The warning came as the US faces its worst surge.

On Saturday, the country hit yet another grim milestone, reporting a record of more than 130,000 new daily cases.

Meanwhile, Europe, with about 12 million cases, is the worst affected region, overtaking Latin America.

It also makes up almost a quarter of Corona virus deaths, the surges testing healthcare systems across Europe and prompting Germany, France and Britain to order many citizens to their homes again.

 More than 1.25 million people have died from the respiratory disease that emerged in China late last year.
