  • what has been the secret of your success because you've said before, I'm on my job is to get talent in the same room and you've also made a joke before that if you have, you fired all your biz development department, then you would be a layer two solution, which was a nice little nice little knock.

  • Their um, you've also brought in venture cap, I think you had a recent, early at $230 million raised recently when you sold tokens.

  • I mean these are all big strategic moves and again, you're constantly inviting in all sorts of other projects and helping them implement a vax, which takes a lot of manpower and creativity while you're trying to also build a technology solution that doesn't break.

  • I mean, you know, James Brown said you pay the cost to be the boss.

  • I mean you have to do a lot of things at the same time.

  • Can you speak on some of those uh, parts of you that allow you to be successful?

  • Yeah, I think, I think it's very simple actually.

  • So um, what I've done to the space is I've brought the cutting edge of distributed systems science to it.

  • That's really it and I brought it with a team that I tapped into that that hadn't been tapped into a tree.

  • Now a team of very brilliant researchers and developers.

  • So what did we do?

  • Well, we innovated on the platform side and I think I talked a little bit about the consensus protocol and the network architecture vision that that powers avalanche.

  • But in addition to that we went and innovated on the bridge side.

  • Our bridge uses SGX technology, I'm not aware of any other team that is in command of that technology that's using it for production are bridges fully trust liss and our bridge ends up ends up having about $5 billion in it today and it has a very, very nice user experience because uh it is, it is stress, is also uh it also is not accessible to you have the security architecture is uh, is quite good in the sense that there is no client access directly to the bridge.

  • So we will continue to plan and we continue to innovate, we plan to innovate across all fronts, we will bring new assets in, we bring new technologies in and behind my success has been that that sensibility to take um things that that actually work technologies that I know that work from the research space and we bring it in, we bring them in to block chains.

  • So that's really been the key to my success.

  • We've shied away from complicated rube Goldberg machines.

  • That's I think another thing there is a lot of tendency in this space to to take the latest shiniest objects, you know, the moon math, the craziest latest things that roll off the research space and put them into Blockchain form and that's something you could do, but usually the latest craziest stuff that rolls off the press typically has some, some issues with it that are not well understood.

  • So that's why, you know, we haven't really seen MvD FSB RFC, etcetera take off as much as as people thought they would.

  • And uh, so I think that sensibility is very important.

  • You know, there's, you want to be on the cutting edge, but you want to apply to it, some kind of outcomes razor.

  • Has this been proven in, in uh, in practice?

  • So I think that those two things combined have allowed me to build things that are cutting edge that actually work.

  • Uh huh.

what has been the secret of your success because you've said before, I'm on my job is to get talent in the same room and you've also made a joke before that if you have, you fired all your biz development department, then you would be a layer two solution, which was a nice little nice little knock.
