  • Well, we're following a developing story in Seattle, where the Seahawks are picking up the phone when teams are calling about Russell Wilson, according to Dianna Russini.

  • But Seattle's not quote shopping their franchise quarterback remember Wilson last month said he's not demanding a trade, but if the Seahawks were to move him, he has a list of teams.

  • Alright, the Saints, who have to solve their Drew Brees question.

  • That's one.

  • The Raiders who have Derek Carr under contract.

  • That's too.

  • Then the Bears, who had Mitchell Travis Key the past four years, then the Cowboys, who have to make a decision on Dak Prescott with the franchise Tigers signing in long term.

  • So we have one side that doesn't want to be traded, But here's a list, if so, and the other side who's not calling but is picking up the phone when it rings drama in the NFL and NFL insider Dan Graziano joins us now, Dan.

  • A couple weeks ago, it felt like this was being downplayed.

  • But now, when you're picking up the phone, where do, uh, this situation?

  • Where does it stand now?

  • Between Russ and the Seahawks?

  • I still think the most likely outcome here, by far is that Russell Wilson is on the Seahawks in 2021.

  • You know, you pick up the phone because, as one executive told me recently, you pick up the phone in case somebody has a better idea than you have, Uh, so you always listen.

  • But they are not.

  • As I understand it, the Seahawks are not making off season plans that involve trading Russell Wilson, and they are not making off season plans that involve them trying to find a new quarterback.

  • There's frustration there, and Russell Wilson has expressed it.

  • He's expressed it publicly, and he's gone into some level of detail about why he is frustrated.

  • But this is not a situation like the one we're seeing in Houston with the Shawn Watson, where there's no real contact between the player and the team.

  • Russell Wilson has expressed to the Seahawks that he's not interested in being traded, and they have been in contact with him regarding yes, we've been receiving calls, but we're not entertaining them.

  • He was involved in discussions surrounding the hiring of the new offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron.

  • So while things may not be perfectly hunky dory, there in Seattle.

  • I still think in the end it ends up being a situation where Russell Wilson continues to play for them, at least for one more year.

  • Okay, at least for one more year.

  • Let's keep this in mind to.

  • Wilson's current contract with Seattle is through 2023.

  • Dan, Thank you so much more on this story.

  • Coming up later on SportsCenter.

  • Kevin now back with you on SportsCenter, developing out of Seattle, our Diana Russini reporting that the Seahawks are fielding phone calls on Russell Wilson and that while the team is not actively trying to trade Russ, they're not actively hitting call block on inquiries, either.

  • I'm not saying I'm just saying situation.

  • Here's Russell.

  • Wilson's remaining contract by year is Captain next season.

  • 32 million.

  • That goes up to 37 million in 2022 39 million in 2023 when Wilson will be 35 in the last year of his deal, he got the swag dripping swag goo.

  • Marcus Spears is back.

  • What I'm saying?

  • There we go.

  • Okay, so whatever.

  • All right.

  • Okay.

  • I need your help here because this whole thing with with Russia and the Seahawks sort of feels like a lesson in contradiction, right?

  • Russ doesn't want to be traded, but if he did, here's the four teams he wants to be traded to, and the team isn't actively shopping him, but they are taking phone calls about him.

  • What direction is this thing trending?

  • Who will listen?

  • I gotta stop speaking out of turn, because when this first started and Russ was going around making his comments about it, I was like, Russ ain't going nowhere.

  • And then Diana and Chef, the report that the Seahawks are fielding calls for him, so I don't know, All right, so let's hypothetical.

  • Let's have wishful thinking.

  • Could you imagine Russell Wilson in New Orleans with with that team?

  • And I know they end cap hell like their Their cap is so messed up, they gonna need a loan for me.

  • You and Kevin Negandhi, in order to be able to play football, assigned anybody this year.

  • But I think about just the opportunity for us to be in an offense that's expansive.

  • That's going to allow him to continue to be in that, uh, M V p conversation, and obviously he was in that in Seattle at the beginning of the year, and we've heard about Riff, so I just can't market off anymore as not being a possibility.

  • But But listen, if he ends up in New Orleans, l.

  • It's gonna be a hell of a season.

  • That's all I'm gonna say it would be.

  • It would be nasty.

  • So right now, I think the best way to describe the situation with rust in Seattle is it's like a married man saying he's had complicated while also downloading tinder.

  • Oh, God.

  • Oh, okay, I'm just saying, Let me tell you, if a guy does that, it's going to cost them a lot of money.
