Don lost her cat and went around the island is searching for him, but he was nowhere to be found.

What she did find, however, are dozens of stray cats with bad state of health.

So she decided to change her plans.

Instead of buying a beach house with her retirement money, she decided to move to Cyprus from the UK and open cat shelter.

And she spent all her money on cat food.

Taking care of cats is expensive.

They feed them, clean them and get them up for adoption.

And she's been doing this with volunteers for six years.

Don did lose her cat but ended up finding 800 other cats.
