  • the king.

  • LeBron James Can Ron saying with your chest.

  • LeBron James Twitter handle at King James has served his validation that he viewed himself to someone wearing the crown, even when there was evidence to the contrary.

  • Rappers 2019 NBA champs and 3 2020 there was a guy named Co I Leonard Serving is the reigning NBA champion in NBA Finals.

  • M v P.

  • It was Kevin Durant Steph Curry wearing the crown the year before that.

  • There's a new dynasty in the NBA and the year before that.

  • What crown are you talking about?

  • LeBron James?

  • Critics would ask, Where is it?

  • Evidently they were never listening to James at all.

  • I would not stop until I see real change.

  • They didn't know championships have paled in comparison to the man he was determined to be.

  • The man that he is from the passing of Kobe Bryant toe a global pandemic from the stoppage of the NBA season in March to the killing of George Florida in May that even threatened to halt the NBA season completely.

  • The hopes and expectations never departed from the doorsteps of LeBron James.

  • They just moved in the obligations demands Don't forget Kobe LeBron.

  • Speak out.

  • LeBron Briana Taylor, LeBron Justice from Rianna Taylor.

  • Time and time again, expectations never faded.

  • They elevated seemingly in some kind of subliminal way just to make this mountain of a man Crump to his figurative knees.

  • And just in case James was somehow overcome.

  • This all there was that everlasting reminder off what being a Los Angeles Laker actually entail from the days of Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West from Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Magic Johnson to Shaq and Kobe.

  • When you are the face of this franchise, you went championship script, your family, period.

  • Most folks don't spend their careers, their lives, dealing with such enormous expectations.

  • So as the clock ticks on the year, we all can't wait to be over.

  • Just think of all.

  • James had to endure the sadness and heartbreak that came with it, how it all deteriorated into turmoil in disbelief.

  • Hit in the end.

  • James Talk.

  • This historic 2020 MBA championship belongs to the Los Angeles Lakers, with the latest crown his fourth hovering over his head, his support this world.

  • LeBron James life in 2020 Yeah, Stephen A.

  • Smith on LeBron James and for more.

  • We're joined now.

  • By Mark J.

  • Spears, senior N b A writer for the undefeated mark.

  • When you think about the scope and you think about the arc of LeBron James's story, where do your thoughts first take you?

  • Well, I mean, with all due respect to the Heat into the Cavaliers, I think winning the championship with the Lakers just takes everything to a much higher level.

  • You know, it puts him in the same breath of Elgin, Jerry Wilt, Magic, Kareem, Shaq, Kobe.

  • You know, he lived up to put up Thio.

  • All the pressure of wearing that Lakers uniforms, which is brighter.

  • There's greater pressures he's had in his career, and I also think because of it and him resigning with the Lakers, he's gonna get his jersey in the rafters at Staples Center one day.

  • So certainly winning a championship in the Lakers uniforms great and off the court.

  • I believe that the more than a vote initiative impacted the election greatly and pushed millions of blacks and women and other people of color to register to vote.

  • So while 2020 has been nightmare the most, he certainly has a lot to be proud of this year.

  • Yeah.

  • In 2020 he really continued to define his legacy in so many ways.

  • What was it like covering that and seeing him do it the way that he did it?

  • You know, it was interesting.

  • There was, Ah, lot of teams in the bubble that succumb to the bubble.

  • Like the Lakers didn't play anybody higher than 1/5 seed and Miami.

  • He deserves a lot of credit for focusing and doing that.

  • But the Lakers, led by LeBron, was were steady the whole way.

  • I'll never forget that game in which he knocked the Nuggets out on and how he basically impose his will to push them to the finals and eventually win the championship.

  • So, um, but the more than a vote initiative, uh, it kind of got started up big in the bubble after they took those three days off that was sparked by the bucks, and I think it gave it some even more juice and it already had, and a nim packed it having arenas open all over the country.

  • Uh, that allowed people to vote and will have an impact on the runoff in Georgia as well.

  • Mark, when we talk about LeBron, we always try toe.

  • Unpack his motivations at this point with everything that he's achieved, what still drives him, solidifying the goat argument that seems to be very important to him.

  • Like Michael Jordan has six championships.

  • He hasn't lost in any finals.

  • But if if LeBron, at the age of 36 which he will be on December 30th, can get that fifth title, Um, I think it helps him in the argument greatly.

  • Um, could he catch Jordan?

  • He has time.

  • He he hasn't fallen down.

  • The Lakers are better now than they were a season ago.

  • Uh, it's not out of the realm of possibility him catching them or there, I say, even passing him.

  • But I think it's solidifying that he is the goat.

  • That's probably his greatest motivation right now is a player because he's done everything else, Mark.

  • What will defending the title looked like this season for LeBron and the Lakers, especially after the short turnaround.

  • I think the biggest challenge is staying healthy.

  • Uh, this team, I believe, would beat the team in the bubble with with some of their new additions.

  • But when you have when you hear that number.

  • Oh, it's the shortest layoff.

  • 73 73 days.

  • That applies mostly to the Miami Heat in the Lakers.

  • They're the two teams that were in the final.

  • So for somebody that's 35 years old, they have that short of arrest for Anthony Davis, who admittedly has had injury woes, that is concerning to me.

  • So on paper, I think they are the best team and there's no close second.

  • But will they succumb to that short layoff?

  • Will LeBron's age finally hit him with this?

  • Well, Anthony Davis's injuries in the past resurface.

  • That is the thing that I'm worried about the most for the Lakers is a short lay off having a negative effect on them.

the king.
