I did not intend for it to get us.

Faras it did is a football player.

I let my competitive side get the best of me, and it was a huge miscommunication.

I will tell you I first saw this because Luis Riddick commented on it on social media this weekend.

Louis, that was that was how I first became aware this had happened.

And I was I was moved by your reaction on social media, so I wanted you to share it here.

Now, Now that again, the young man has apologized for the incident.

What is your take away from the whole thing?

You know, greeny.

What it took me back to, quite honestly was like when I was a kid when I was in 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th grade, and my brother and my cousins were playing at the professional level.

Then I was around locker rooms with guys like, you know, James Loft and from the Green Bay Packers and it's introduced toe guys like John Jefferson and I was around guys like Jim Hazlett and Joe Ferguson with the Buffalo Bills and, uh, Darryl Talley Cornelia spending all these guys.

I mean, I couldn't imagine at the time, no matter what point in their career, that they were at ever talking to them with that kind of disrespect and or telling them that they're in a free agent or that, you know, they're they're washed up.

Or that their careers, their skills were diminishing and just feeling as though, like, I had to write to even talk to someone that way, regardless of whether or not they truly were on the down side of their career.

And and it's it's just it really bothered me that we're at a point now that, for some reason, some way, shape or form that we feel as though we're entitled to do that kind of thing.

You know that whole fan perspective that'll be s perspective about Look, we pay their salaries were allowed to way, have a right to express our disappointment and our our opinions.

Yeah, you know what?

Maybe you do have a right to express your opinions But there's also something called respect.

And there's also something called decency.

And I don't I don't really give a damn what you think about Cam at this point in his career.

He doesn't deserve to be talked to in that way in that forum in front of other people, given everything that he's accomplished, because I just never would have dreamed of doing it.

And look, I didn't really need my parents to tell me that that's not the right thing to do.

But right now I mean, we're failing in some way, shape or form that the youth of our country feels as though they have a right to talk to people that way.

Um, in any kind of form, quite honestly, whether and it doesn't, it's not just involving sports with anyone who was in positions, you know where they have attained something that we are aspiring to be, or they have attained some kind of status that we are aspiring to try and detained, and they've set a good example for, so it just really struck me the wrong way.

I'm not shocked by it.

I've seen it happen.

I've seen it happening throughout our society, right now and like and quite honestly, I said, Look, instead of being too shocked about and spending too much time being angry about it, try to do something to change it.

Try to do something to positively impact the youth of our country.

Eso that kind of thing doesn't happen because it's something that really, really just rubbed me the wrong way.

I can see there's a lot of heads in this room who are nodding along as you were talking, and so again, I just wanted to give you the opportunity to share that.

I saw it on social media over the weekend.

It's very well, said an entirely other news involving Cam Newton.

In an interview with The Boston Herald, Cam was asked, among other things, about the possibility of retiring, and his response was quote Hell, no, I can't go out like that.

I hear all of that talk, my pride one.

Allow me to do it.

There aren't 32 guys better than me, so let's quickly touch on that.

If I can.

Jeff Darlington what, if anything, should we expect the market will look like for Cam Newton this off season, but I expect him to feel exactly that.

But outside of the vacuum of that mindset, he has to still remember Last year he went through several months before he got picked up with the Patriots.

There wasn't much that changed this season other than being a really good teammate and staying manageable, healthy through the season.

So I would say that he's going to be waiting a little bit if he expects to get a starting job in the NFL waiting, probably all the way until August.

If you're the general manager of a team that has an opening at quarterback, how are you viewing Cam Right now he's competing.

I'm not giving him the job.

I think an ideal situation is Denver go in and probably backup Drew Lock.

Initially, Drew Lock is not entrenched and get healthy rehab.

He just wasn't the same guy after surgery.

It looks like he needs more time to get to where he is, so I don't think there's gonna be a starting job just given to him in free agency.

You know, I feel the need to say this out loud because Cam Newton has been so well known for so long he's still on Lee, 31 years old.

He will be 32 by the time next season begins.

So it is not to Mike's point.

It's not as though he doesn't have some time to still try and put this back together.
