Angry protests flared in at least two major cities in Italy on Monday night against a new round of government restrictions, including nightly curfews on violence has followed some of the demonstrations.

Witnesses say a number of luxury stores, including a Gucci fashion shops, were looted in Turin as crowds of youths took to the streets after nightfall, letting off huge firecrackers on lighting colored flares.

Police responded with volleys of tear gas.

There were also clashes in Milan, whose surrounding areas were hit hard during the early stages off the pandemic.
