  • Lakers dropped 80 in the first half.

  • And don't look back.

  • Danny Green kind enough to join us now.

  • And Danny, I could start with the basketball game, but everybody at home will be asking the same thing.

  • Which is what is up with your hat game.

  • So explain that to me, please.

  • Just in Florida, man.

  • When I'm on vacation, I bring my my bucket has out.

  • So this is my keep the Gator away hat say instead, we from alligators in the woods that's got the alligator repellent on it.

  • Doesn't I understand.

  • I understand it doesn't, but that's okay.

  • I'm fascinated, Danny, by the whole concept off this experience for you.

  • It's a bubble environment.

  • We understand it's now a playoff game.

  • The stakes are are serious.

  • You guys have a ton of vets.

  • You've been through this, but you've never been through what this is.

  • How have you all collectively figured out what best works?

  • I'm just taking a day at a time and step.

  • At the time, we knew it was gonna take us a while to get our chemistry and rhythm back.

  • We're still not where we wanna be, but we know we're getting better.

  • You know, we're finding each other.

  • We're trusting each other, trusting the system, trust in the process and, you know, starting to have some positive vibes going on and feel more confident about ourselves offensively and defensively.

  • Uh, luckily, you know, we are defense has been pretty good for the most part, um, offenses where struggles is.

  • But a lot of times, you know, you need that a couple of bucks to go in s.

  • So it was good.

  • Thio finally hit some shots for some guys.

  • Get some confidence going and, you know, put a game together.

  • We have a good defensive end and a good officer and usually said last.

  • I guess a couple games first couple games was mostly a defensive type of floor for us, and that's how we won those games.

  • But tonight was good to get out and running because you all have so many veterans that understand what it takes.

  • I don't imagine that the chatter about Portland being dangerous and then them winning impacts you it all.

  • I do wonder, though, how you digest any conversation about them having been a threat to you all.

  • I mean, we know how good this team is.

  • You know what they're capable of.

  • Obviously, they haven't been in her purse and help most of the season getting nervous back.

  • They had college back for a short stint.

  • Um, you know, relist thickly.

  • They're not a C.

  • They're more of a four or five seed, maybe even higher if they have their full strength, full health for most of the season.

  • But what they've done in those bubbles inspiring the way they've been playing, Um, you know, together as a group and winning most of those games being down, you know, outside of playoffs about three or four games and coming back and, you know, get into that A.

  • C.

  • It's probably exerted a lot of energy.

  • So, you know, to our advantage.

  • We was hoping that they would run out a little bit of gas, but, you know, it seems as if they're still kind of going, but way can't take anything for granted.

  • We can't assume that they're gonna be, you know, low on energy.

  • We got to come out and play because those guards with Melo and all those pieces they have together and put a lot of pressure on us and we have to continue coming with that focus in that same intensity.

  • Big picture.

  • Danny.

  • I'm sure you've talked a bunch about it, but this is the first time we've done our show in a bit.

  • So if you'd indulge me just about the idea of the lack of fans, I think about how much energy they provided you guys on your title runs.

  • They last year.

  • Andi.

  • And just not having that.

  • How do you make up for what you get?

  • Typically from the people that are in the arena?

  • Yeah, That's a strange man.

  • It's weird even doing this interview with you.

  • Uh, nobody around you.

  • Everything.

  • Zoom called.

  • Nobody in the stands.

  • Um, but I like to look at the positive.

  • You know, there's no home court, but there's also no road.

  • So we're on the road.

  • We don't have to be worried about you know, the other team's fans trying to get at us or distracting us or affecting us, you know, So we could, you know, playing a road just like it's at home.

  • Um, but yeah, it takes the time to get used to it.

  • Strange.

  • Just the backdrop of the arena.

  • Uh, just the atmosphere.

  • Um, so it's different and at the same time said, Ah, lot of our focus here now, which I forgot to mention, is what's going on outside of this bubble, the bigger picture than the world on the people who have not gotten justice yet.

  • Obviously want still fighting for justice.

  • For Bianna Taylor on There's a new one coming out today, Jacob Blake is ridiculous.

  • Things that are still going on.

  • You would think police would be more mindful of how they act towards people of color or people in general when they stop someone.

  • But it seems as if it's still going on, even with things that sensitive nature or the things that is being emphasized throughout the world.

  • People are still being killed.

  • Um, so we wanna make sure that we emphasize that continue to focus on that on Let the people know.

  • Obviously, we love playing basketball in computing here, but the bigger picture on the outside for us is a focus is, well, right and that the attention that you all have in the platform that you have, I think we clearly saw that after what happened in Wisconsin, it's a chance to amplify that message again on there's that and then you have Thio.

  • I do understand you juggle that with what your job is and what you're hoping to do, which is when another title and tonight felt like a step in the direction where maybe you guys found a gear that you hadn't had.

  • I just wonder as a final thought what maybe you found tonight that translates moving forward, just our pace.

  • You know, we're getting back toe who we are and our best offenses us out and running.

  • Obviously way.

  • Have a good half court set we can score.

  • But our best offense for us is getting because you're getting stops and running.

  • Uh, because we're forced when bronze downhill A.

  • D is running, uh, develop me Casey on the wings and our wings winning running the wings and getting shots in the corner Getting deep.

  • Um, so that's our best offense, but we gotta play defense to get that offense going so way.

  • We're trying to play in the half court less and less as much as we can because we know our strong points in our strength is getting out and running and then hopefully strengthen us.

  • Get back on defense, Danny.

  • Thanks for taking the time.

  • Continued success.

  • All right?

  • Yeah.

  • Thank you, man.

  • Appreciate it.
