  • Just one game.

  • So just to go in there and win learns much possible and just grow as a player is winning rookie of the year ago for you or you focus on team success, I focused on success.

  • I mean, Rookie of the year is something that I do one of my list, obviously, but I just wanna go in there and just be the best player I can be is going there and learns where it's possible.

  • Grow as a player and just just learning under the best and just play my role and everything will come after that.

  • Thank you.

  • Next question will be from the three point conversion.

  • Hello, James.

  • This is rough video from a two point conversion.

  • But first, how does it feel just to be playing basketball?

  • Just knowing that you're about to get on the court and play basketball once again?

  • Man, it makes a great feeling this this draft process has been the longest for me.

  • So I've been working on my game, and I've just been actually playing pickup games of pros already.

  • So I began a lot of experience and but really just been man just focusing on myself.

  • And I'm just truly ready to play with these great guys, man, you got Steve Kerr is the head coach.

  • You got Steph Curry.

  • Klay Thompson got a lot of great players in that team, so I can't wait to go in there and just play my role and just grow as a player.

  • And then a follow up question.

  • I'm sure you know, you look at these guys.

  • You've been a fan of these guys on the Golden State Warriors.

  • But knowing that you come into a team that's ready to compete for a championship already in your rookie year, what goes to your mom when you think about that?

  • Um, there's no pressure.

  • I've been playing this game for a long time, and I've been in winning traditions a lot, especially in Memphis, East High School and college as well.

  • So I mean, I'm built for it, and I'm ready to learn going there and learn and grow my game and just adapt.

  • Thank you.

  • The next question will be Where is he?

  • We'll try Darfur Day again.

  • Hey, W here from Italy.

  • So, James, for several Congratulations.

  • Um, what if what do you think is going toe?

  • Make you effective on a team like the Warriors who are aiming for a championship?

  • Just being a girl from the guys, like, just learned from the guys.

  • Just grow.

  • I'm great at adapting on the team, so I feel very comfortable with that.

  • Yeah, The next question will be Vegas sports James.

  • I just want to say congratulations on KJ.

  • Turks, Not the opportunity to interview you in Vegas off Jordan Brand.

  • Um, I just want to want to know what your thoughts are and how you've been able Thio sort of adapt during during this pandemic, where training and preparing for the draft kind of been thrown askew, and obviously, how you feel that both for your preparation.

  • And she was very hard.

  • It was a lot of adversity, but, I mean, I just managed just focus on myself and just keep working every day, keep working on my game and just staying humble and just watching tons of film.

  • Even I'm going to state warriors like watching films like watching a lot of film on teams, period, just like watching concepts like, you know, just being in college having a coach like Penny Hardaway and Mike Miller like I was already an MBA system.

  • So, like I know a lot of details of concepts within the game.

  • But just like this year has been hard.

  • I just managed, just focus on myself and just keep working every day and staying home.

  • Okay, The next question will be Ron Krajcik.

  • James and I worked for the San Francisco Chronicle.

  • Congratulations.

  • Um, I'm curious if there's one thing about your game that fans don't know.

  • We only saw you play three times in college, obviously, but everyone knows your size and wingspan and ability to run the court there anything.

  • Maybe that's not known about your game that you think will make an impact in the NBA.

  • I'll save my versatility.

  • Just being able to space the floor out, being there, knock down shots and just just going there just being a hot character guy and just, uh, just have lifted my teammates every day, even in practice and in in the game as well.

  • So, just being a high character guy and just a guy that just loves the work hard also a guy that could space out the floor and just be able to shoot the ball, which I've been working on this past summer and just my whole life working on my jump shot.

  • So he's gone away.

  • But next question will be Marc Spears.

  • What's up, James?

  • Congratulations, man.

  • Welcome to the day.

  • How you doing?

  • Um, how exactly did you get the news that you got selected by the Warriors?

  • Um, and your emotions when you got that call.

  • And when you think about what comes with joining and how it helps your career to join a group of veterans and not have to walk in and solve all the problems.

  • What kind of a great thing is that?

  • I mean, it's great in terms of my concept, because I could be able to learn, be able to grow my game, being able to adapt in that type of environment, which I can, and just going in there and just learning just help them grow in my game.

  • I mean, while I bust out in tears was because I've been through a lot, especially last year, like I text my teammates everyday in Memphis.

  • But like I wanted that moment with my teammates and then just saying all that, just just becoming, like a downfall.

  • I mean, like, man, I would just have to bust out in tears because I meant a lot of adversity in my life.

  • But I'm ready to go into go to state with a great mindset with a different mindset where they're going there and just learn as much as possible, grown my game and just adapt and just just work my tail off, you know?

  • And I've also heard names like David Robinson and Chris Bosch and Chris Webber.

  • You're getting pretty high praise when you here those comparisons.

  • Uh, well, how do you feel about that?

  • Great comparisons, because they always are Great players.

  • Potential Hall of Famers.

  • Well, Hall of Famers E.

  • I mean, as you could say that.

  • So I mean, it's a high praise, but I mean, I just wanna create my own thing, be my own player.

  • I'm James Watson on myself.

  • I'm offensive.

  • So I'm just going there again, growing and death and just stay humble.

  • Just working my tail off every day.

  • Thanks and congrats.

  • Thank you.

  • That question be Mark Medina.

  • James Mark Medina.

  • Here U S A.

  • Today.

  • Congratulations.

  • Thank you.

  • Have you been processing the unfortunate news with Clay's injury?

  • And where do you think you and the team go from here?

  • If there is a worst case scenario with that opening next season?

  • Mark, As soon as I seen that, it was kind of down for me, like emotionally.

  • But I mean the team, like we got his back no matter what.

  • And he's gonna be in great recovery, and I mean, turned my perspective like I just can't wait to go in there and just give my great my great contribution towards the team and just go in there and just learns much possible.

  • Like I said, just growing adapt within that environment and just play my position.

  • But, man, all praise be to Clay, my teammate, and he's gonna be just fine.

  • Okay?

  • The last question will be from Jason Dumas.

  • James.

  • How you doing, man?

  • Welcome to the Bay Area.

  • Appreciate it, man.

  • Appreciate it.

  • And I apologize if this has been asked.

  • I hopped on the chat a little later.

  • But can you tell me if you have a relationship with any of your new teammates already.

  • I know you participated in the Steph Curry elite camp when you're, ah, high school prospect.

  • Um, I guess Do you know any of them personally and just ah, what did you think of the team that you saw last year?

  • And then, obviously, the five year run that they had where they made the NBA finals every year?

  • Yeah.

  • So I have a relationship with stiff.

  • Um, obviously, I went to his camp, so he told me, like, a lot like when I was in high school.

  • He told me, like a lot about the game of basketball game.

  • A lot of information.

  • I just took a picture with him.

  • So that's my guy.

  • But really, going into this team is a great team to be on, especially coming from opposition.

  • I'm ready to go in there and just growing the death as a player learns much as possible under great vets and just just work my tail off every day and just stay humble and just win and just compete and just give my full effort.

  • So yeah, awesome man.

  • Appreciate you.
