  • Hi, I'm Christiana means I'm 23 years old.

  • I've been skating for 15 years and I'm on the Philippines Olympic team.

  • Since quarantine, I've decided to start a video project for my Youtube channel.

  • Oh snap From practicing Yoga to shooting a horror film.

  • This is one week in my life.

  • Mhm.

  • This video that I'm making is called a Battle Commander.

  • A battle commander was started by the barracks.

  • They are indoor training facility on California.

  • You turn out the lights, take spotlights and light up certain obstacles.

  • They're all very difficult tricks and they all have to be done in the dark, which I've never done.

  • I also really wanted to do this project with a friend but they passed away earlier this year and it means a lot to me to get it done.

  • Now.

  • On the first day I woke up made coffee.

  • I don't operate without coffee and stretched and did yoga with my cat.

  • Then I headed off to work.

  • We're gonna book it to work, it's my car, his name is Archie, Don't judge, he's the best Honda accord there is, I work at Finley hats, we are a hat company for extreme sports.

  • I love the people I work with, they're all very like minded people.

  • So my work days go by really quick, they're enjoyable and I get a skate at work, I am a pro skater, so usually my income comes from contest events, but since everything's canceled right now, this is what I got and I'm not gonna lie, I love it.

  • Quarantines slowed everything down for me.

  • I was able to spend time here in Portland, connect with my friends, focusing my time instead of just being all over the place around the world.

  • Home sweet home, those guys, my man's and my baby baby when I have down time, I like to draw, practice my filipino play UKulele.

  • I like to play video games.

  • It's really hard to play with.

  • Having some type of creative outlet is really helpful during this time.

  • So I've broken down this video into five nights of shooting every day after work.

  • I'll come in here and try and get at least three tricks a night to stay on course I need to land a tray flip and a back side flip on the hip, a tail slide to 70 shove a smith on the bump to ledge, a backside 50 50 big spin out.

  • A disaster in transition.

  • A fakey big spin disaster, revert out a backside tail, a front side flip, a full cab flip, a front side blunt, a wally backside 1 80 a kick flip backside 50 50 a feeble down the rail and a nose manual 1 80 out mm Night one.

  • I need to land a tray flip So you're rallying, doing a kick flip and a 360 at the same time and a backside flip on the hip.

  • It is back side because you are going blind side makes a little bit more difficult.

  • A tail slide to 70 shove on the bump to ledge, I'm going to slide across the ledge, do a 2 70 shove to push the board around and a smith on the bump to ledge as well.

  • One truck is going to stay on top while the other one hangs down low and it's a very stylish looking trick.

  • Yes, the first night went awesome.

  • Not only was I able to get three tricks but I got four and so that was a really big confidence booster and I felt like the first day was off to such a great start shout out to the most amazing boyfriend ever.

  • The film for this project has been my amazing boyfriend right now.

  • He has been dealing with the A.

  • It's been really challenging but we did, it IS 1:00 AM and it's time for bettering but we're going to get some sleep and we will talk to you tomorrow.

  • Good morning.

  • It is nine a.m. Right now and I'm getting ready to go work out.

  • Let's do this workout, talking with time.

  • Where's my water bottle?

  • It's 10 a.m. And we just got to the gym, this is DJ more, he's my personal trainer and we're about to get it.

  • We love working out so awesome.

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah it's a beautiful day out.

  • We just got done working out.

  • I feel great thank you Dude.

  • It after I was able to get some of my work done at home, I went to the Nike Park to start filming.

  • Yeah, okay, You need to land a backside 50, 50 big spin out shaper.

  • Mm mhm I'm going to approach the obstacle on my blind side, grind across and do a 360 with my board and 180 with my body And then a disaster in transition on a eight ft wall.

  • A disaster is when I go up to the transition, then my body 180 and not clip on the top.

  • We just finished filling for the night.

  • Super excited.

  • The night went so well.

  • I got two tricks today and on monday I got four.

  • So if I want to finish this project by the end of this week, I have to get three tricks a day.

  • So I'm on course I'm on track and it's going well.

  • Yeah, two of those tricks were brand new tricks.

  • I'm really excited.

  • Day two's are wrapped baby.

  • What's up today is day three, it's 10 a.m. And I woke up a little bit ago, days off from work called for delicious breakfast sandwiches, excited after breakfast.

  • I made sure I got in a good recovery session.

  • My phone roller is number one.

  • I like to use it.

  • My I.

  • T.

  • Band and my quads, my massage ball gets deeper into my calf and when I'm on the go for contests or filming projects, I like to use my massage gun.

  • It's really hard to go multiple days of skating without getting sore.

  • So recovery sessions bring that soreness down.

  • It is four o'clock in the afternoon and I'm getting ready to go meet up with a friend to build a short project.

  • All right, so I'm not with my makeup artist Sam and she is making me like nasty.

  • I actually love acting.

  • I think it's something I want to get into more often.

  • And if you haven't figured out yet, we're filming a skate horror ville.

  • It's fake.

  • Don't worry, it looked pretty real.

  • Right?

  • I'm gonna try and get this liquid latex out of my hair, should be a lot of fun.

  • And then went to the Nike Park to film the third night.

  • I need to land a backside tail.

  • I'm nervous.

  • I have to land a backside tail tonight and I'm not that great at landing them on camera.

  • Hopefully it'll get frustrated.

  • Hopefully I get more than one clip.

  • But if I get one clip, I'm stoked this is pretty challenging for me because backside tails are a new trick to me.

  • Filming in the Nike Park that night was really difficult.

  • I was not there mentally, I wasn't really there physically, but I managed to pull it off.

  • Mhm, Wow, that was landing a trick for the first time.

  • It's like maybe like a plus on your final exam, you just feel like after all the hard work you've put into, it was worth it all in that moment.

  • Day four, I woke up and worked out with my trainer again and I'm running late.

  • Yeah, understand, wow, that was a good session.

  • All right, there's a spider in my car.

  • Oh my gosh, after working out, I went to work.

  • Mhm While I was at work, I got to spend my lunch with my friend Michaela.

  • She's really cool and she's been my friend for a while, so healthy when it's slow at work or I have a break.

  • It's awesome to come over here and escape the mini ramp.

  • That looks so sick after work.

  • I went home to relax a little bit before we started filming Night four, I need the land of Fakey.

  • Big Spin disaster revert out, Fakih is riding backwards in your original stance, let your board do a 3 60 as you do 1 80 putting another 1 80 back into transition and rolling away a front side blunt.

  • The 3rd trick is a front side flip.

  • Mhm A front side flip is a kick flip with a 180 going your front side way and next a full cap flip.

  • A full cab flip is when you're approaching the obstacle.

  • Fakey do a kick flip and then do a 360 landing fakey back into transition.

  • The last trick is a wally 180.

  • A wall is a cool trick because I'm gonna let my wheels bunk off the obstacle and put a 180 into it.

  • I got five tricks which is super cool, big confidence booster and it made me feel like I was getting closer and closer to my goal.

  • Good morning, everyone happy friday, it is 10 a.m. And I woke up about 30 minutes ago, I've been pushing a lot for this project and I'm gonna take a lot of time to stretch this morning, I need it.

  • If not, I don't think it's gonna go well, hopefully it will and everything's gonna be fine.

  • Happy friday, it's gonna be good friday doing this project in a week, was actually really straining into my body since I feel like I have a lot on my mind, I think I'm gonna call it an early day from work, go home, take a nap, eat some good food and replenish my energy so I can be on my a game tonight Night five, our last day of filming, I was really nervous.

  • I was still three tricks away from my goal.

  • Um and one of these three tricks was a very technical trick.

  • I had to flip into a grind going into it.

  • I was not confident at all.

  • I was having a really bad skate session to be honest.

  • And then it worked out, yeah, filming that night went amazing.

  • I was able to keep my focus, put down everything very clean.

  • Yeah.

  • And that day I walked away feeling really accomplished.

  • I'm so excited.

  • I just landed my last final trick for this Battle Commander video and that's a wrap baby.

  • We did it.

  • Whoa!

  • Oh my gosh, it went so well.

  • Yeah.

  • And so now, after many hours of filming in the dark, in this warehouse, here's my Battle Commander video.

  • I had a blast filming it and having teen vogue followed me around this week.
