  • according to the ringers, Kevin O'Connor, the Clippers and Knicks indeed have an interest in pursuing a trade with the Rockets For Russell Westbrook.

  • Stephen A.

  • Do you like the idea of Westbrook on the Clippers?

  • E do not.

  • I think that Russell Westbrook is the ultimate competitive, and, I think on the basketball court, in terms of his athletic ability, his ability to score the ball, etcetera, etcetera.

  • Obviously, he's a plus.

  • I would never insult him like that, but he is incredibly stubborn on def.

  • Your Kawai, Leonard and you desperately desperately need a quintessential point guard.

  • That's not what Russell Westbrook is.

  • He's a scoring machine, even though he can't shoot threes right now, he's a scoring machine.

  • You can't he can't be guarded one on one.

  • And he's a ferocious competitors, so all major props to him in that regard.

  • But I think that if you're gonna have somebody like like a Russell Westbrook, I think you he'd be better suited at the Garden.

  • Because obviously the Knicks have nowhere to go but up and he'll turn it out.

  • And the fans would love his competitive, his competitive fervor and the way he turned things up they love him for that.

  • I think you could put him in a multitude of places where his skill set would be put to better use.

  • But I think with the Clippers, with the personality that is Kawhi Leonard with the fact that he's supposed to close for you with the kind of things that they've got going on there.

  • You need a quintessential point guard, a floor general.

  • You don't need a scorer and a ferocious competitive disguised as a point guard.

  • You need it the other way around.

  • You need a Quint essential floor.

  • General.

  • I think somebody like CP three would be better for the Clippers, uh, than a Russell Westbrook.

  • I don't believe that the Russia Russell Westbrook being with the Clippers is an ideal situation or a drew holiday.

  • But I don't like this either.

  • Stephen A.

  • I love it.

  • I love the idea of Russell Westbrook on the Clippers because whatever may or may not be mawr ideal.

  • Let's deal with the idea of Westbrook on the Clippers.

  • Assuming, of course, that doesn't cost, um, Paul George, right?

  • Is he not a guy who sets up teammates?

  • Think about the season Paul George had with Russell Westbrook.

  • Russell Westbrook new.

  • I got to make that guy the guy and fed him.

  • Paul George had his best season with him.

  • I was with Russell Westbrook.

  • Think about the thunder.

  • Um, if they could have acquired back then Kawhi Leonard, think about that for a second.

  • Would we think about them differently?

  • Would we immediately immediately say that might be the favorites to win the whole thing?

  • Yes, Well, this is what this would be.

  • The problem with the Clippers.

  • Yes, a floor general is, as you say, who could make the offense more kind of coherent all the time.

  • And not just sort of station to station is great, But West Brook is a dynamic, tempo, pushing, athletic point shooting guard type playmaker, and that's really what they need.

  • They need a dynamic playmaker.

  • He collapses the defense.

  • When he gets to the paint, he can kick toe open teammates in in Paul, George and Kawhi Leonard, he has not only to high volume scores, but they're high percentage scores.

  • They can both really shooting.

  • I know you could talk about Paul George hitting the side of the backboard.

  • When can he shoot?

  • When the time comes, that's always gonna be the question.

  • But in terms of making the team better, they need dynamism at one right.

  • I like Patrick Beverley.

  • He can defend.

  • He can hit a shot, but he's not a dynamic guard.

  • Westbrook might be the most dynamic athletic You call him the best athlete ever to play the point guard position.

  • I've described him as Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson had a baby, right?

  • You put that guy and that kind of dynamism on this Clippers team, not to mention the intensity.

  • Stephen A.

  • You've lamented load management and this and that.

  • In fact, Westbrook's stubbornness and the way he competes, you know who he is.

  • A great competitors.

  • So is Westbrook, but their styles are different.

  • But I actually think this Clippers team could use some of that Westbrook style.

  • I love this fit well, you're entitled to your opinion.

  • I disagree, and the reason why I disagree is that let's remember that until Russell Westbrook arrived in Houston this past right before the season began, he hadn't been out of the 4th 1st round since Kevin Durant left Oklahoma City.

  • Uh, he's played with Kevin Durant.

  • He's played with James Harden and Kevin Durant.

  • He's played with James Harden, Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka and Reggie Jackson.

  • Uh, there's no title to show for it, then.

  • Obviously, Katie is gone.

  • And, of course, you've got the Victrola depots of the world who we saw who we we saw really, really shine.

  • Once he departed from O.

  • K C, and the ball was handed to him in Indiana.

  • Then we saw Russell Westbrook with Paul George, and they got sent home in the first round by Utah.

  • And then they got home in the sent home in the first round, again by the name by Dame Dollar and in Portland.

  • And so there's a multitude of opportunities that just hasn't reached fruition.

  • And each and every single time we've been able to look at Russell Westbrook and see that his three point shooting has been a hindrance.

  • When you're going up against Donovan Mitchell, who could shoot outside shots when you're going up against Steph Curry in the past, who can shoot outside shots when you're going up against Damian Lillard and C.

  • J McCollum, who can shoot perimeter shots, it would behoove you the one element we don't question Russell Westbrook's defense.

  • We don't question his athleticism.

  • We don't question his, you know his ability to score the ball.

  • We certainly would never questioned his fire and that competitive fervor in his belly.

  • The one thing we have questioned consistently about Russell Westbrook actually, two things is his decision making it a point guard and keep pivotal moments and number two, his three point shooting because they dare him to shoot at times from the perimeter.

  • And if you can't do it, you're going and you take many shots, as he took because he took about 22 shots game this year.

  • When you do that and you can't make perimeter shots at a decent clip, you're going to hurt your teeth when it counts.

  • And that is why I don't think the one thing I want to say to you, does this Max, Ty Lue being the coach.

  • You could actually change my mind with that, because if there's one coach that would not be hesitant to get in his face and to try to force him to do the things that he needs to do, that actually works for him.

  • It's tie Lutai Lewis.

  • That kind of coach.

  • So in that regard, I think it would be a plus.

  • But in terms of the players themselves, no, Westbrook is the dominant personality, and Kawhi Leonard has shown us improving tow us that he's a bit indifferent.

  • He'll take care of his business.

  • But in terms of galvanizing folks around him, he doesn't have that kind of personality.

  • Which leaves it to Russell Westbrook.

  • And I don't know if that's a great thing for the Clippers.

  • And yet Kawai is an Alfa.

  • You're right about that.

  • And yet, co I know like Kawai is very secure about his own stuff, right?

  • In a way, maybe K D wasn't early in his career when he was a younger man.
