  • um let me ask you about Card a no it's the it was the third market cap of coins this week.

  • It's been going up between 3rd and 4th.

  • Had a pop.

  • We actually have Charles here on a couple of weeks.

  • I asked both my guests this week about cardigan.

  • Oh they both gave me some interesting answers.

  • I want to get your thoughts.

  • Is this going to be the next big chain?

  • Is it going to take all of these theories?

  • Market share?

  • Um I'm not asking you to predict the future.

  • But what's your what's your thoughts on Ada?

  • I think that it first, I don't think it takes ethereum market share and I think the notion of an ethereum killer is just another silly narrative in crypto and that's not a bad thing yet.

  • Again, I think there are other chains.

  • Everything will find its purpose and that the future is not choosing a chain.

  • It's the interoperability between all of them.

  • Right?

  • There's plenty of projects like cosmos that are finding ways for all these chains to speak to one another so that each of them can do the thing that they're the best at and none of them get congested.

  • So I do not think it or anything else will crush ethereum.

  • I think they'll just find their knishes and ethereum will as well.

  • That's one.

  • As for Card a no, it's a great story.

  • It could but there's no present evidence to believe that it will do those things yet.

  • That's not a bad thing.

  • But we've been hearing about smart contracts coming to Card a no effectively for years, right?

  • And it seems like that really will happen september 12th Alonso hard fork Charles Hoskins in last friday a week ago made that announcement that finally, you know, we have a date for this.

  • And so I think it remains to be seen.

  • I think the potential is absolutely massive.

  • They have a huge following.

  • Like you said, it's the third crypto by market cap right now.

  • I believe as we're talking about $2.50 it broke its, you know, previous all time high everything is heading in the right to run.

  • The question is, will that be yet another buy the rumor, sell the news opportunity when the, when the hard fork actually comes.

  • Um, so I think, uh, wait and see is the sensible approach with cardio.

  • I don't have a passionate feeling on it and I don't know why people do.

  • And this is what I, and that goes to almost every coin right?

  • That's not unique to them.

  • But when we see it in action and it's proven, let's get really excited about it.

  • And let's, you know, let's see the smart contracts and if they're superior until then it's a good trade, right?

  • It's a good, nice volatile trade.

  • It's, it's a great pump.

  • And uh, but then, you know, there's the flip side where people like call a coin a scam or this and that and that's also just equally as ridiculous, right.

  • They have a passionate developer community of great leader, He's brilliant, who understands what he's doing and they're probably building something great.

  • But prove it, prove it.

  • And I say that to every project, prove it.

  • Yeah.

  • The best line you just said in there was, it's a great story.

  • And if we think about what you just said there, it's kind of the story of crypto, I mean everything is a story, right?

  • It's, you know, humans love a story.

  • It's how we, we transferred knowledge for, you know, thousands of years of our history and cardinals a great story.

  • It also has a leader which no other big chain like that actually has.

  • Right.

  • And Charles is uh really well spoken, got a great track record, got a great cV right part of the theory.

  • Um um, he has a very different philosophy than metallic, both self admitted Metallica's the ship it and test it, Charles has to test the hell out of it and then ship it guy.

  • Um, everybody knows that They got a lot of people involved in the project and obviously a lot of money or a lot of market cap.

  • Um, and some great ideas and you know, I like Charles, his lives on YouTube.

  • They're fascinating.

  • He went on and talked about Afghanistan for 30 minutes the other day.

  • I'm looking forward to talking to him in a couple weeks.

  • But it was interesting to hear guys like dan Morehead say okay, but nothing shipped.

  • And if you think about all the developers and infrastructure, everything that's gone on ethereum and they've been around for, you know, 6789 years in the space.

  • They've seen the other 5000 would be card a nose never do anything.

  • And both of my guests were just there just like, you know what to try to replace what ethereum is done.

  • Uh one of my guests that it's like trying to pick up new york city and trying to put it in the middle of the desert, you know, it's not just about picking the buildings up.

  • It's it's every little thing that's been wired into that, that's been stress tested.

  • People have bought into.

  • So it's a great story.

  • If you're new to the markets, it sounds good.

  • Like there will be an evolution, right?

  • It's almost like a biblical thing, but like you said, I mean, you probably want to see the developers on a theory of the magnitude of how many more developers on the theory of than any of these other changes.

  • Pretty astounding.

  • That's where most of the things are being built.

  • So not only do you have to be better, we have to convince everyone who's building to come build with you instead of somewhere else kinda reminds me of the eighties when we had, you know, laser disc VHS and betamax and VHS was the inferior technology of the three.

  • But it's the one that one because it kind of had the market share and was the biggest name.

  • Betamax was superior to VHS and you know, we weren't luckily the family that bought one and then couldn't get any of the movies we wanted to see because it just out of business.

  • But a similar thing being the best technology and maybe Cardinal will be better.

  • It's only the beginning of the battle.

  • They then have to woo all of those developers in community over and have everybody start building everything they're building elsewhere on Cardinal.

  • That's challenging.

  • Maybe they'll do it.

  • Yeah, well said I I uh used to have a tech startup show here about seven years ago and the Ceos would come in and they say my product has to be 10 times better than the current competitor for me to to win.

  • And I always think 10 times better.

  • Like that's a big thing for a scrappy startup to do.

  • And they said that's the reality because of that network effect like you're talking about and one another guest this week said, think about Microsoft and again, I don't want to slam the company.

  • But if you look at their office software, which I don't have to because we're all Mac based here.

  • If you go look at it, it's that's not the best software in the world, you know, it's not the most cutting edge, but you know scott it's not gonna be replaced anytime soon because it's buried in the infrastructure, it's woven into the fabric of every corporate in the world and it's here to stay, even if it's not the best tech.

  • I agree.

  • 100%.

  • It's a perfect corollary.

  • And so listen, Ethereum Clunky.

  • It's expensive, ethereum has its issues, but it was their first and everyone's building on it.

  • So once you can change that, give me a call and I'm happy to have the conversation.

um let me ask you about Card a no it's the it was the third market cap of coins this week.
