on the light so it's great at night if you can't see and like, but you know where the bathroom is, just kind of walking towards it and it just turns on.

  • So that's nice and then I think about the showers, it didn't really drain very well.

  • So not sure what's up with that with their plumbing, maybe that has something to do with the water pressure for Hilton usually we don't have those kind of issues.

  • So I'm a little bit surprised that they don't, they are getting to be instead of eight for this.

  • So yeah, overall, we really did love staying here.

  • They were just like a few quirks that we thought they could do a little bit better on or pay attention to.

  • Yeah, I will say ballet was super fast every single time.

  • Uh, so we did have to valet our car here.

  • There is no self parking, which we would much rather self park.

  • We just were the, I don't know like being able to get to my car or whatever, but since we're in Austin downtown, a lot of hotels are like this, you do have to pay a parking fee.

  • Most of them are valet And they're all about $50 a night.

  • So every time I would text, they basically give you a claim card that will tell you the number to call and the number to put.

  • And once I, once you do text them, I swear the car was always there within like five minutes.

  • So yeah, they were super fast with the, with the ballet here, which I really appreciate it.

  • All the employees were really nice.

  • Every time we left the hotel came back, they'd always greet us like, hey good morning or so.

  • Yeah, I really like that.

  • Everyone was friendly here and what we really loved was the restaurant here verbena is what it's called And we just fell in love with their flatbread, specifically the three cheese flatbread.

  • Oh my gosh, you have to get that.

  • Really, really good.

  • Fantastic decor in there and they had like a cool courtyard where you can relax in.

  • And that's where they had some dining as well.

  • They also do have a 24 hour fitness center here, but we did not utilize that.

  • We never use the fitness center when we're on vacation at hotel, we just don't have time.

  • So there is a great dog run area here.

  • Uh well it's called, they call a pet relief area and they have it inside the hotel, it's on the third floor and then you go outside and then there is this pet relief area with the fake grass and they have a dog way station to so they provide the bags.

  • So overall, we really enjoy this hotel.

  • There's lots of things to do around here.

  • The rooms were great, very comfortable.

  • Um you know, some little quirks but overall I think you know the positives outweigh the negatives and um the staff was perfect.

  • They were all great and um yeah, I just, I really do recommend staying here if you're gonna explore Austin in general um in Downtown Austin has a lot to offer.
