  • we now welcome in Baylor guard May CEO Teague and Maceio.

  • Baylor is obviously undefeated.

  • I saw an article about the fact that you and Jared Butler like to go head to head and play, you know?

  • So I was wondering, I mean, obviously you guys are undefeated as teammates, but somebody has to be the winner and the loser in the head to head matchup with, you know?

  • So who's the champion amongst you, too?

  • The score is 11 and four right now, and I am winning.

  • Oh, wow.

  • Yeah, eh, So I don't I don't know where the shirt thing came from, but I am definitely went in the Siri's right now by a lot.

  • Is that a statement to your greatness of the game or his terrible this to the game?

  • No, I'm just I think that I'm definitely a top one player in the world.

  • I would say it's for me.

  • Wow.

  • Azuma is, you know, like the game for you is are there other card games you guys like to play?

  • Oh, that's the only game we play.

  • We only play, you know, One player in the world is very lofty, but okay, e I mean, like that's where you are.

  • I mean, you gotta believe, right, Christine, you gotta believe in yourself.

  • All right, So let's talk a little bit about this team because there's Christine mentioned your undefeated, right?

  • But we all remember that last year we didn't get the opportunity to see a March Madness.

  • We didn't see the double A tournament.

  • You guys had big expectations going into it last year.

  • So how does that moment sort of fuel this team that you didn't get to play in the tournament last year definitely feels us a lot.

  • We feel like we should never take anything for granted after everything that happened last year.

  • So we're just trying to go out and win every single game possible and just trying to play as hard as we can and compete at the highest level.

  • I always I'm always interested in the human aspect of it makes you because, like, it feels like it's somewhere in the back of your mind.

  • You know, that happened last year like, does it ever creep into your mind?

  • What if it happens again this year?

  • Given the way the world still is, it definitely occurs to me that it could happen, but we're just trying to control.

  • We can control.

  • At the end of the day, we just got to go out and play hard and whatever happens, happens.

  • You know something else that happened last year?

  • You decided to enter into the N B a draft, but then you decided to return to Baylor.

  • What exactly led to that decision?

  • Uh, just a lot of talking.

  • I spoke with the NBA scouts, the people who are interviewing me.

  • I spoke with Royce O'Neill.

  • I spoke with my coaches I talked with with my teammates and everything that we thought that we had coming back next year and how we could be great going into this season and we just felt like it was best for me to come back.

  • It was definitely a team decision, but it was my decision at the end of the day, so I would definitely say Shout out to everybody who helped me throughout the process, you guys have obviously had such a successful season.

  • But you have a lot of returning players.

  • You have a lot of experience and that seems to be sort of a thread this year around college basketball.

  • Like for years, it felt like we were dominated by one and done.

  • And this year there are a lot of teams that are playing with experience and playing well.

  • Is that trend like sort of shifting in college basketball?

  • In your mind, I wouldn't say this.

  • That is shifting.

  • You gotta look at it like Duke, Kentucky, uh, those type of programs that have a lot of one and done.

  • They came in probably around August, and they didn't really get to practice with each other, so they missed out on two months of building chemistry.

  • Um, they didn't really get to compete with each other, maybe play as much in the falling in the in the summer and in the fall, and just Jim was restricted.

  • It was a lot of things that were restricted going into this season.

  • So it's kind of expected for those teams not to be is great, but it's still early in the season.

  • They still have a chance to turn everything around.

  • I wanna ask you, because you obviously transferred into Baylor and the culture.

  • How would you describe Scott Druce team?

  • We care about each other.

  • We keep Jesus first we put each other a second, and then we care about ourselves last.

  • In that way, if we're all sharing the basketball, we're all sharing while we're on the floor, then everybody eats.

  • So if we all keep that identity, then everybody's gonna eat throughout the throughout the year.

  • And the other thing about our culture is everybody likes to get the gym.

  • We have a team for the gym rats.

  • That really helps us to improve our game, uh, and just make shots during the games.

  • Communicate with each other.

  • And it really helps us build bonds because a lot of times were in the gym together and after workouts.

  • We all talk stuff like that just helps us build chemistry on in off the floor.

  • May CEO.

  • You rocked a Kobe tribute.

  • It was awesome.

  • But one of the things that I love watching when you walk through the tunnel, you know, you you kind of approach the tunnel and you are in the league already because you got your shoes on your feet and your shoes in your hand.

  • King told me that you were really in a fashion.

  • You really like that you like the drip and I see it.

  • I see it.

  • So how did you get into the fashion like, What's your favorite fit like?

  • How are you so wavy, etcetera, etcetera?

  • I like this question.

  • It's my favorite.

  • I've been asked, How did I get the fashion?

  • I would definitely say just watching guys like Swaggy P.

  • I would really say that it was probably him.

  • I like looking at guys when they addressed nights coming into the game like Shay Shake Guilders.

  • Alexander.

  • He dresses really nice S o.

  • I just learned to appreciate everything that they were doing Russell Westbrook, P.

  • J.

  • Tucker and just learn to appreciate everything that those guys were doing.

  • And I just want to try it out for myself.

  • And we have a young cameraman and Trey Mina.

  • He's really supportive with me.

  • I told him I wanted to build my brand with the fashion.

  • He said he would take pictures for me when I'm walking in the tunnel.

  • So every home game, he's always there, and I just look forward to tomorrow because I gotta fit.

  • But what's my favorite fit that Kobe Bryant when I just for that's the favorite one, I that I put on so far.

  • What's the first step in building the perfect outfit for you?

  • The perfect outfit for me?

  • I would say, Uh, I probably start with your shoes because the shoes, it's the hardest thing to match with for me, like you could buy clothes easy, closer, way cheaper and the shoes that I wear.

  • So I just I just look at the shoes, then I match up from there.

  • May CEO is trying to get on league fits, so that's basically obviously the goal, right?

  • Like that's the goal.

  • E think they need to put me on a za college version just to College Edition.

  • I saw they put Josh Christopher on their one time, so hopefully they put on their next.

  • We're gonna talk to King right after this.

  • So is there anything that you would like me to know about King or any inside things that we should know about your relationship?

  • He's a really good guy, though is really supportive on me and my decision to come here he was actually, um, my host and when I came with my business, so he's a great guy, phenomenal guy to be around, so I got nothing but love for Big King eyes.

  • He a good you know, player.

  • That's a real question.

  • Uh, I've never really played him in, you know, but but yeah, another game.

  • I like to play a shooting pool.

  • I've never played him in that.

  • But if anybody out there in the world likes to shoot pool, that's that's my game for me.

  • I'm awful at pool, but I could be doing, I'll tell you that right now.

  • Uh, we'll see one day, one day time.

  • Thanks so much for joining us.

  • May CEO.

  • I'll be sure to keep an eye on your drip.

  • All right, thank you for having me A thank you for watching ESPN on YouTube for live streaming sports and premium content.
