  • finishing up this West Coast trip.

  • Harden Step back.

  • Three is good.

  • Oh, in Jordan, Texan and Brooklyn Nets beat the Clippers on extend their winning streak to six in a row with a 16 year old.

  • All it does is just keep the world silent for a little bit.

  • Wait until we kind of hit a bump in the road and then it's what's going on with the nest.

  • They handed out the bumps.

  • Now Nets beat the Clippers to win their sixth straight game last night.

  • Tim Legler joining us now from or on Brooklyn Tim.

  • What did last night show you about the potential for this Nets team?

  • Well, this thing's really coming together, and I think what it showed me last night was.

  • Now they've got multiple scripts and how to beat you, because you could look the West Coast trip.

  • They were just on.

  • And this is a team that made 81 threes in their last four games coming into last night because they were loading up on the two stars.

  • Well, if you want to go ahead and stay over the three point shooters, this is how they're gonna beat you.

  • They've got two of the best offense creators in the entire league, and James Harden and Kyrie Irving went toe work on a vaunted Clippers defense that's got some of the best defensive personnel on the perimeter of the entire n ba.

  • It didn't matter because both of those guys won their individual individual matchup pretty much the entire game.

  • So now you look at this team and say, What exactly are you supposed to do defensively to deal with this kind of offensive firepower at the top of your roster?

  • If you want to commit extra help and multiple defenders on these two isolation players air ball screens, well, then they're going to swing the ball around the perimeter of the way they did the previous four games when they made 80 threes on 49% shooting.

  • And the irony to all this is they don't have Kevin Durant, who is their best player.

  • But they do have their most important player right now, which is James Harden, because he's the guy that setting the table for everybody and making this work.

  • And Kyrie and James hard to really worked out that ball handling dilemma we thought they might find themselves in when they paired up.

  • It's pretty clear now.

  • They've got to find roles and how they're gonna operate offensively, and they just have too much for most teams.

  • Toe plan for scheme or execute against most nights.

  • Meanwhile, Tim Paul George led the Clippers with 34 points, but he was on the bench during the final three minutes of the game after being removed for a minutes restriction.

  • How that decision impact down the stretch?

  • Well, listen, they ended up in a 1.1 possession game with a chance to win.

  • But look, Paul George was the best player on the floor, certainly for the Clippers and maybe for the entire games.

  • Last night he was flowing.

  • He was in rhythm.

  • He wasn't really breaking a sweat.

  • He had 34 points, and this one for me is a real head scratcher.

  • I just don't see the medical or scientific justification to try to tell me that a player could go 33 minutes and that's the hard line.

  • But if you've got another 2 50 to play with the game hanging in the balance, well, that's too much.

  • And now we're risking injury.

  • It doesn't make any sense.

  • Even Paul George alluded to it after the game, said, Look, I'm good to go.

  • I'm healthy.

  • I wanted to play.

  • I wanted to finish the game to me.

  • If you've got a hard number and that number is 33 minutes, apparently, well, then you've got to figure out a way to make sure he's only at about 28 minutes when you get to the last five of the game because they played well enough to win or certainly be in a position to win.

  • And when he has a night like that, I just don't understand not playing him the last 2 50.

  • They try to put it on the players.

  • Interest comes first.

  • I don't really buy that 33 35.

  • What difference does it make if you're north of 30?

  • I don't think it's a health issue and that one for me, that's a tough pill to swallow in a very hard sell, to try to get me to buy into the medical justification for not having Paul George on the floor at the end of the game.

  • Paul George, by the way, having a great season thus far posting the highest player efficiency rating of his career.

  • Tim Legler.

  • Always a pleasure.

  • Thanks, bro.
