  • the odds that you ever replace Russell Wilson with a guy as good as he is are slim.

  • You know you can wind up with an excellent quarterback, and he'll never be Russell Wilson, who is one of the all time greats.

  • He's a future Hall of Famer.

  • And And until Patrick Mahomes came along, Russell Wilson spent about five years, maybe not any one year as the best player in the game, but over a five year period that total value was the best in football.

  • Every year, the other names would change in the M V P.

  • His was always right there.

  • Um, but I'll tell you why.

  • I think in this case, they should shop them.

  • Stephen A.

  • When a guy goes on the record through his agent doesn't leak, it doesn't know we've heard, but goes through his agent to the press to say, Here are the four teams I would like to be traded to if they're going to trade me, that tells me something that tells me that this is not just Russell.

  • Wilson may be unhappy that he's already sat down and visualized and fantasized and and thought it through and decided here are the places I'd like to play, and it doesn't sound like he like to play.

  • He likes playing in Seattle right now.

  • Maybe they can mend fences.

  • Maybe they can make them feel better about it.

  • But when the guy goes on record with those four teams now, consider also Russell Wilson has a very team friendly salary.

  • Which means, actually, maybe he gets more in a trade.

  • You'll get more to trade for him than anyone, maybe including the Sean, because of how team friendly his contract looks right now.

  • What the Seahawks could do is reset the clock with a rookie, and not just any rookie they could get almost any rookie they wanted any young quarterback they wanted other than obviously, Trevor Lawrence.

  • Most likely, um, to to restart the rookie wage scale clock with.

  • And they could stock their team with high draft picks.

  • I think because of how he went about this, it tells me something and that's he doesn't really want to play in Seattle anymore.

  • Yeah, they should shop them.

  • Let me say this to you, Max Kellerman, before I go on.

  • Um, how old is Tom Brady?

  • About 112.

  • Uh, theoretically, Yes.

  • Literally speaking.

  • 43.

  • Uh, Drew Brees.

  • 41 40 41 42 41.

  • Okay, here's how I look at Russell Wilson.

  • I look at Russell Wilson as a guy that's 32 years of age that has at least seven more years left in his career.

  • A guy that ended every sentence with Go Hawks, a guy that has been the quintessential undeniable leader of the Seattle Seahawks franchise for years.

  • He's a Super Bowl champion.

  • He's been the two Super Bowls.

  • He's not one to crack under pressure.

  • Everyone in there.

  • Everybody in the world knows they can play.

  • He can play and they can play on top of it all when you look at what he has establishing what he has accomplished for himself and his record as a starter is 98 45 1.

  • When you heard the complaints about Russell Wilson, what did you hear?

  • You heard that.

  • You know what?

  • He stormed out of the room.

  • He wasn't happy.

  • Uh, staff wasn't listening to him.

  • Particularly two of Pete Carroll's sons.

  • One is gone.

  • One is still there.

  • I say you don't shop him because unlike Houston, unlike it was the case with the Houston Rockets with sorry, Houston, Houston, Texas with Shawn Watson.

  • I would say to you, This is a guy that wants to be listened to, and I don't think that he's as averse to staying as people believe.

  • I just think he's fed up and he's tired of the nonsense.

  • But again, he hasn't been losing, so that's something to take into consideration.

  • And so I think that before you decide to shop him, Max Kellerman, I'd say the answer would be No, because here's what you do.

  • Pete Carroll is known essentially as a chameleon.

  • You know what are shucks?

  • You know, he's got a nice personality.

  • Players guy players coach knows how to really ingratiate himself with folks, particularly folks that don't look like him.

  • Don't share the same cultural background, but he has a way of galvanized the truth.

  • That was his reputation upon further inspection.

  • You hear that he Carol's one of those dudes one things his way, ain't trying to listen to anybody.

  • Ain't trying to hear anybody, Whatever.

  • Here's what I would say.

  • He's a champion for reasons, and I don't believe he won't listen and I believe that if you're Russell Wilson and you go to Pete Carroll and you say This is why I want to leave because, yeah, we winning football games.

  • But I've been hit.

  • I've been sacked 364 times.

  • I've been hit over 1100 times.

  • I've been hit virtually more than anybody else in the National Football League.

  • Dammit, I ain't getting any younger.

  • It hurts.

  • I got WiFi, got Sierra at home.

  • I got kids I wanna be, I wanna be able to walk.

  • I want to be able to be healthy, etcetera, etcetera, and you have that kind of conversation.

  • I think if there's anybody that can get Pete Carroll to say, I hear you, let's work on modifying some things So you more comfortable?

  • I think Pete Carroll has in our eyes he's earned enough cachet.

  • He's earned enough respect in this business to believe that if there's anybody that can modify their way of thinking to some degree to appease his star, who still has years left in him now, it ain't like you on the tail end of his career is only 32.

  • If there's anybody that could do that It's Russell Wilson.

  • This is not as turbulent of a situation as other situations have been.

  • Pete Carroll can modify his way of thinking, and I think Russell Wilson has the power and has the ability to make him do so.

  • While not taking him aback by offending him or anything like that, I think that's possible.

  • More reporting needs to be done on this situation because it's speculation in the sense that my my assumption is that before Russell Wilson goes public through his agent with possible trade destinations, you know that he hasn't blindsided Seattle and Pete Carroll with that.

  • My assumption is things get to a certain point behind the scenes, and then that happens.

  • But I don't know more reporting needs to be done here.

  • I'll say this about Russell Wilson and his age.

  • He is 32 but he has been hit a lot, and he's not a big guy.

  • Maybe it has the same kind he is.

  • He is kind of Big Macs.

  • He's sure not like Ben Roethlisberger.

  • Max, have you seen his legs?

  • I've seen.

  • Not as compact.

  • He's metamorphic.

  • Yeah, that is true still, but masses mass.

  • He's not £260.

  • That's my point.
