  • Hi, I'm Lana Condor.

  • I'm Anna Cathcart.

  • And I'm Janel Parrish.

  • And we are going to take you through a scene

  • in To All the Boys: Always and Forever, shot by shot.

  • Aw, Korea was so pretty.

  • It's so pretty.

  • Oh, it does.

  • By the time you get this, I'll probably already be-

  • Oh, there's Timmy the cat!

  • The best, the best cat!

  • Michael really fought to get that cat in there.

  • Oh, I love that cat.

  • Our director tried to keep a lot of it organic,

  • especially for the first couple shots.

  • He'd sort of be like, "Here's where your cameras are,

  • but if you want to naturally go to something

  • that you see that looks really cool

  • and you want to talk about it or you want to point it out."

  • He really wanted to capture our genuine excitement

  • for being in a new place

  • and seeing new things and-

  • This noodle thing is amazing.

  • - And the ice cream. - Oh, the ice cream. Mm.

  • It was so fun to shoot in Korea.

  • That was really such a dream and once in a lifetime.

  • We wrapped the movie there.

  • When you watch it, people wouldn't realize that,

  • 'cause it's at the very start,

  • but we liked finished the whole thing in Korea.

  • Like the Seoul sign,

  • it was very much like, "Just go have fun, do stuff."

  • And then we would like run into one letter

  • and then pick each other up

  • and it was like up to us, which was so fun.

  • It was like, we were just playing.

  • Can we talk about the scene where we waited out

  • a typhoon for six hours?

  • Yes!

  • To get the one shot at the palace.

  • This beautiful shot. So worth it.

  • A camera comes on a crane

  • and kind of like zooms in and comes in on you.

  • I mean, it's gorgeous, but we waited six hours.

  • I don't know what possessed us

  • to decide to shoot in a typhoon,

  • but you know what, To All the Boys,

  • - we just persevere. - We did it!

  • - And we keep going. - Worth it.

  • Korea is beyond anything I could have imagined.

  • We've been running around nonstop trying to see and do

  • and eat all the things before spring break is over.

  • That noodle scene was delicious because we actually got

  • to just keep eating noodles from this woman,

  • who's like famous.

  • Fresh, amazing noodles that she made right there.

  • That was my favorite thing.

  • That was like the best thing ever.

  • We were all close to tears.

  • It was our last scene.

  • - Oh. - And like everyone was

  • calling wrap and hugging and sad.

  • That was really a sad moment.

  • It was so sad.

  • Yeah.

  • We're having an amazing time together.

  • Remember how cold the pool was?

  • I will never forget.

  • Yeah, remember how late it was?

  • But the best part is spending time with my sisters.

  • The bike!

  • Look at us riding

  • - the bike! - You guys, that was so hard.

  • They put me in the front thinking that I would be able

  • to be strong enough to drive this three person bike.

  • And I was like, "I can't do this.

  • - I will fall over." - Oh, I forgot about this!

  • "And I will hurt my friends in the back

  • and I can't do this."

  • So then they ended up, Lana, right? You're driving it?

  • - Yeah, we rehearsed it. - Yes.

  • And it was like, very stressful.

  • Our joy though on those bikes was very real

  • because that was our joy knowing

  • that we made it through the scene.

  • And I'm so happy they kept in after all that hard work.

  • - Yes. - It paid off, girls,

  • - it made it in the movie. - Yes!

  • Can't you taste this gold

  • Ah, the karaoke!

  • This was 5:00 AM.

  • Literally, five in the morning.

  • Dead asleep in that spa scene, dead asleep.

  • - Yes! - Like for real asleep.

  • We look like little sushi rolls there.

  • A lot of the shots that we did,

  • they were really public.

  • The makeup store and the ice cream, all that stuff.

  • They would bring a crane in

  • because that was really the only way they could follow us.

  • Typically in films, they'll close a set,

  • and try and keep it like really, really tight.

  • But all the people that you see, like hordes and hordes

  • of people, a lot of them were also just pedestrians.

  • So I remember that was very interesting.

  • - Oh yeah. - 'Cause they would like

  • not realize that we were shooting a scene.

  • Do you remember that my sister did that?

  • - Yeah. - We were all on set

  • and like my family was there

  • and she was just walking back to where like

  • my mom was standing

  • and didn't realize she was literally like

  • on the set and all of us like looked at her face

  • and she was like, and then she left.

  • - Yes. - That's right!

  • I remember that so clearly.

  • But like, what a way to go out as well,

  • knowing that this was like our last experience

  • of filming this movie together and we ended it in Korea.

  • - I know. - That is so cool.

  • Like, what a way to end it.

  • I love you always and forever-

  • A lingering fart,

  • or nay, a bruise that never heals.

  • Kitty.

  • That's the beginning.

  • Thanks so much for watching.

  • Make sure to watch To All the Boys: Always and Forever,

  • only on Netflix.
