You could stunt his growth and he told me, Just put him on the resistance bands and he just fell in love with that kind of stuff.

Then, on October 13th, 2018 midway through his redshirt sophomore year, a severe injury threatened his future.

I got hit my left arm Felt like it was on fire.

And, you know, I pray with him and, um how go?

Um, not at the time, Not even knowing how bad it waas after a CAT scan revealed a broken vertebra.

If I got hit any harder, the bone would have went and pierce my spinal cord and I would have been paralyzed outside the football.

And so, you know, he could have been in a hospital bed in our living room for the rest of his life.

DK's college career was over, but a second opinion revealed that he could recover in six months.

Through grueling strength and conditioning, the bone would heal.

Less than five months after breaking his neck, the 6 ft 4 £228 receiver did the incredible and ran a 433 40 yard dash.

I called my mom because she knew how hard I worked, and I got on the phone and I got on the phone and she just told me how proud she wasn't man.

No, just just got me emotional because she was with me every step of the way.

DK fell down draft boards but was selected with the final pick in the second round at 64th overall.

SAT and watched the whole second round go by before hearing my name, but it was the best 64 fall I've ever had.

Um, whether you wanna call it feet, inches, whatever you wanna call it.

I'm just thankful that I'm in here in Seattle, uh, playing for the best team in the league.

The journey continued his rookie season, catching seven touchdown passes.

Then, during the 2020 offseason, Metcalfe spent time in Mexico in California training with Russell Wilson.

There was a whole another level of the game that we thought that way could really go to me and him and I hope we get to play together for a long, long time way.
