hey everyone jennifer from tarle speech with your pronunciation question

the question today is how do i say the word

rural which means pertaining to life in the country

my biggest tip is you don't have to say this word you can say i grew up in the

country if you want but if you do want to say this word

let's tackle it you have a couple of choices you can say

roar ul rooh ul either is fine so let's start with

roar ul to do that you are going to move from square tense

lips to a pucker to square tense lips roar roar

i personally keep the tip of my tongue down the entire time

for this sequence you can flip your tongue back for that first

r move it down and flip it back again i just caution you to be careful

to not touch your teeth then we are going to

end with that l by touching the tip of the tongue to the back of the top front

next for rooh ul you are going to start with that and to

do this square tense lips and then you're going to move your lips to more

relaxed and then your tongue is going to be

more relaxed in your mouth as well and it's going to move

up slightly so again i make my r with the tip of my tongue

if you flip your tongue back you're going to have to move it all the way

whichever works is fine then we're going to end with

rull and to do that square tense lips tip of the tongue is either

pointed down or flipped back either it's fine whatever works for

you and then we're going to touch the tip of

the tongue to the back of the top front teeth rull

rural so again we have rural and rural rural
