-Let's talk about "The Voice," my friend.

It's also the 10th anniversary of the show.

-It's my 5th season, and I'm having a blast.

and we're having a lot of fun this season.

-And I know Brandy is the mentor this season for Team Legend.

It was on my 3rd album, Evolver, and it was actually written by

Frank Ocean, so that's a pretty cool combination.

Me, Brandy singing together, a song written by Frank Ocean.

But we hadn't worked together since then,

I've looked up to her for such a long time.

And so many of my singers on my team just are super Brandy fans,

and I told her that she isn't just a great singer,

That so many artists, so many singers look up to her

as an example of just a great, great vocalist.

And every time my artists walked in and discovered Brandy was

their mentor, they just all were in shock and so thrilled.

because as a kid, I heard that you wanted to be on

one of the original singing competition shows,

-I wanted to be on "Star Search" so badly.

You know, I used to grow up watching Ed McMahon --

And so many great artists actually came through

"Star Search," and I would watch the show

it was called the Fairfield Commons Mall,

They had a local "Star Search" competition

they would send your tape to national "Star Search."

So I won the local "Star Search" competition

at the mall of Fairfield Commons outside of Dayton.

They sent my videotape to the national "Star Search,"

and I never got a call back, so that was that.

-But I did -- I did get a $500 shopping spree

-That's a lot. -I bought a lot of clothes.
