  • all right, back to our guys.

  • I want to bring back in, Paul.

  • So we know Yannas will be able to sign that Supermax extension Paul Pierce.

  • But my question is, should he would you if it was you?

  • If I'm being honest, 230 million is gonna be pretty hard to turn down.

  • I mean, he's still young on.

  • Then you would have franchise who has shown the commitment to try at least get better.

  • I mean, I know they had a trade that that went through that got drew holiday.

  • They didn't they didn't get Vandana vich, but it just shows you that they're trying to get better at all costs.

  • And if I had this on the table, there's no way I wouldn't take this.

  • Look at that to 28.

  • What about you, Vince Carter?

  • He's right, Like I mean, he's in the position.

  • I mean, that's that's a lot of money, man.

  • Like point blank.

  • But on I know he wants to win, and I think Milwaukee is showing that they're trying to do everything they can to bring in stars and some pieces, uh, to strengthen their team.

  • I think Drew Djourou.

  • Holiday is a great asset and a great piece to him.

  • Two way player.

  • Tough guy.

  • Uh, I know things fell through with bogey Bogdanovich, but this is a great start in the in the right direction.

  • Thio lure him back.

  • Well, I mean, I'll has him popping in with us as well right now.

  • And, look, I have never been in the position of having to accept or turned down $230 million so I can't say for sure what I would dio, but considering he could get the exact same amount of money next year, I mean next offseason, considering that we have seen even players if they get a significant injury.

  • Lee injury like Kevin Durant tearing his Achilles and Brooklyn signing him to that max deal anyway, right out of the gate knowing that he couldn't play for them for a year.

  • So knowing that that kind of situation that insurance is out there if you get hurt, why would you sign this deal?

  • Is that security?

  • Just take it while you got it.

  • Yeah.

  • I mean, I think you talk about the security again.

  • It's one thing to say Durant got the money anyway.

  • But we also know that Durant's game is injury proof in the sense that his high his length is shooting can allow him to kind of overcoming Achilles injury in a way that Yannis could not, because his game is so heavily based on athleticism and explosion.

  • But I'm with you, Rachel.

  • If the money is the same from the Bucks now or next summer, why not wait till next summer and then give yourself real options?

  • And And the thing is, when you throw up that graphic of what he could get from other teams versus what he could get with the Bucks, it fails to recognize that he probably wouldn't sign a four year deal.

  • He probably sign a two plus one op that when he hits the 10 year mark and then signed a new deal, then with a higher slice of of a bigger pie.

  • And that's the big thing There is that it's not quite 145 versus 230 or 2 28.

  • It's a little bit more than that.

  • Uh, from that he could get otherwise, and so you want to see if what the Bucks have done is.

  • Are these moves cosmetic?

  • Are they moves?

  • Are gonna move the needle or they just things that names that we got in here.

  • And we end up not being that much better than what we were before.

  • Let me tell you all something.

  • What do you think?

  • Listen to this.

  • Listen, we're in the era right now.

  • If you asked all the players in the league, would you rather have 230 million or a championship ring?

  • I bet you 99% of them would say $230 million a money.

  • Secure the back e 10 players.

  • It don't matter.

  • Every player in the league, every player to leave.

  • You asked them, right?

  • The money is so great.

  • Now that number 2 30.

  • Great.

  • Right now.

  • Let's just be honest.

  • The number has gotten too great.

  • You know, when me and Vince played, our Max was like, 70 80 which was a great number, but to 30.

  • Come on, man, give me 2.

  • 30 and you can have that.

  • But if the money, if the money is waiting for you either way, what's the rush?

  • Like you said, this game is not injury.

  • proof he breaks the leg, tears an Achilles.

  • His game might not recover because he don't have the skill set that Durant has.

  • Come on way.

  • All know that.

  • Just the honest truth right there.

  • You all wanted it.

  • You got it.

  • Well, look, I'm operating in a world where again you talk to me or, I mean, who's Max?

  • Salary never hit $70 million.

  • Paul Pierce Just saying, um, 232,000,230 million is an insane number, but I'm also living in a world where I just saw James Harden turned down a two year, $103 million extension.

  • So I'm seeing guys because you know, James basically has made about $300 million by the time this current contract he's on is going to be over and saying, Okay, I care a little bit more about winning.

  • Anthony Davis had the chance to make more money with the pelicans and still asked out to go to L.

  • A.

  • Because he said, Look, I do have a lot of money already in career earnings.

  • I care more about winning, so it's not unprecedented, but I will say that the Achilles injury or something like that.

  • The threat of that is really because we're seeing so many of these two key players.

  • It's not just Kevin Durant.

  • We learned yesterday, guys about Clay Thompson, right?

  • Go ahead.

  • I will add to this, uh, to that part, what What Paul is trying to, what it's saying is that the end, especially if you're a guy who's injury prone and you've had some injury that has put you out of contentions or just opportunities toe win.

  • Sometimes the best route is going to get that money where our sport is guaranteed.

  • So when you're like we have that money locked up, you have it locked up.

  • So, uh, you know what it means, saying what Paul is saying.

  • They're both saying great things, but it's like if you're a guy that's been injury prone, you don't want to take that chance at that number.

  • No way, E.

  • Guess we better listen to the millionaires I was going to say, Even if you're not a guy who's injury prone, you have to think about it.

  • Clay Thompson, of course, tearing his Achilles.

  • You remember he was the Warriors Iron man, right leading up to that injury that a c L.

  • And now he's got a Siris of injuries.
