  • Steph, what do you think about the progress?

  • Um, in these two wins, the difference is that, you see, just in the beginning of the season, which was only four games ago, it's been a roller coaster, you know, a week and some change on the road starting the year off.

  • You know, we obviously know the caliber teams we played the first two games, and, you know, I felt like we got better.

  • Even though the scores didn't really show that Chicago was better offensively, we struggled defensively, and then tonight was kind of the best overall game.

  • We still could get to another level.

  • I turned the ball over too much, and, uh, you know, But I think overall everybody is getting a little bit more confidence and what we're trying to do on both ends of the floor and get them comfortable our rotations and stuff like that.

  • You know, we explain.

  • Amazing that, beginning that fourth quarter and our second unit, that that first six minutes pretty much won the game.

  • So, um, you guys stepped up.

  • You mentioned the increased comfort Is that signify most.

  • Maybe by that Wiggins off ball screen that you got that curling three, I think, was in the third.

  • You seem to enjoy, yeah, celebrate a action like that.

  • I mean, obviously, that some of our pet plays, but it's, you know, it's a process, and we're all trying toe, understand where spacing is and where the flow are.

  • Shots are coming from, um, especially when I give it up and guys were still being able to be threats off the dribble, but know that there's action on the weak side and you know, we'll find a lot more than those.

  • But I think our intentions and what we're trying to do, um, are starting to show, you know, every game stuff you mentioned Andrew Performance.

  • And obviously it's a huge look for everybody when he plays like that.

  • But specific to you, How much of a burden does that take off your shoulders when you're sitting there getting your rest and he's able to carry the group offensively for a stretch obviously helps, but I know he's more than capable of doing it, and it's just a comfort level of again where, you know, oh, play calls, he's gonna get where shots are gonna come from and is his confidence and, you know, ignoring all the numbers and all the, you know, shooting percentages and all that.

  • Because we're all capable MBA players that can do what he did tonight.

  • So, um, it was a huge step in the right direction on finding that tandem kind of approach Where, uh, you know, we're getting good shots on sustaining that over the course of of, you know, each quarter, no matter who's out on the floor.

  • And, um, I think him and, uh, and brag played really well off each other.

  • Especially that fourth quarter to start, um, putting pressure on on their defense.

  • And it was great to see Steph Carter, Latino San Francisco Chronicle.

  • You've now hit 72 straight free throws.

  • What's what's the key to your success of the foul line?

  • And how big of a focus is it for you getting to the foul line as much as possible this season?

  • I mean, just making it's just routine.

  • I tried not to think about the streak even though, uh, when we get reminded about it after every game, so it's kinda hard.

  • But I think getting to the free throw line is always a plus.

  • especially if we're not making shots or if the games kind of going up and down.

  • We're not creating, you know, good shots.

  • Being able to get easy points from the free throw line.

  • Um, definitely settles us and obviously keeps us, um, you know, putting points on the board.

  • So keep trying to do it and keep trying to make him How does two and two feel considering how this road trip started?

  • It feels great when we obviously knew it was gonna be a tough task those first two games.

  • Um, but, you know, going to onto on a road trip in this league is, you know, Ah, good kind of situation if you don't wanna look at, you know, a kind of break down each game.

  • But for us to come out and bounced back like we did, you know, these last two?

  • Um, it's great for morale, obviously, uh, and makes us five hour flight home a lot.

  • Better step out of your leg.

  • Looks like it looks like they, like, really, really are.

  • No, that's fine.

  • I wasn't that play.

  • I got kneed in the thigh on a screen, but I'm good.

  • Steph.

  • Ryan Leon with the NBC news radio, Eric was asked about how excited he would be for the home opener, but he said he wasn't given the fact that this cove it There's no fans.

  • How do you feel about the upcoming home opener?

  • I mean, it's just be good to get home and be in our own space.

  • And you know that Chase Center No matter.

  • You know, obviously with no fans, that is different.

  • But I haven't played that preseason game.

  • I can't understand what the vibe is like, and, uh, we got a pretty tough schedule coming up, so we gotta take advantage of it.

  • Um, it's kind of weird.

  • I don't feel like there's much home court advantage.

  • Haven't been on the road, But being in our home space, obviously, in our routine, um, you know, be around our family, you know?

  • Hopefully that'll be That'll be Ah, positive force.

  • What do you think of the honest are beyond three James Wiseman, coast to coast.

  • It did look like a Yana service situation.

  • Right?

  • Um it was awesome.

  • Yay.

  • I think he's really starting to figure out when to be aggressive and in the next level is obviously being able to see the floor and when he's going to draw a lot of attention, being able to kick it out.

  • But you could see the skill set.

  • See what he's capable of handling the ball crazy long strides and finishing at the room.

  • So, um, it's a good threat to have stuff.

  • You mentioned getting to that next level on offense.

  • How big of how big is it can be to get Draymond Green back into the mix toe to reach that level.

  • It's gonna be huge.

  • We understand what he brings defensively and even for our offensive patterns, how great of a playmaker and passer is.

  • So, um, it's gonna be huge.

  • You want him to be whenever he's ready to be, uh, you know, fully back and you know his best self and you're able to play consistently game after game.

  • So however long it takes, it's necessary.

  • But we understand.

  • Yeah, I can't wait for him to get back and, um, you know, show what he's capable of.

  • Stephan Kelly played a pretty nice game overall, but what do you think it meant for him to get that first three ball?

  • It was great.

  • I think was in his first shot of the night.

  • It was his first three attempt.

  • Second.

  • Oh, yeah.

  • So I mean, it is to keep telling like if it's a good shot, he has to keep shooting.

  • No, don't think about it.

  • Don't hesitate.

  • Just let it fly.

  • Um, you know, eventually things will kind of turn this favor, so hey, can't get gunshot All keep shooting for him to get the first one, obviously, but it's not really kind of about.

  • That was a good moment for him.

  • I'm sure to see it go in, but it's more so just about taking shots that he knows he should take.

  • And And if he doesn't have it, being able to drive, finish at the rim, you know, if he draws a crowd being able to kick it out Thio shooters because he is still athletic, got people have to respect.

  • You know his slash inability.

  • Um, but he has got a better balance.

  • All three of those kind of actions and, um, you know, he's getting he's getting good looks and getting better.

  • What did he show you?

  • That he kept picking those shots and also didn't let it affect his defense.

  • We talked about that after the Chicago game is something that really impressed with, obviously in terms of, um, him understanding that he can affect the game in a lot of different ways, even if he's not making shots.

  • So, um, not to hang his head, not getting his head about it and understand those shots gonna keep coming and he's gonna keep taking him adventure again.

  • He'll they'll fall.

  • But he he does so much good things on mhm, you know, on the defensive end that they give us energy and, um, can even, like, kind of spark, you know, his offense.

  • Just keeping him, you know, engaged, uh, for the first time, Uh, go ahead, staff.

  • In the first half, you had six shots, but you seem to be, you know, moving the ball a lot, passing it like, how's your field growing for when to be aggressive And when thio get other people involved with this new cast around you?

  • Um, e think a lot of it is, um, kind of a game the game to see how the defense is playing me whether you know, the trapping ball screens or sending, you know, multiple guys on drives and stuff like that.

  • I got in trouble in the third quarter, you know, two or three times trying to get all the way to the basket and not realizing there's, you know, four guys in there.

  • So I gotta do a better job of seeing the floor in those moments.

  • But, you know, being aggressive, whether it's a ball screen, you know, at the top of key, trying to create shots.

  • And then we're gonna get to that next layer of when I do draw a crowd, give it up if we don't have anything, getting it back on the weak side.

  • So all that all that type of stuff will continue to happen.

  • Um, tonight I was worried about six shots in the first half because it's kind of just taking what the defense was giving me.

  • And we were getting, you know, planning on the offensive end.

  • So over the course of you know, 48 minutes and my runs, you know I'll find shots.

Steph, what do you think about the progress?
