  • How's my hair?

  • Is it okay?

  • Today?

  • You like it?

  • I'm Ronnie.

  • I have something exciting that I want to tell you about.

  • It's a website, it's my website, it's called www.

  • Which means World Wide Web english with Ronnie dot com.

  • So what is this website?

  • It's amazing because you get to take lessons from me.

  • This isn't a course where I sell you something and you don't do it.

  • This is live one on one, practicing conversation skills with me.

  • How cool is that?

  • Okay.

  • The two options you have are you can do it online from the comfort of your own home.

  • You don't even have to wear pants.

  • Okay?

  • Do I wear pants?

  • It's hard to tell.

  • Um or you can also do it if you live in Toronto.

  • I am in Toronto.

  • Yes, I am.

  • And we can have classes in Toronto, uh a bar.

  • Oh yeah, we can drink a beer and have class.

  • We can have classes at a coffee shop.

  • We can go to the library to, if you want.

  • I don't know why you go to the library, but of course it's your class.

  • If you want to have classes in the library, at a pub, at a coffee shop, at a restaurant, we can do whatever you want.

  • So the number one thing that students or people are concerned about is the price.

  • They say, wow Ronnie, private lessons with.

  • You must be very expensive.

  • And I say, well, first of all, no, they are cheaper than a school and you think, well, how is that even possible?

  • How is a private teacher who focuses on you keeper than a school?

  • The # one reason is I don't charge you any tuition fees or text book or material fees.

  • So if you go to a school in any country of the world, they will charge you something ridiculous called tuition fees or application fees.

  • So you pay $200 for what?

  • Oh, here.

  • Sign your name.

  • Okay, that's $200 because I'm going to look at your papers, whatever.

  • I don't charge you that you jump onto my website.

  • English variety dot com.

  • You sign up, pay the money through Paypal or Western Union.

  • Don, there's me online with you practicing conversation.

  • I'll teach you everything you need to know.

  • But I don't charge you tuition fees, textbook material, Come on, textbooks, textbooks are useless.

  • Textbooks are awful.

  • They don't teach you, especially speaking, you can go to the library and get a text book and read it perfect.

  • I do not use textbooks why they're outdated.

  • They don't teach you.

  • It's not natural.

  • I teach you how to speak to people naturally because that's what you need.

  • So if you're struggling to get a good job in your country because you have to speak english, talk to me if you want to pass your aisles or your toefel or your toe IQ or any of these crazy sale pick tests.

  • Talk to me.

  • Don't waste your time at a school.

  • Schools charge you out the ass.

  • That means a lot of money for two things, tuition fees and the textbook fees.

  • Yeah.

  • So let's talk about a school.

  • Okay so once you've paid the fees then you actually go to the class.

  • Mhm.

  • You have to wake up, you have to take some form of transportation to the school.

  • Then you get there.

  • There's other people maybe these other people don't care about learning english.

  • Maybe they're just they're on their mummy and daddy's money because they can't do anything else in their country.

  • So their parents send them to language school and they are the worst people to study with because they waste time.

  • You need people around you that motivate you.

  • Other students can motivate you, but they also can drag you down, which means bring your ability to learn down.

  • Um with private lessons with me, it's only you and there's no other people, no one's distracting you, No one's asking stupid questions that you already know the answer to about grammar.

  • It's you, you study what you need.

  • So you have to sit in a classroom.

  • Oh, there's been so many um surveys, research papers done about the classroom environment.

  • When I go in a classroom, I feel like a fish out of water.

  • It's very small.

  • There's no air circulation.

  • There's other people, maybe they smell bad, maybe they have bad breath.

  • It's a very, very terrible environment to learn in bright lights, no oxygen.

  • So when I tutor you, you're in a very comfortable place at a bar at a coffee shop, you are relaxed.

  • You have a good time, classrooms, get out of the classroom, learn what you need to stop wasting your money paying corporations.

  • So we think that the school is like, oh wow, I'm going to go to the school and everyone's gonna care.

  • Schools only want your money.

  • Schools are a number, You are a number to the school where your student number.

  • That's what you are.

  • I know I've taught in these schools for years and I went to school.

  • Schools are a business.

  • They're not a teacher.

  • You go to a school and you like the teacher.

  • Perfect.

  • But that's not the school.

  • So I warn you, if you're about to sign up for a course at a school, think again, you're traveling to come to another country.

  • It's so much money.

  • So we have other students in the class.

  • Sometimes as I said they're very good because you learn different cultures.

  • You learn about different people but they can also bring you down and deter you from learning.

  • Um Another thing that schools love to give you is a certificate.

  • So you go to this E.

  • S.

  • L.

  • School english as a second language school and you do your work and you pass all the tests.

  • Guess what?

  • The teacher can make any grade they want.

  • There's no standardized system.

  • If the teacher doesn't like you, guess what your grade is.

  • Oh yeah it works that way.

  • So the end of this task, the end of this month, six months, five months you get a certificate you think wow this certificate is amazing.

  • Guess what your certificate doesn't mean anything to anyone unless it is a certified certificate like toefel topic isles are Celtic, that certificate matters a certificate you get into school.

  • If you take to a corporation or a job or a company, they have no idea what that means.

  • I can go on the internet and I can make you a certificate.

  • You can go on the Internet, you can make your own certificate.

  • That says I studied uh 52 weeks of English at this school.

  • It is 100 bolus which means fake.

  • They're offering you the certificate to no avail.

  • So but I'll give you a certificate.

  • Okay?

  • It'll be great.

  • You can show it to your mom, put it on the fridge.

  • It's about as much as it's worth.

  • I'm offering private or one on one lesson.

  • So I'm a private tutor or a private teacher.

  • So tutor and teacher is the same idea.

  • Um classes with me.

  • You do not pay extra fees.

  • As I said there's no tuition, no textbooks, nothing.

  • It's just you and me talking.

  • You pay me the money for the hour.

  • That's what you get.

  • The next one is in a classroom.

  • There's many students, the teacher doesn't know what they're doing And they focus on other people.

  • I focus 100 on you.

  • What do you need help with?

  • Do you need pronunciation help?

  • I'm there.

  • Do you need grammar points?

  • Do you understand grammar?

  • You have learned grammar in a school?

  • Guess what I guarantee you don't understand it.

  • Present.

  • Perfect.

  • You got that nailed down.

  • No, you don't take classes with me.

  • You will never be confused about grammar because I teach you what you need to know.

  • Not extra stuff.

  • You're not doing boring textbook work.

  • The pizza is on the table.

  • Yeah.

  • Great.

  • Can I have a pan?

  • You don't learn anything in the school in a classroom?

  • Um, you choose the time.

  • So we are busy.

  • You want to go to school?

  • You need money.

  • So you have a job.

  • I'm sorry.

  • You have to quit your job to go to school.

  • No, not with me.

  • You choose the time.

  • You choose the place.

  • If it's in Toronto, we can hang out anywhere you want.

  • Not outside though, it's winter, but in the summertime we can go to the park anywhere.

  • It doesn't matter if it's at your house.

  • You choose the time after work, before work, during work in your office.

  • I won't tell your boss.

  • I promise.

  • Um, and you choose where you want to do the class.

  • You want to do the class when you're running.

  • Perfect.

  • Let's do it.

  • Hook it up.

  • I want you to be comfortable because if you're not comfortable like in a classroom, you can't speak your nervous.

  • The other thing is, what about other students Ronnie?

  • I want to hang out and speak to other students like a wooden classroom.

  • No problem.

  • Take a group lesson with a group lesson, there's other people to talk to.

  • Um, but if you're just beginning to learn english or you are nervous to speak, I recommend private lessons.

  • Once you're more comfortable, of course you can enter into a group lesson.

  • Um I must also warn you that I have seen many um private teachers or tutors online, one on one in schools, in classrooms who have no idea what they're doing.

  • So I see people offering skype lessons for $10 an hour, $20 an hour.

  • Do you understand that that person has no idea what they're talking about, You think, oh wow, this guy's handsome or well, this girl's beautiful, they can teach me no, they can't.

  • Maybe they're native speakers, maybe they have been teaching sl for a couple of years, You know what, They have no idea what they're talking about.

  • I'm a professional.

  • I've been doing this for 16 years, I've been teaching you videos online.

  • You learn from them, so you have to be very careful about the quality of the private teacher that you're getting.

  • Don't just choose someone because they're cheap because you're not going to learn and they don't know how to answer your questions.

  • I can answer your questions.

  • So english with Ronnie dot com, you get a certificate, you get what you need.

  • Personalized.

  • Amazingly fun.

  • One on one conversation.

  • Hook me up.

  • Send me a lion.

  • I'm out of here back.
