  • Let's welcome in NFL draft analyst Matt Miller to the show.

  • And, Matt, we'll start with you because we want to get this out there.

  • What do you think the Jags need to do here?

  • They've got all this cap space.

  • You got all this money.

  • We think they're gonna draft Trevor Lawrence.

  • But there are a lot of options for them, right?

  • Yeah.

  • I didn't realize we were jacket optional today.

  • By the way, guys.

  • Wow, look at this here.

  • Come on, come on.

  • I know there are.

  • There are a lot of options for Jacksonville at pick number 25 Overall, we spent months talking about what happens at one.

  • We know what's going to happen at one.

  • Let's move down to 25 I look at someone who Urban Meyer should be very familiar with a wide receiver from the University of Florida that is called Darius Tony, who can be used in so many versatile ways.

  • I see him a lot like someone Urban had when he was the head coach of Florida.

  • Percy Harvin.

  • No Jacksonville household discussion.

  • All but Darius.

  • Tony can be that h receiver for Urban Meyer.

  • That means you're going to see him in motion.

  • There will be times where he motions back to the backfield, catches swing routes in the flats, makes place in space.

  • He's aware he's tough.

  • I know Kyle pits kind.

  • A lot of touches.

  • Touchdowns from Kyle Trash.

  • But today, Tony was exceptional after the catch.

  • He's not maybe the fastest guy in the open field of fellas.

  • I think this roster is much, much closer than people realize that they can draft well in 2021.

  • Weight really fast before bigger jumps in, Like, how close are they?

  • Matt, Are you talking the next two years?

  • The next five years.

  • Give us some more there.

  • Yeah, I think within the next two years they can compete in that division to be winning.

  • Also like the Texans.

  • Come on, they're not competing.

  • They're about to trade away the Shawn Watson.

  • No one believes that they will be building the Tennessee Titans cut two starters in the secondary right now, so Tennessee not ready either.

  • So I look at this division has Jacksonville probably not competing this year, but I do think they are on the way up a lot like Cleveland was two years ago where we saw Hey, if they can get a couple things right, they're gonna be competitive.

  • Two years ago, you would have laughed at me if I said the Browns were in the playoffs in two years.

  • Look where they are right now.

  • Book.

  • Well, first of all, this the first time we've been on the other.

  • The other man.

  • Welcome to the ESPN team.

  • You're gonna add a lot of knowledge.

  • But when you talk about the Jaguars being close, buddy Hey, close.

  • But no cigar.

  • They to me, they aren't anywhere close to being ready to compete because their offensive line is terrible.

  • They're gonna draft Trevor Lawrence, number one.

  • I don't think there's any secret whatsoever, but if they put him behind, an offensive line is currently constructed.

  • He's gonna get killed.

  • Very similar the way that Joe Burrow got killed in Cincinnati.

  • So the first thing I hear you with Darius, Tony, you can give him Kyle pits Jamaar Chase and Devante Smith.

  • It doesn't matter if the offensive line doesn't get better, because it's terrible.

  • So much in the fact that they put a franchise tag on Cam Robinson, who, in my opinion, should have been franchised.

  • But that just shows you how desperate Jacksonville is to keep some offensive line talent.

  • They gotta go out and build this offensive line in the draft and then maybe, just maybe, Maddie.

  • I can be talked into drafting a receiver later on.

  • But earlier on, we got to get offensive and defensive line help.

  • Now I'm back, not that's the Booger.

  • I know the line of scrimmage gotta get fixed in order for you to be trending in the right direction.

  • But I will say this.

  • This quarterback spot for Jacksonville has been a conundrum for a long time, and they get that fixed.

  • We all agree with Trevor Lawrence.

  • As far as now we build for a guy that we believe will be a franchise guy.

  • Even when they went to the conference championship, nobody in hell thought Blake Bortles was good.

  • Nobody we we we celebrated.

  • We love going to Minshew and the things that he did and actually performed at a high level in this league for a while.

  • Even then talks about Gardner Minshew potentially being a starter.

  • But he ain't Trevor Lawrence is gonna fix a lot of stuff that they need fixed in Jacksonville.

  • So, to your point, Matt, I understand the concept of what you're talking about.

  • I understand why you would say that.

  • But I'm with Bug as well.

  • If you don't fix or have a line of scrimmage in the NFL, you ain't close to nothing.

  • So depending on what they do in that level in the trenches is when I can determine how close Jacksonville is, they ain't close right now, you know.

  • 11.

  • Picture this draft 11 picks its $74 million they have.

  • They have to fix to fix this.

  • Yes, and the money in free agency.

  • Let's watch them next week, for sure at one thing, too.

  • I mean, I'm gonna write it down on this day.

  • March 10th 2021.

  • Matt Miller said that the Jacksonville Jaguars might be contenders in their division in a couple of years, so if you're right, Matt will go back to it.

  • If you're wrong, we'll just forget about It's fine.
