You have a pie lodge at the Grand Canyon National Park.

Yeah, and we just got here yesterday around 4 p.m. Which is the check in time.

And right after we checked in, we went out to go see some of the views at Grand Canyon National Park because they're known for their awesome sunrise and sunset views.

So we had to go through the sunsets, which you must do.

It's like a must.

So we're located by the South Rim and South Room is where you could either just walk on the trail or you can drive on the desert drive and a super close to the visitor center.

It was only like a three minute drive.

It's really close.

So we're inside the national park.

Andi also, it's a super pet friendly lodge.

And we've seen so many dogs since we've been here already.

Yeah, so they made all the pet friendly rooms on the west end eso all of our rooms, like overall, right next to each other.

They all have dogs.

Yeah.

You know, I was a little bit worried that our room will be, like, smelly and probably gonna give us the older rooms because we have dogs.

But I was pleasantly surprised.

Everything here looks brand new.

It looks like they just redid this whole room.

It smells fresh.

Don't have that weird dog smell on.

They provided ah, huge dog kennel on like a dog will like they were prepared for the dog lovers and the dog owners who are coming here.

They even included a treat too.

So, yeah, that's nice that they did that.

They do charge a pet fee as $25 per night and the cost for us right now, it's July 2020.

It was about $150 per night.

Now, this is during the pandemic to so and they just opened, Um, not too long ago, maybe a few weeks ago.

So maybe they're still on the lower end because I know the summer months, we're really busy.

But it wasn't that busy when we went out last night.

So I think they're just slowly picking up right now because they we were driving down the parking lots there pretty scarce, like there's not a whole lot of cars, so I mean, I don't feel like here The only places that are taken up for the dog friendly rooms.

Yeah, but we haven't been on the other side.

The other side, they just separate it.

So they separate the pet friendly rooms and then the regular room, which is good, because, you know, some people don't like pets, so get totally separate us.

Also, when you're driving in, don't be scared, because from the outside, this place looks small and it looks kind of creepy.

To be honest, it's really old.

I feel like the ceilings are pretty low.

So from the outside, just looks like this Really small, like Looks like old Motel.

Yeah.

I was a little bit nervous coming in.

Like I hope it doesn't.

Outside doesn't resemble the inside, and it doesn't.

So I did a really nice job remodeling and the beds were actually really comfortable.

I like my bed, my pillow, not so much.

And move the horrible.

I'm just used to my own pillow, So yeah, I mean, I was okay with the pillow to come.

I actually really like the pillow.

Yeah, it was like Touma was like tossing her like pillows around last night.

That was pretty funny.

What's funny?

All right, So we're going to give you a room tour.

This room comes with two queen size beds and we have plenty of room.

Me a coma slept on this bed and candy stepped over here.

She had a nice at all to herself and in the middle.

We have the night stand that we shared together, and they have to USB plugs into normal plugs, which we're actually using right now.

We love USB plugs because, you know, we don't have to carry that extra cube charger, so yeah, we're utilizing it right now to turn our phones underneath is some tissue, not a big fan of the tissue that they provide.

It's like it feels like sandpaper.

So I wish I had brought my own tissue paper right in front is a little working desk area, and we really like this lamp.

It's like a cool looking lamp, very modern, and again, they have two plugs here and two USB plugs and some space where you can place your items that you can place your laptop in such inside here and some chairs, and you can also utilize it.

Thio, eat your meals here too.

I'm talking about how to keep the guests safe.

So as we mentioned earlier, we are going through a pandemic.

Sto.

They lifted up some restrictions a month ago, but then some states pulled back because everyone's again.

But in some areas, it's still okay.

So it's still kind of like this, you know, like what's going on.

But since places are opening were like, we decided to check out some places, and this just ensures you that they are sanitizing everything and abiding by the CDC guidelines.

So over here we have the TV, and it's very large and they provide basic cable.

But last night, when we're trying to watch something, it said weak signals, so sometimes you won't be able to watch TV.

It did come back on eventually, but just keep that in mind that you won't be able to watch TV all the time.

Not that we do, but we just like to have something in the background.

So that's why we always put it on and always seems to be the office.

For whatever reason, we were on vacation.

Um, and they also provide hand to hand sanitizer, which I feel like a lot of hotels are doing now is just part of their basic toiletries that they provide.

So I like that.

I like having these, uh, travel hand sanitizers.

Just take these with us.

An ice bucket, individually wrapped, a plastic cups.

They also provide instant hand sanitizer wipes that like Jesus well, were to utilize one of them to wipe the remote control.

You have some drawers you can use to store your clothes or whatever else you need.

So we start some of our things like our coolers and such in here just to keep it out of our way.

So here's the fridge is a pretty good size fridge.

Um, the only thing is, there is no freezer in here, which we usually like freezer, so we could put our ice packs in there.

So once you get the ice packs frozen, then we can put our coolers again.

But we just put in the fresh to cool again.

Not a big deal.

I'm gonna finish off the rest of the room, which does not much left.

There is a little stand here where you can sit and put your shoes on.

Relax.

But I actually I'm gonna put my suitcase there, and that's gonna be my suitcase standing silent, like putting my suitcase on the floor.

So that's what I'm going to use that.

For instance, Crystal likes to use that to, um they do have one of these, but we're not utilizing this this time.

Just because there's, like, this huge candle right here and come on does not need a kennel because she's such a very well behaved little girl.

So we're just going to use this and put that crystal's not Tom suitcase on top of this, and then the closet is I mean, it's a good size.

I mean, we're we're just here for the weekend, So I mean, 34 hangars, each, just plenty for us.

So we just hung up some of our clothes.

Got a safe.

Interesting.

I've never been to a hotel where they provided a steam a steamer instead of an iron and an ironing board, which I kind of like that because I always having to set up the ironing board and extra blankets, which last night we didn't have to use it.

Um, they do provide central heat and air here.

So, you know, just use it and it's the new one.

It's not like the old school ones.

We just pull, like, left or right, Like you can actually, you know, push the buttons up and down LG shout out to L.

G s.

So the last thing is the bathroom, which is pretty basic.

It's kind of tiny.

Um, they did remodel it, but I felt like remodeling could have been done a little bit better.

The one thing that me and Christa had problems with was there was nowhere to store stuff.

So all of these cubes were filled with towels, so we had to move a lot of the towels around so we could have some place to put like our toothbrush are toiletries, the shower eyes very basic, I guess.

Looks like they didn't really upgrade this, But you know what?

As long as I get a hot shower, I'm happy and get a hot shower.

So the water pressure is pretty average, and they give you, you know, shampoo, conditioner, body wash.

And it's actually pretty nice products is from bed bath, a bath and body works aromatherapy, and it was actually pretty nice.

I liked it.

I will say one thing.

They did do great with that.

Great is the mirror because it's got the light coming in from the top in the bottom.

That is always great for applying makeup.

All right, so that's our room tour.

Um, it's a fairly small room.

Very average for a hotel room.

Yeah, but they provide you all the basic necessities.

The hot water is great.

I hate it when it's lukewarm water.

And sometimes, you know, basic hotels that becomes I don't know, Like that's one thing I'm like, Oh, on the show is probably not gonna work right.

But it works great.

It drains properly, So, yeah, that's one of my pet pizza hotels drains properly.

Way There is one thing we forgot to mention.

The actually view is really nice in here waken see like squirrels running around.

I actually see one right now.

Like a little yeah, we're running.

So yeah, it is a nice view.

And you might even see an elk because when we first pulled into the lodge, we saw some l could just browsing around and where we're driving around, we've seen plenty of them is well, usually walk around.

I would say in the sunrise.

Yeah.

So make sure you're kind of drive drive slow, so they just appear out of nowhere sometime.

Yeah, because he ran into, like, three times or anything.

I've been here for a day, so yeah, every time, like, Oh, my God, we're, like, so excited.

So cute.

And they are mama one and a baby.

I know.

And they walk really, really slow, so they will take their time Way.
