  • on November Masters without Spectators or azaleas, you'd better believe it.

  • I'm Andrew both, and this is sports file.

  • After being played in the early spring since its inception in 1934 the Masters this year moves to a late autumn date due to health and safety concerns.

  • On when the first round begins at Augusta National on Thursday, viewers will notice several distinct characteristics rarely, if ever seen before.

  • For example, gone will be that profusion of colors pink azaleas on Dwight dogwoods that normally light up Augusta National in the spring and make Amen Corner famous around the golfing world.

  • Also without Spectators.

  • There are no gallery ropes, which gives the course a more natural look that the members enjoy the rest of the year.

  • And without Spectators, there will be none of those roars that customarily ripple through the pines, letting everyone on the rest of the course know what is going on.

  • A proverbial Bush telegraph, if you will, that sometimes makes it unnecessary even to look at the leader board.

  • As for the weather this year, there were thought so it would be cold.

  • But it's actually gonna be quite warm, if not downright toasty and storms air in the offing every day.

  • Also, because of the shorter daylight hours, the players will use a to T start with half the field going off the first tee on half off the 10th so everyone can be done by about 5 p.m. Which is when darkness falls.

  • The field this year has 93 players, which is about normal.

  • Tiger Woods is the defending champion, but he has not been playing very well recently.

  • Rory McIlroy will go for the career Grand Slam, but the man to beat is the new kid on the block, Bryce and D.

  • Shambo, who blew away the field by six shots of the recent U.

  • S.

  • Open and his is hitting the ball enormous distances, really, if ever seen in the golf world before.

  • De Shambo is talking about putting a 48 inch shaft driver in his bag, which is the maximum allowed under the regulations, and if he does so, he would be the first player to use that and he would start hitting the ball, probably even further than ever before.

  • Away from the course.

  • Hotels are still reasonably easy to come by, and prices there about normal, unlike in April, when price gouging is rampant.

  • Also, there will be very few people lining up for restaurants, which is also another change from April, when sometimes accused form for two hours at some of the city's more popular eating establishments.
