I went to a basketball school, as I call it, UConn, and that's how I usually think of Indiana Tim.

So it's funny to be talking about them in terms of college football.

But do you think they have a shot against the Buckeyes?

Listen, Tom Allen is doing a great job with this program.

They're playing hard.

They're playing with fundamentals.

They're playing with heart and they have a quarterback.

That's a good combination.

Their quarterback is.

He's from Florida, so we need to throw that in there.

But this kid is a really good player, and he's giving them a chance.

But listen.

Ohio State is not Michigan State.

Ohio State's not Penn State.

They're not Michigan.

They're not in the same ballpark.

While I want to give Indiana credit, you're going up against a different animal in Ohio State.

And while there's a shot because this is a spread passing attack with a good quarterback, it's still a long shot because they cannot match up man to man with Ohio State's athletes.

And Justin Fields is a superior athlete to almost everybody on Indiana's defense.

Indiana is gonna have to match them shot for shot score for score, and I think they have the ability to do it.

But I still believe it's a long shot.

Ohio State is the creme de la creme in college football, and you're going to have to take another level to knock them off.

Tim, how do you compare Justin Fields to Trevor Lawrence as a passer?

And if indeed it is close, why shouldn't he be considered a better quarterback than Trevor Lawrence?

In your estimation, I do think it's close.

I think it's really close.

I think Justin has taken strides every single year.

I think when you go back to his freshman year at Georgia, he was still figuring out coverages and a lot and threw it into coverage with.

But then when he got with Coach Day at Ohio State, he's learning.

He's learning.

He's learning, he's growing.

I mean, he's barely missed any passes in their three games.

He is playing at an elite level and what's disappointing to me right now is if he had more games, I think he would be number one on my board for the Heisman.

If you just took the top three games of everyone, it's hard to say anyone has had three better games than Justin Fields.

That's how good he's been this year.

I don't have them far below Trevor Lawrence.

I have them neck and neck.

I think Justin Fields is slightly more of an elite athlete.

He's a little bit stronger.

He's way more physical than people give him credit for, and he's been improving as a passer down the field.

He's accurate.

He's been consistent with possession passes.

He's been doing good in the pocket.

The one area I would like to see is when he gets blitzes to throw hot, just a little bit more.

But this kid is a This kid is unreal.

And if he had more games, he would be up there for the Heisman.

Then why is it that everybody is talking about Trevor Lawrence is a surefire number one overall pick based on what you're saying, I mean, based on what you're saying, Justin Field is a better athlete.

He's right up there comparably in terms of throwing ability.

Why the hell are we talking about Trevor Lawrence as a surefire number one.

What is it is here Dio What's the deal?

Well, I think when you look at Trevor, you are looking at someone that for years everybody would look at and say, Wow, he has everything.

But just because he has everything that you look for in a quarterback doesn't mean that Justin Fields doesn't Both of them are elite prospects.

In my mind.

I would love to have either one.

Either one is a is a game changer for an organization in a program at the next level.

I think both of them have the chance to be, um, top five picks and Botham had the chance to be really good at the next level.

So I don't want to take anything away from Trevor Lawrence to say he doesn't have equality.

I just think Justin Fields also has those qualities.

I'm not sure it's the slam dunk that it goes one and they go one and two in that order anymore.

I think that's what I like that question in fact, because I don't think it And so along those lines Tim, what is what is Trevor Lawrence have to show.

Um, you know, they lost to Notre Dame way.

Angelil was okay, but like they lost to Notre Dame.

That's an upset.

Now Trevor Lawrence comes back.

He has Florida State.

What does he have to show in this game and going forward to be the number one pick?

I think he's just got to continue to follow the game plan.

Do exactly what he's done for the last three years.

Nothing.

Everything he's done has been just enough to get them to two national championships.

He doesn't need to change.

He doesn't need to press.

That's one thing I loved about how he started this season.

You didn't see a different Trevor Lawrence.

You saw the exact same guy.

He didn't start depressed.

He didn't fold under all the pressure of you.

Got to be the number one guy.

You can't miss the past.

Guess what?

He missed a few.

He went to the sideline.

He came right back in through five more touchdowns.

Like that's Trevor.

That's what I love about him.

Listen, be the same kid you've been the last three years.

You're gonna be fine.

You're gonna have a good weekend.

You're gonna blow out Florida State, you're gonna have a chance to have a rematch against Notre Dame.

You beat them, you're going to the college football playoff.

You play against some good teams.

Everything is right in front of you.

That's his mindset.

That's his focus.

He can't press now.

He's gonna be the same kid He's been last three years.

You cool with Ohio State being behind Notre Dame.

The number two, You're cool with Ohio State being rated behind and ranked behind Notre Dame.

No, no, I'm not cool with it.

Not in my opinion.

Ohio State is a better team.

I do want to give credit to Notre Dame.

Notre Dame is a good football team, their physical, fundamental sound.

They have a good quarterback.

They're a good football team, a very good football team.

I do not think they have.

The elite athletes at Ohio State has.

I think Ohio State is a better football team than Notre Dame.
