  • After almost six months, the Democratic Republic of Congo has announced the end of an Ebola outbreak in the country's west, and health authorities are looking at how they can apply the lessons learned there to the fight against coronavirus.

  • Congo has suffered 11 Ebola outbreaks since the virus was discovered near the Ebola River in 1976.

  • That's more than double any other country.
