activists from India's United Hindu front burned posters of climate activist Greta Thornburg and singer Rihanna on Thursday after the two commented on social media in support of the ongoing farmer protests.

They're both Nunberg and Rihanna tweeted in support of farmers who have been protesting since late 2020 of a new agriculture laws which the protesters say benefit private buyers at the expense of growers.

S lawyer and activist Mina Harris, the niece of Vice President Kamala Harris, also spoke out on Twitter, saying We all should be outraged by India's Internet shutdowns and paramilitary violence against farmer protesters.

Pictures of her and Toronto were also destroyed with the United Hindu front calling the tweets interference by foreign powers in internal matters of India and provocation of Indians.

S embassy in New Delhi urged India's government on Thursday to resume talks with farmers.

 India's Foreign Ministry said it had taken note of the embassies comments and underlined ongoing efforts between Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government and farmers groups to resolve the situation.
