  • Think you can name your baby anything in the Land of the Free?

  • Think again!

  • Having any kind of numerals in your name is generally against the rules, so you can't

  • call your kids R2-D2 or C-3PO.

  • Some names are banned wholesale due to suggesting a title the person doesn't possess, or just

  • straight-up being offensive, like King, Queen, Adolf Hitler, Jesus Christ, Messiah, Santa

  • Claus, and the @ symbol.

  • But what about more specific state rules?

  • In Arkansas, there are laws against calling your baby Baby, Babyboy, Babygirl, Baby Boy,

  • Baby Girl, Infant, Test, Unk, and Void.

  • In California, you can't name your child anything derogatory or obscene.

  • Pictographs such as smiley faces or ideograms such as a “thumbs-upsign are also banned.

  • And in New York, your first name can't be over 30 characters.
