  • Hi, Anthony.

  • Congratulations.

  • First and foremost of going number one.

  • How you feeling?

  • And you think you will fit alongside the Angela Russell and Karl Anthony towns in Minnesota?

  • Uh, I'm feeling I'm feeling very, uh, joyful and excited, Uh, just because of the fact that I had my mother and grandmother next to me, and I feel like I'm gonna fit perfect with those guys because I know Russell likes to play off the ball sometimes.

  • And I could play on the ball when he wants to play on the ball and play off the ball.

  • And cat is the best, uh, three point shooting big man in the league.

  • So I feel like we can't go wrong with that.

  • A lot of picking pops even pick and rolls as such.

  • Next question will go to Paul Casanova.

  • All right.

  • Thanks.

  • Congratulations.

  • By the way, I have to win.

  • I'm about I'm sorry.

  • Can you hear me?

  • Congratulations.

  • By the way, man, Um, we all know what kind of offensive guy you could be.

  • Can you tell us maybe something that you might wanna work on for your MBA game?

  • Oh, yeah.

  • Most definitely.

  • Just being locked in the whole game, no matter what's going on and just proving myself defensively defensively to practice the workouts through games and just on fourth in my career, just showing that my defensive abilities are unmatched.

  • Thank you.

  • Next question will go to Mike Griffiths.

  • Go ahead, Mike.

  • Yeah, Anthony.

  • Congratulations, man.

  • Are a lot of people here at Georgia excited for you?

  • Hey, what do you What do you take with you from playing for Coach Creen and Georges ahead to the N b A.

  • Now the thing that the things that I take with me from playing for Coach Crane one being able to watch films instead watching film and stand like then and probably the second best thing is just being able to play without the ball, been able to cut, move, set set screens to get other players open.

  • And just being the best team that I could be ever.

  • Next question we have is from Andres Lopez.

  • Go ahead, please.

  • Thank you.

  • Anthony, Congrats on your great night.

  • Um, earlier in the week, we spoke to the president of basketball operations at the Timberwolves, and he said that his big, uh, target for you was to develop you without the pressure of you having to be a superstar.

  • Your body is very MBA.

  • Ready?

  • Very athletic.

  • You can already bring a very explosive game.

  • How do you expect your development to go in your first rookie season?

  • I mean, exactly like he said.

  • Uh, no, don't Don't feel too much pressure.

  • I got two superstars alongside of me, so I'm not really gonna feel too much pressure, But I'm gonna do it.

  • Always do.

  • Bring what I bring to the table and just impact the game other ways.

  • Like they already can score the ball.

  • So defensively on the impact, the game again, being the guard, the best guard rebounding team that I could possibly be and just being locked in and doing whatever the coaching needs me to do, To be honest.

  • Appreciate you, man.

  • Enjoy.

  • A big day.

  • Can be no question.

  • Please make sure that you raise your hand.

  • We'll try and get Thio.

  • X Question both the Samuel each Samuel.

  • Thanks.

  • Ah, Anthony.

  • Congrats again, man.

  • Looking forward to watching you play.

  • Um, what player would you say?

  • Are you most excited to play against in the NBA?

  • Uh, that's easy on the player.

  • I'm most excited.

  • Play against Kevin Durant.

  • Why would you say that?

  • Just because he's the best player in the league, he's 7 ft.

  • Uh, unguardable can do everything.

  • Ah, little guard can do.

  • So it is easy, That's what That's what I'm ready to play.

  • Awesome, man, Will you do?

  • Well, thank you so much for those who wished to record this.

  • Please pin the player, Anthony, And then you will be able to use the record function.

  • Our next question goes to Jase.

  • Frederick, Go ahead, Jace, please.

  • Anything would when you hear your name.

  • When you hear it's called number one where those emotions like, maybe versus what you expected.

  • Um, crying wise, But nothing, nothing.

  • But as far as just being excited and just being happy and ready to go and ready to work and ready to get there as soon as possible, I mean, those emotions were overwhelmed with just my mother and grandmother being there, so I mean, it was just a dream come true and just a blessing.

  • Thank you.

  • Our next question comes from Stallone sports.

  • Alright, please.

  • Hey, Anthony.

  • Uh, one sec.

  • And your video here.

  • Awesome that you are handed the derrick here from Sloan Sports.

  • Congratulations.

  • Ban on becoming the number one pick in the draft.

  • Major blessings.

  • So congrats.

  • Yeah, of course.

  • Yeah.

  • So just, you know, getting to this point in your career, the next chapter when you reflect back on your journey and just all that you've been through and what you've been blessed to achieve and everything you've overcome.

  • What would you say has been the biggest life lesson you've learned through these respective experiences to this point?

  • Um, the biggest life lesson that I've ever learned was just smiled no matter what.

  • Never get too high.

  • I never get to love.

  • Stay here.

  • State, of course, And just smile, no matter what's going on.

  • Love it, man.

  • Which to the best?

  • Congrats.

  • Thank you so much.

  • The next question is Justin Felder.

  • Great.

  • Please, Anthony.

  • Congratulations from Fox five in Atlanta.

  • What does it mean to represent Atlanta is the number one pick and also give the University of Georgia their first ever number one overall.

  • I mean, it's a blessing come true.

  • It's a blessing come true, man.

  • To be from Atlanta, be the number one pick and then go to Georgia.

  • and be Georgia's first number one pick and be coach Cranes number one first number one pick.

  • So everything is just a blessing, man.

  • And like I say, it's more to come.

  • And I'm just ready to get the work.

  • Chris Hine, you have the next question.

  • Please go ahead.

  • Chris.

  • Anthony, I'm wondering conversations like with Gerson Roses.

  • Ryan Saunders.

  • And what do you know about the Timberwolves organization in Minnesota?

  • In general, as you get ready to come up here, I just know they like to compete.

  • They love to compete.

  • The first time they met with me, they had everything mapped out.

  • They had a game plan.

  • They had everything for me.

  • Like they was like, Listen, we wanted to bring everything, wanted to be ready.

  • And I know they love to compete.

  • They love players who gonna come and compete.

  • They love players who gonna leave it all on the court, and they just they want you to come in there and just be ready.

  • So I feel like I'm one of those players and I'm just ready to work.

  • Next question is from Leo's son.

  • Go ahead, Leo.

  • How's it going, Anthony?

  • Congratulations, man.

  • Thank you so much s I have a question for you right now.

  • There are some rumors going around that Ricky Rubio may be traded to Timberwolves, and so that gives them Ricky Rubio, D'Angelo, Russell and you as a third guard.

  • So how comfortable would you feel?

  • Playing as you know, a small Ford or rotating around those guard rules?

  • It doesn't really matter to me, because ah, ah, lot of people don't know.

  • I'm 65 2.

  • 30.

  • So, I mean, I feel like I could guard the one through three that it doesn't really matter.

  • And I'm strong enough to, you know, not be pushed around.

  • So I feel like I'm okay.

  • We'll take two more questions here.

  • The first one from DNA sports talk.

  • Please go ahead.

  • First of all, congratulations there being afraid that, but problem when you were doing your workouts and it took a lot longer than normal since there wasn't a the summer for it.

  • What did you specifically work on to improve?

  • To get you to be the number?

  • Um, that's a great question, man.

  • Uh, a lot of people don't ask that, um I feel like the most important thing that I changed during my workouts was I was never able to just, uh, focus on basketball.

  • I feel like once quarantine hit.

  • Once I declare for the draft, I was just locked in on just basketball.

  • Just get 1% better every day.

  • That's like the main thing that I changed was just being able to just hit consistent shots like catch and shoot, not off the dribble.

  • Everyone always, uh, is in all what I could do off the dribble, but with the questions was my catching and shooting ability, which I feel like I took that toe another level, but not as far as it could go.

  • A tremendous best wishes to you, like, thank you.

  • The final question we have for you will be from DNA sports talk.

  • Excuse me from the three point conversion.

  • God, please, can you hear me?

  • Yeah, I'm going.

  • I'm going on.

  • Okay.

  • All right.

  • Sorry about that.

  • What's going on, Anthony?

  • First of all, congrats, man.

  • I'm also from Atlanta, so I know a lot about you.

  • Of course, but I wanna ask you when you went through this quarantine, you talked about it.

  • Did you feel like that was a I shouldn't say an advantage, but kind of like a blessing in the sense.

  • Just the fact that you've got to work on your game.

  • Yeah, most definitely.

  • A lot of people look at it as it took too long to get Jack that I look at it as it gave me just enough time to get where I needed to be right before I needed to report to where I was going.

  • So therefore, like, just me getting in better shape everyday, me being able to shoot the ball 1% better everyday, me being able to do a lot of things 1% better every day.

  • Just it changed just because of how long of a time period I had.

  • So I feel like grew up.

  • Then quickly, quick follow up.

  • Knowing that you're going to Minnesota, you're going to this young team to be in this young nucleus, knowing you all have a lot of talent.

  • How much fun you think is gonna be.

  • And just what are your thoughts in particular?

  • Uh, there's gonna be fun, man.

  • I feel like we got a lot of Malik Beasley.

  • We got just a Kogi.

  • We've got Jerry Culver we got D'Angelo Russell.

  • We got car into towns.

  • They say, possibly Ricky Rubio get traded to us, so I mean, it's gonna be it's gonna be fun.

  • I mean, we got a lot of athletes.

  • You got a lot of scores.

  • You've got a lot of ball players.

  • It's nothing more you can ask.
