  • -My first guest is an actress, producer, and activist

  • who you can now see as a judge on TBS' "Go-Big Show,"

  • which airs Thursday nights at 9:00 p.m.

  • Here she is, Rosario Dawson!

  • Oh, it is great to see you.

  • Thank you so much for coming back on the show.

  • I have so many things that I want to ask you

  • and talk to you about.

  • You had a very busy week, though.

  • You were at the inauguration on Wednesday

  • with Senator Cory Booker.

  • -Yeah.

  • -People were so excited to see you guys

  • in your matching masks, by the way.

  • -See us. -Yeah, your eyes.

  • But the matching masks was very -- Everyone was like,

  • "Oh, that is so cute."

  • -That was me.

  • I have a fashion line based in Ghana and New York.

  • And it just felt like --

  • You know, it was weird, because there was

  • so much military there, and it was not,

  • you know, the grounds filled with as many people,

  • so it was such a small amount of people able to be there.

  • And it just felt like any opportunity you could

  • to make sure other people felt like they were there with you.

  • So I just -- I wanted to bring West Africa with me

  • and all of my folks, because this was something

  • the whole world was excited about, so...

  • -What was it like being there? I mean --

  • -It was so stunning and it was so unbelievable.

  • And it was her-story unfolding before us.

  • And just, you know, to then, later in that day,

  • have the swearing-in of Senator Ossoff

  • and Senator Warnock and Senator Padilla,

  • you know, it was this --

  • There was just so many firsts that day.

  • It was just so incredibly profound,

  • and the energy was palpable.

  • I mean, it physically was representative in the sky.

  • It went from gray, gloomy clouds to just bright-blue skies

  • and sunshine and warmth.

  • It was beautiful.

  • -I want to ask you a question, because, in a weird way,

  • it's fitting that you

  • and Senator Booker were there together,

  • because you credit President Biden

  • as being a wingman.

  • -We met him -- We walked in at the same time

  • going into one of the debates, actually.

  • But it was really interesting, because, you know, we're there,

  • and they're in full competition with each other at that moment.

  • -Sure.

  • -And, you know, he walks over and pulls me aside

  • to just say the most wonderful things about Cory.

  • And, you know, just making all his --

  • He's very charming. He was making his jokes.

  • You know, "I married up. I hope the same for him."

  • And, you know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,

  • and very, very, very sweet.

  • But just, you know, it said a lot about him

  • and it said a lot about them as colleagues.

  • You know, even if you are going in

  • and you're pushing your values on that great stage

  • to say, you know, where you see the direction and leadership

  • and vision of this country should be,

  • but still having that respect at the heart of it,

  • I think, just was really, really beautiful

  • and said a lot about Cory and about him.

  • -We usually ask people what it's like to work

  • with really famous co-stars, and you just worked with

  • probably one of the most famous ones in the world.

  • What is it like to work with Baby Yoda?

  • -You know, that beautiful shot with the moon,

  • which we shot, you know, in the volume, as they call it,

  • it's just actual screens all around

  • and the set all built out.

  • So it wasn't, like, green screen and we had to imagine it.

  • We were in that location.

  • It was so powerful and beautiful.

  • Like, that all was there. We could all see that together.

  • And he's moving and looking at me and stuff,

  • and I just -- I mean, he's soft.

  • He's got -- His ears are soft.

  • The little hairs on his head.

  • -There's little hairs! Oh, no! Oh, my gosh. Stop.

  • No, honestly, it's such a great show.

  • Honestly, I can't say any more great things about it.

  • But I want to talk about your other show, "Go-Big Show."

  • This is an extreme talent show.

  • So it's a talent show, but with, like, monster trucks

  • and flames and explosions.

  • It is a giant thing.

  • You literally filmed it in a coliseum.

  • -Yep.

  • -Snoop Dogg, who we love, is also a judge.

  • And you sit next to him. He is fun, right?

  • -He is so fun.

  • There's an episode that's coming up where he,

  • on the break, while we were resetting the stage,

  • had, like, way too many gummies or something

  • and could not stop laughing.

  • And I'm telling you,

  • like, waterfalls coming down his face.

  • Like, the Internet is ready for a new crying meme,

  • because it was next level.

  • Like, we couldn't stop laughing.

  • We're all very different, but we all appreciated what we saw

  • and felt grateful to witness it and just have fun.

  • And so I hope people have fun watching it,

  • because we need that.

  • You know, it's good to laugh.

  • -I want to show everyone a clip.

  • Here's Rosario Dawson helping out one of the acts

  • on "Go-Big Show."

  • Take a look.

  • -Rosario, now.

  • [ Bell ringing ]

  • -Oh, my God.

  • [ Cheers and applause ]

  • -Wow, wow, wow!

  • -"Go-Big Show" airs Thursdays at 9:00 on TBS.

  • Rosario, I thought it might be fun

  • to play a game with you and Senator Booker.

  • So he's going to join us after the break,

  • and we're going to play "Know Your Better Half."

  • We'll be right back with more "Tonight Show" after this.

  • Stick around, everybody! ♪♪
