  • Heather: Hey guys this is Heather from healthyeatingstartshere.com. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I

  • had a fantastic time with my family and it’s now January so all of you have made New Year’s

  • resolutions and possibly to eat healthier for the New Year and possibly to shift to

  • a plant-based diet for the New Year. So that’s exciting. I’m excited for you

  • guys and I want to help as best I can. One way that I have found is really helpful is

  • if you have the right kind of snacks because that’s where a lot of people fall off of

  • their goals is they get their meals down, but then when it comes to snack time you know

  • its really easy to jump for those left over cookies, left over chocolates, all those things

  • that are left over from the holidays or you kind of get in the cycle of being addicted

  • to chocolates and cookies and all that kind of good stuff which is fine for a little while.

  • But if it starts as an addiction and if it starts spiral out of control then you want

  • to kind of rein it a little bit and the best way I find to do that is to replace your unhealthy

  • snacks with healthy snacks and I have the perfect solution for you. My friends have

  • Vegan Cut’s have a snack box. They get mailed once a month and gives you a sample of nine

  • to fifteen different snack items and for January what they are doing is a healthy snack box.

  • So this is pretty exciting and I wanted to share with you a few of the things that are

  • going to be in this box. One of my favourite teases in this box Mighty

  • Leaf Green Tea Tropical whenever I see this on the menu in a restaurant I get it. There

  • is also a sample of Organic African Nectar which is now rivalling the Green Tea Tropical

  • for my favourite. Its organic African Rooibos with lively tropical notes.

  • I checked by the way with my friend who lived in South Africa for a while and how to pronounce

  • Rooibos because a lot of people have trouble pronouncing it and she said the way I pronounce

  • it is correct Rooibos and that they make Rooibos into ice tea for babies in South Africa because

  • they find it relieves a lot of common baby ailments.

  • There is also a sample of their Earl Grey. So you can tea yourself out. I find tea to

  • be a great way to keep myself warm and I also get something tasty in the middle of the afternoon

  • or in the middle of the morning when I would maybe think about snacking then I will have

  • some tea has no calories tastes great fantastic. Another favourite I was really excited to

  • see in this box - Hemp Hearts! - and they are from one of favourite company’s Manitoba

  • Harvest a Canadian company they source their seeds from Manitoba and Hemp parts are fantastic

  • because they are rich in omega 3 fatty acids which can help balance out if youve being

  • having too many plant oils. You would be having a lot of oily food over the holidays get some

  • hemp parts that balance out your omega 3. They are fantastic in smoothies, on cereal,

  • on porridge, on your salad, toss them into anything they have a very mild flavor, but

  • it’s a little bit nutty and they are soft. Theyre not like a hard seed so these are

  • fantastic. And a new one I was really excited to try

  • salted caramel peanut butter from the three nuts. They make a lot of different flavours

  • of peanut butter and salted caramel is one in the snack box for January and this is cool

  • because it tastes really sweet and rich and flavourful.

  • There are spices in here as well as Vegan caramel made with just brown sugar and water.

  • Other ingredients are just peanuts, spices, and sea salt. So it’s a very natural way

  • to get a very sweet fix. It tastes really, really sweet even though there is no a whole

  • lot of sugar in here and it’s just really satisfying and rich. So if you are trying

  • to shift yourself off of those holiday treats in a healthier direction this is a good way

  • to go. And one last one I am going to mention today

  • is another favourite of mine Mary’s Gone Crackers and they are putting in the Super

  • Seed Crackers which --listen to the ingredients on thisbrown rice, quinoa pumpkin seeds

  • , sunflower seeds, flax seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, water, sea salt, sea weed, black

  • pepper and herbs. So you cannot get any healthier than these

  • crackers. They are perfect. They eve go really nicely with the salted caramel peanut butter

  • if you want to do that. So everything in these crackers is organic, gluten free, soya free,

  • non GMO, Vegan, no diary and they make them in their own facility so they know that there

  • is no gluten there is no issue with cross contamination with nuts or gluten or diary

  • or anything like that. So fantastic crackers that you can check out

  • in the box or on the shelf. So what you should do if you want to check out these products

  • plus a lot more you sign up for the Vegan Cut’s Snack Box. You can just ahead over

  • to website or put a link down below this video. I am super excited to see my box and enjoy

  • all the goodies and I may just sit here smelling teas for a little while. Alright so that’s

  • it for today, but I will see you later this week with a recipe using three of these four

  • products and I will let you guess which three.
