  • Just two weeks ago, Wilson's agent, giving our Adam Schefter a list of preferred trade destinations for his clients again on the record gave him four teams he'd be willing to go to.

  • Now one of those was the Cowboys there, obviously out of the mix.

  • But not everyone loves the way this is going.

  • Former Seahawk Michael Robinson had this to say.

  • Said quote.

  • I don't know what Russell wants.

  • He's paid.

  • They paid him twice in Seattle.

  • The front office made sure that every other Alpha male, with the exception of Bobby Wagner, KJ right, and some of the old school guys that are there, they made sure that all of us were out the door so that this team could be Russell Wilson's.

  • And now this.

  • The interesting perspective there.

  • He also brought up Russell Wilson has been taking shots at his own offensive line and everything else.

  • So, Diana, let's start with the facts.

  • What is the latest as far as the possibility of Russell Wilson getting traded out of Seattle?

  • Yeah, well, First, let's dissect what we know already, right?

  • So if an agent is putting out four names of teams that the player would want to play for.

  • We know that an agent represents that guy.

  • So that's the way Russell Wilson feels.

  • So that tells you how he feels about the situation in Seattle, which he is not happy.

  • And that is no secret around the league.

  • Now, in terms of, can this really happen?

  • Two months ago, I would have told you there is no chance this is happening.

  • The Seattle Seahawks are not trading Russell Wilson, but this thing has been picking up steam over the last few weeks.

  • Both sides have done nothing to put to put this to bed.

  • Russell Wilson has not come out to say he wants to play for the Seattle Seahawks.

  • And coaching is that the coaching staff and the front office.

  • They've done nothing to say that Russell is our guy, the way we've seen around the league.

  • Other organizations come out right in front and say, This quarterback, let's say Mike Mayock with Derek Carr or Dave Gettleman with Daniel Jones.

  • This is our guy.

  • We have not seen this in Seattle, and those in league circles believe that there's a good chance this could happen if a team is desperate enough to make this trade and a lot of people perceive the bears perhaps to be that team.

  • But Niko, the first thing you said in our meeting this morning was how you would feel if you were a player on that team when they traded away.

  • Russell Wilson?

  • Yeah.

  • Look, if you're if you're a player on Seattle, you don't want your best your your best player to be traded away.

  • And look, if you're Seattle, put it this way.

  • So yesterday I took my son for ice cream.

  • I took my son.

  • We went out for ice cream.

  • I didn't get any ice cream.

  • I was like, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna eat ice cream today.

  • I'm trying to lean up a little bit, right?

  • So he had his cone.

  • I was looking at that code.

  • I'm like, Man, I really want to fight that thing.

  • So I said, Hey, kid, let me have some of that.

  • He looked at me, said, Get your own, get your own.

  • If I'm Seattle, I'm looking at all these teams saying Go, go get your own quarterback.

  • We have my ours.

  • We have our quarterback.

  • This is mine.

  • You're not having any of this thing.

  • So look, if you're Seattle, you hang on to Russell, You don't let him go.

  • And if you're another team, I don't think there's a shot that he's going to leave and go somewhere else.

  • I really don't.

  • Chris Canty.

  • That was a fascinating analogy.

  • By the way to go.

  • I had no idea where it was going.

  • Literally none.

  • But I enjoyed the entire train with you, I guess, really quickly.

  • The question is, did you get your own ice cream?

  • No, I didn't because I'm trying to.

  • I'm trying to go dairy free question.

  • But I really wanted some yet Fair enough.

  • All right, Chris Canty.

  • Then let me come to you.

  • So now you got Michael Robinson saying What?

  • I think maybe a lot of people around the league are thinking, which is, you know, maybe the situation is imperfect, but they really have done a lot to try and make Russell Wilson happy.

  • What gives here?

  • What is your perspective on it?

  • Well, here's the thing.

  • It seems like Russell Wilson is clearly unhappy with how the organization has treated him, and he wants a little more power within the dynamic or the structure that they have in Seattle.

  • But my thing is this.

  • If Russell Wilson doesn't want to be a Seahawk, then he needs to come out publicly and say that Don't leave it up to your agent to do your dirty work.

  • If you don't want to be in Seattle, you need to come out and say it, and that's the only way that he's going to be able to escalate things.

  • In order to be able to force the issue and get out of town, he's gonna have to shoot his way out of town.

  • The way that we've seen players in the past like Terrel Owens or like an Antonio Brown more recently or Jalen Ramsey in Jacksonville, it's gonna have to rise to that level.

  • And I'm not sure that Russell Wilson is willing to take it there just because he understands perception is reality.

  • And for a guy that brands himself with the good man brand, I don't know if he wants to be the bad guy this offseason.

  • That's a very, very It's exactly the right word.

  • It feels very off brand.

  • Let me get Teddy back in here on that thought, because Teddy, you were making the point earlier today.

  • At the end of the day, quarterbacks tend to get what they want.

  • Yes, yeah, it's it's they're different.

  • They're different than all of us guys.

  • I mean, the line linebackers, whatever.

  • We don't matter, okay, when it comes to feelings, but you've got to be a special individual, and usually it's that special individual That's a quarterback that in today's NFL, he can just feel like things aren't done right.

  • And I want out and then you just go through.

  • You play the game and you play the game by.

  • You're indirectly getting something with somebody.

  • They are not sort of a comment about your offensive line.

  • What they've done for Russell Wilson in the past, it doesn't matter.

  • Why should we?

  • As players feel like what you did for me in the past matters, Michael Robbins says.

  • They paid him twice.

  • The other was supposed to pay him twice.

  • You're supposed to pay me three times four times if I deserve it, and you only give me what I deserve.

  • So now, on the other hand, so let's just say this, I'm not happy.

  • I don't think you're doing your job enough to for me to win championships.

  • So me as a quarterback, I can have that right, which I do now in the NFL.

  • If you're Russell Wilson to Shawn Watson, Matthew Stafford, all these players that just want out, you play quarterback, you can get it away and he just has to play the game.

  • Go ahead, Diana.

  • Yeah, I want to share a conversation I had with someone in the league about the situation.

  • Uh, he made it very clear that he's heard a lot about what's going on between Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks and what they're trying to do and how they're trying to make it work.

  • But they have taken phone calls from these teams, and he said the biggest issue isn't so much about trade or dead money.

  • It's about what Seattle's answer at the quarterback position.

  • If they were to move on for him.

  • So that's an element and the other one greenie.

  • And I think this is interesting and I think it rings true.

  • No, GM wants to trade away a guy and see him go to a team and have success and perhaps win a Super Bowl.

  • And if you look at the list of teams that could potentially maybe being the running for Russell Wilson.

  • And we'll say there's two teams left because Mayor endorsed Derek hard.

  • They're sticking with him.

  • We know Dad just signed the big deal.

  • So who's left?

  • We got the Saints and we got the Bears.

  • If Russell Wilson goes to play for the New Orleans Saints with Sean, Payton has his offensive coordinator.

  • With what they've been able to do there, they're going to be able to go far in the playoffs.

  • I'm not sure if it's a Super Bowl, but they can go far with that.

  • I think would be a very tough pill to swallow.

  • Swallow for John Schneider, the GM in Seattle, to trade him there.
