  • Freddie.

  • Are the Packers the biggest deadline losers, Would you say very easy to say that, but I'm going to say that the Houston Texans, where the biggest deadline losers because you have a quarterback into Shawn Watson, who you believe in who you honestly believe could be in a lead quarterback.

  • But what are you doing when it comes to the future when it comes to him?

  • You have five different guys in terms of wide receivers on your team that you could have traded and gotten some assets for him later on.

  • For example, will full of the fifth only 26 years of age Brandon cooks Randall Cobb.

  • Three of those guys are mentioning, and you don't have a first a second round pick in the draft next year because the Laramie Tunsil trade that you were able to move on from him.

  • So if you're gonna be the Houston Texans with no coach and no GM, what makes that an attractive landing spot for anybody that you would think about hiring as a coach in the G M and you're wasting the best years of John Watson's life?

  • So if you're gonna have that kind of approach of you to Houston Texans.

  • You get what you deserve.

  • You had a chance to at least try to jump start that next year with the draft and maybe free agents and make it a little bit more of an attractive team for anybody wants to take on those two jobs and help your quarterback.

  • But you didn't do that.

  • The trading deadline.

  • You have assets you could have moved on from and could have helped the better next year.

  • But you didn't do that.

  • So if you're the Houston Texans once again, another complete fail.

  • You deserve what you deserve to be at one and six.

  • And your future is a lot more uncertain because you don't do anything of certainty at the trading deadline to help your future.

  • Especially when it comes to your quarterback.

  • You know, that's a That's a good one, Fred, but I want to go with the Green Bay Packers.

  • I mean, you're talking about with with, you know, the one thing we talked about with the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers and the lack of weapons on the outside.

  • You know, when you just look at the Green Bay Packers in its totality have gone from breath.

  • Fall off the Aaron Rodgers and they only have what you know.

  • Aaron Rodgers only have one championship.

  • Most people think that that's just underperforming by the organization.

  • And a lot of people who say, Well, why don't we get Aaron Rodgers?

  • More weapons?

  • Okay, Davante Adams is one of the best wide receivers in the National Football League.

  • But when you look at the weapons behind him, the next guy Zalazar, he's missed the past four games.

  • A lot of these young guys there's the Green Bay Packers are still waiting on, uh, you know to really complement Davante Adams.

  • So when you look at the Green Bay Packers, they had an opportunity yesterday to go out and get another big play wide receiver.

  • Maybe a guy like Will Fuller, who could have complimented Davante Adams and really added something to the Green Bay Packers offense.

  • We know they like to run the ball, but Aaron Rodgers, on the back nine of his career, What better way to help your your your you know, your first ballot first ballot Hall of Fame quarterback than adding another piece on the outside to really help that offense, even Mawr.

  • All right, well, let's see what Keyshawn Johnson has to say.

  • Keyshawn, the question that we post here was were the Packers the biggest deadline losers?

  • Now, Freddy?

  • He said that the Houston Texas were the biggest Houston Texans were the biggest losers.

  • Of course, Damon, you just heard, said the Packers were What's your take?

  • You know, I don't think that Green Bay is and and I understand what everybody is kind of not necessarily up in arms, but I understand where people are coming from in terms, off wasting and Rogers time in Green Bay.

  • But here's what I would say and Rogers have plenty of time left.

  • He could play well into his forties if he could stay healthy and still be productive as he is ever been.

  • When you look at the Houston Texans, for instance, and will fuller situation because that's the name that's been out there, what everyone looking to trade them, the deadline's passed.

  • The deal didn't get done, but Will Fuller on an expiring contract.

  • This isn't the n B A.

  • If you're gonna take a guy like that and put him in Green Bay, you gotta take into consideration.

  • Davante Adams is sitting there with one year left on his contract as well.

  • How much money does Davante Adams deserve?

  • And how much money does Davante Adams want?

  • If you bring in Will Fuller and you pay him?

  • Guess what?

  • You now gotta make me as Davante Adams, one of the top A wide receivers in the National Football League.

  • So do you want to tie up a potential $35 million or so into two wide receivers?

  • Or are you saying that I'm gonna give up a second round pick, for instance?

  • Hypothetically speaking, I don't know the number.

  • I mean, I don't know the pick that the Houston, Texas.

  • We're looking for him, but let's just assume it was a two.

  • Are you willing to give up a second round pick?

  • A pick that you used in the past to get Jordy Nelson to Davante Adams to now have a guy for, let's say, 67 weeks, giving his history of injuries and even the fact that you may not even make it as far as you think, because you added a wide receiver and you gave up a pick and now you're going up against the Tampa Bay team or New Orleans ST team or Seattle team that you get bounced in the divisional round.

  • Okay, I think the biggest curse for Aaron Rodgers, the fact that anybody you put next to him and you know this as well as anybody, he makes that team better.

  • He makes those receivers better, those receivers able to raise their game better.

  • That's the problem that Green Bay ran into because they're thinking as long as we got Aaron Rodgers, we got a chance.

  • We could put anybody out there on bloody stumps and we got Aaron Rodgers and we got a chance.

  • And that's the problem.

  • The Green Bay Packers, where they said, Well, we as an organization felt that we were not going to be on the same page getting that wide receiver.

  • Well, don't you think?

  • Aaron Rodgers, even at this point of his career, where he's a little older, was still in the quarterback.

  • Don't you think he is worth to try to find somebody else?

  • If you could make a deal with the Houston Texans to see who else is out there, They always believe that he is the perfect sanitizer.

  • Whatever goes on their football team, and that's been a problem for Green Bay.

  • You have this great quarterback.

  • I can't even imagine how much better he could have been.

  • Have you been able to swing another trade to get somebody else to help him with Davante Adams and make Green Bay more of a contender in the NFC?

  • So So when we say somebody else right, we, we, we we look at who could that somebody's be?

  • Maybe Brandon cooks.

  • I mean, you don't get a second rounder for him or a third rounder, but Brandon cooks would have been a perfect robin to the Batman that you have, because there's a Adams.

  • There's no question.

  • Are you willing, though, to pay Brandon cooks the money that's on his books and his contract?

  • Knowing that you have Davante Adams that you have to now address?

  • Are you willing to tie up $40 million.35 million in one position in two guys?

  • That that's what you have to look, too?

  • It's not, can't do.

  • They need a receiver.

  • Everybody needs a receiver.

  • I mean, let's face it with everybody needs us, but But when you look at it is it something that you're willing to do.

  • And if you're willing to say, okay, I'm gonna pay.

  • I'm gonna pay Brandon cooks the money that's owed to him on the books.

  • And but I'm also going to address Davante Adams and pay him what he s o deserves then, Yeah, you go out there and you trade for him.

  • But you have to trade for a difference maker.

  • Just getting a body to be getting a body.

  • I mean, you could find that guy on the streets if you're going to trade for somebody.

  • Like if you told me, you said, Hey, Atlanta's willing to move Julio Jones and they want to get a two in a three and next year's to.

  • Would you be willing to do that?

  • Absolutely, Absolutely.

  • I'll be willing to do that with his contract.

  • Thanks for watching ESPN on YouTube for live streaming sports and premium content.
