  • Connor McGregor had predict a second round knockout.

  • Hey, didn't think he was going to get knocked out, though.

  • Does Emporia comes back and gets revenge in their rematch?

  • Joining about Chel Sonnen and Stephen A.

  • Smith and Chill.

  • Let me start with you.

  • Uh, what a performance by dust in Korea and a surprising performance to everyone except his camp.

  • How did he do this?

  • Fellas, we do not get better at something by not doing it.

  • Look, if there was a miss in 2000 and 20 by us is an industry, it was the Connor McGregor wanted to fight four times, and we allowed him to fight once.

  • In all fairness, it was a Miss.

  • Carter was slow tonight.

  • Carter was sluggish.

  • That is goingto happen.

  • You could Onley get so much in terms of repetition and timing in the gym, through sparring.

  • You've got to be out there and active.

  • Something to be said for momentum.

  • Momentum was on port side.

  • He protected his chin.

  • He fired back with low leg kicks.

  • He chopped the leg down of McGregor and ultimately he wore him out.

  • You know Stephen A.

  • This time last year, Connor McGregor was also coming off and even longer lay off.

  • But, cowboy Sarona, with all due respect, is not the level of fighter that does.

  • Support was here tonight on DWI saw relative to chills point how that in activity may be affected.

  • Connor McGregor in this about well, I thought Dustin I thought that Superior did two things very, very effectively.

  • Obviously he was attacking Commons calf.

  • So that was one thing.

  • But to, you know, remember, he got knocked out in a minute and under a minute and 50 seconds.

  • The first go around, albeit for six years ago.

  • So this time around, he tried to grapple with him, initially got him up against the cage, got him to the ground.

  • And what have you That's what they were doing for the most part.

  • In the first round, I thought that gave Dustin pour a bit of time to get himself comfortable to not be thinking about that.

  • Ko lost that he had suffered at the hands economy Gregor years ago.

  • And obviously is his comfort level grew along with kind of being a bit slow, a bit sluggish, missing with some straight lefts.

  • And what have you ultimately it just elevated Dustin Peoria's level of confidence, and he caught him because he had chopped him down with the calf kicks.

  • He had chopped him down.

  • Connor wasn't able to move.

  • Hit him.

  • Caught him.

  • Particularly with that left.

  • And Connor was about to go on.

  • Ultimately ended up going.

  • You know, we talked about Connor McGregor.

  • Striking ability, uh, in the UFC in some of the best of all time.

  • But doesn't Korea can throw some pretty good hands as well.

  • But chel, why was he so effective at being able to land those calf kicks against McGregor?

  • One of the things that worked really well, when you're southpaw against southpaw, that catkic is going to be open.

  • But we've never seen that.

  • A weakness of Connor McGregor.

  • Guys in the past have tried to throw kicks, and Connor gives them a left right down the middle.

  • For some reason, Connor was not responding.

  • Which part of what I'm blaming on the in activity?

  • That's a timing issue.

  • You gotta bring your knee up blocking at the right time.

  • Send one back down the middle.

  • Connor wasn't doing it.

  • And also that take down in the very first round served Korea in multiple ways because the threat of the takedown is Justus dangerous as the takedown, if you can threaten it.

  • If you could make your opponent believe one, I'm willing to do it.

  • But to I have the skills to get you down.

  • You will make him react.

  • And every time Dustin changed elevations boom, Connor would have to change thinking about the lower body attack.

  • Thinking about that tackler takedown poor, he'd step in and chop him in the leg.

  • Stephen A.

  • McGregor said in activity was the issue.

  • He wants to be even more active clearly in 2021 he plans to regroup as he says, and come back and fight soon.

  • How soon should he get back in there?

  • And what caliber opponent are we talking about that he could possibly see down the road as soon as he's capable of getting back in there?

  • Because I tell you something right now.

  • The minute I saw poor and take him down, all of the first thing that jumped to my mind.

  • When I saw how long it took, kinda McGregor to get to get out of that situation, I said, This man ain't ready for the mega Meddoff.

  • You wanna be in the mega meta if you ain't ready?

  • Because if you can't wrestle with Dustin 48 at least as effectively as we would like to see you so you could get loose and really chop him down with some of those strikes.

  • Then guess what?

  • You're not gonna be somebody like to make a metal?

  • Remember, coming into the fighting to make a metaphor?

  • According to Dana, White and others had alluded to needing to see something spectacular in order to coax him out of retirement toe.

  • Wanna have that quote unquote big fight?

  • We didn't see that tonight.

  • What we're seeing is that Connor McGregor inactive over the last four years, just you to UFC fights.

  • Obviously he lost in the Mega Meddoff in 2000 and 18.

  • You beat Cowboy Cerrone who did who showed up and was looked like a deer in headlights with the bright lights.

  • But you went in against Dustin.

  • Poor EU wasn't ready to handle that.

  • So now what?

  • I don't know where he goes from here.

  • Of course, activity matters.

  • But when you've shown the world that grappling wrestling and ultimately being susceptible to those Catholics.

  • Because if you watch Connor McGregor, he had he had trouble literally getting off his seat when he went to hug.

  • Poor created.

  • Congratulate him.

  • If you're gonna get chopped down like that, how are you gonna beat somebody?

  • Elite fighters?

  • That will be waiting for you.

  • I don't see that happening.

  • I think there's a reason for concern with Connor McGregor, To be quite honest with you.

  • Yeah.

  • McGregor three and three in his last six fights in the UFC chill.

  • I'll get your take on that.

  • How soon should McGregor get back in there?

  • And who?

  • What type of opponents are we looking at for him?

  • Look, I do think he needs activity.

  • He deserves three fights in a calendar year.

  • Samos.

  • Everybody else is offered.

  • So I mean, if we're looking around June July, Okay, finally, you know what Eve's.

  • I like the four guys we had tonight.

  • I don't mind the idea of Michael Chandler advancing to take on poor EA for the championship belt.

  • Whether that's an interim or we pull it off of cab, let's do it for the belt.

  • I don't hate the idea of getting Hooker and Connor in there together.

  • I mean, the Olympic Games play all the way to third.

  • If we're giving out medals, man, let's play this thing through.

  • Hey, not a bad idea.

  • It sort of felt like a Final Four in the 1 £55 division.

  • Ultimately, that winter would get Bebe.

  • Hopefully, but we'll see how it plays out.

  • But again, much credit to Dustin Por Yai coming back and getting revenge against Connor McGregor, He said, You know what?

  • He may not fight again.

  • He said.

  • This felt like a championship fight to him.

  • With the Beeb in retirement, we'll see what's next for Dustin Poirier.
