Neither can too great and powerful groups of nations take comfort from our present course.

So let us begin a new remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness and sincerity is always subject to prove.

Let both sides explore what problems unite us instead of the laboring.

Those problems which divide us way will again be the exemplar of freedom and a beacon of hope.

For those who do not now have freedom, we will match loyalty with loyalty.

We will strive for mutually beneficial relations.

We will not use our friendship to impose on their sovereignty.

With God's help, we can and will resolve the problems which now confront us.

And after all, why shouldn't we believe that we are Americans?

From this joyful mountain top of celebration, we hear a call to service in the valley.

We have changed the guard and now each in our own way.

And with God's help, we must answer the call.

This'll is the price and the promise of citizenship.

This is the source of our confidence, the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny.

This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed.

Why men and women and Children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall And why a man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served in a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath In this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words with hope and virtue.

Let us brave once more the icy currents and endure what storms may come.

Let it be said by our Children's Children that when we were tested we refused toe Let this journey in that we did not turn back.

And with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.
