  • Why would they draft?

  • Why would they draft Jalen rigor when I believe Justin Jefferson was still on the board?

  • If you wanted, they needed that.

  • They thought they needed that time.

  • Type of white out is what you're gonna say.

  • But hold on, hold on.

  • I wanna back up.

  • If you think about injury for your quarterback Lewis, would you split him out wide to use him as a blocker?

  • Is that what you would do?

  • He's coming.

  • He had a catastrophic injury, nor would you do that.

  • Okay, well, see, now we'll see now.

  • Now what we're doing here is he.

  • Now you're looking for a data point looking for something to rationalize your opinion on Carson Wentz saying this?

  • Well, the reason why they put him out there because they don't care, they're gonna have a block.

  • Because you know what?

  • They're not really worried about it.

  • I want to go back to last year about You said it was a miracle that he played into these layoffs.

  • He let me just She's not They're not doing that because they don't care about him anymore.

  • They're trying to manufacture offense because they don't have anybody there to manufacture offense with right, so trying to do so that's addressed back in the second round.

  • They use them as a blocker, and it's all because they think that they made a wise investment look last year when he pulled this so called miracle, it was against the worst division ever until this year's division NFC East, right.

  • And he did it against pathetic teams, by the way, in the NFC East.

  • And he did it, turning the ball over frequently in the second half of games on third downs.

  • They were lucky to win some of those games, by the way, every quarterback in the NFC East and they were backup quarterbacks.

  • They were rookie quarterbacks, performed better against the teams.

  • Carson Wentz was supposedly performing miracles against then Carson Wednesday.

  • Every quarterback.

  • His face.

  • So far this season, Lewis has had a higher passer rating that Carson Wentz.

  • He has eight turnovers in Eagles territory in six games so far this season.

  • Making it up that Max, I'm acknowledging that I'm acknowledging that he is not playing well, but you know what?

  • The reason?

  • The only reason why they won those games down the stretch last year wasn't because every team they played against stunk.

  • That's not the only reason.

  • It's not.

  • The only reason they want isn't because every other team was just saying Hey, right this way.

  • Greg Ward, Right this way.

  • I mean this a Carson.

  • Just throw this touchdown pass.

  • We're just gonna let you do.

  • That's not the only reason why they won the game.

  • You have to get the young man some credit due as to his ability to elevate those guys around him.

  • I do is very tough balance of the great arm, and he's tough.

  • He's capable of making a miracle level playing one game.

  • So we're 401 Western.

  • Oh, wait a minute.

  • We've heard your 00.1000 times.

  • What I'm saying is this Excuse me, he's 27.

  • He's showing you his talent.

  • You've acknowledged his toughness.

  • You recognize the fact that he's got a plethora of injuries that he's had to work with, and still you're sitting here with a straight face is saying the Eagles regret signing him.

  • Their behavior tells me they do what behavior i e.

  • What, you want to hear it again.

  • They drafted a quarterback in the second round.

  • They split him out wide to block.

  • He is.

  • He got three years in a row, three years in a row.

  • He's got quite highly questionable durability.

  • Why this block?

  • What using was a block or two manufacturer?

  • One plate of offense.

  • If you're that worried about his health, well, first of all, as Dan Orlovsky explain to you the other day, was a tight end and missed his assignment.

  • He was supposed to do that, but that's a different story for another day.

  • Look, they don't regret it.

  • The Eagles right now need Carson Wentz to elevate them.

  • When you pay a quarterback franchise quarterback money, it's to make you competitive, even when you shouldn't be to win games, even when you can't because you're devoting an enormous amount of your resource is toward that position.

  • Lewis.

  • I get everything you're saying.

  • If he was a second or third year quarterback on his rookie deal, I would get it.

  • He's 1/5 year starter on a friend, You say.

  • What about Derek Carr?

  • But look at how good he is looking now.

  • I agree.

  • I e.

  • The racers did regret it.

  • Well, you know what?

  • I I understand your argument of, you know, elevating and making everyone else better.

  • But see, See, that's like That's just such a convenient thing to say.

  • When you already have this preconceived notion in your head about somebody, you'll start pointing the things that will continue to support your preconceived notion.

  • I think that's a football observation.

  • I don't think it's true in this case, right?

  • Okay, listen, listen.

  • Football is the ultimate team support.

  • It's just this, okay?

  • There is a lot of things that are going on in the course of a football game that will lead to success and failure, wins and losses.

  • I'm not absolving Carson Wentz at all.

  • We've all seen the place where you sit there and go.

  • Carson, what are you doing?

  • You know better than that.

  • You are better.

  • And they told him the same thing.

  • They told him the same thing.

  • But you also can't discount the fashion.

  • Look, I'm telling you from first hand, I'm telling you first hand that last year they were peace milling things together.

  • Like putting it together on a napkin, drawing it up in the dirt every week for these guys.

  • For them to just put a functional offense out there on the field.

  • Lewis.

  • Are you serious?

  • Executing at a very high level?

  • Lewis.

  • Are you hearing anything out of Philadelphia as to the amount of control or the amount of kind of compliance Carson Wentz has and running the offense, how often he changes things and and how interested he is truly and running the offense because I hear he has plenty of control over the offense.

  • Sure, I can't sit here and give you, like a detailed explanation as to how much control he has.

  • How Maney plays.

  • He's changing.

  • You know how many things that he is doing on his own relative to what Doug's telling them to dio.

  • But I do know this.

  • I know Doug Peterson.

  • I do know this.

  • I know Doug Peterson very well.

  • I know how Doug coaches.

  • I know how he feels about Carson.

  • I know the challenges that they faced last year at the end of the season in order to put a functional offense out there on the football field last year.

  • I know that firsthand.

  • They do not.

  • They have not lost faith in cars and he needs to be better.

  • But there are a lot of things that are coming together, that air, causing them to underperform and look, you can start with Carson.

  • That's fine.

  • That's fine.

  • But if I was sitting there, I would not regret having paid him.

  • What I would be pissed off about and be ticked off about disappointed about is the fact that I can't keep all my players on the field.

  • I don't even know what our offense could possibly, because you can never have every all my guys available.

  • If you have a quarter of a top five quarterback, I would expect him to be at least a top 10 quarterback.

  • He has over.

  • I'd say the last.

  • It's six games so far this season.

  • Take those last bunch of games last dozen games or so that he's played been a top 15 quarterback.

  • I'm not saying he's the worst guy in the league.

  • I'm not even saying he's an awful starter.

  • But a But the 15th best guy in a position was getting paid.

  • Is a top five guy, especially at that position, isn't doing good enough.

  • It's not good.

  • Return on investment.
