  • Chrome has many ways to customize your browsing experience, such as changing your startup page, personalizing the new tab page and using the Web store to install extensions and themes.

  • Your startup page is the first page that appears whenever you start chrome by default, it's this page, but let's change that by clicking the more button in the top right corner, then selecting settings.

  • Scroll down to the on startup section, choose open a specific page or set of pages and select.

  • Add a new page type of Web address into the text field, such as ESPN dot com and click.

  • Add.

  • Now.

  • Whenever you start the browser, it will take you to your chosen startup page.

  • Whenever you open a new tab, you will see the new tab page.

  • You can customize this page by adding shortcuts to Web sites you visit often.

  • First click Add shortcut Type of Web address in the L Box.

  • Let's type etc dot com.

  • You can also add a name, but that's optional.

  • Then click done.

  • A shortcut for the website will appear to remove a shortcut, hover over its top right corner and click the dots, then click remove while we're on the new tab page.

  • Let's go to the Web store, where you could find many options to customize chrome.

  • Click APS in the top left corner and select Web store.

  • The Web store lets you download a wide range of extensions and themes extensions at additional features to your browser, such as passwords, storage or blocking advertisements.

  • Let's search for one that will block ads As we browse the Web on the left, click the search bar type block ads and press enter.

  • You may need to click MAWR extensions to see all of the results.

  • As we read over the results, click one to check out details.

  • Screenshots and user reviews.

  • If you like what you see, click add to chrome.

  • Keep in mind that some extensions may ask for many permissions and may put your security at risk, so make sure to read this information carefully.

  • If you agree, click, add extension.

  • And don't worry if the download takes a little while.

  • If you want to get rid of an extension, click the more button.

  • Select more tools and choose extensions.

  • You can temporarily disabled one by clicking the on off slider or deleted completely by clicking remove, then click.

  • Remove again.

  • Now we'll return to the Web store.

  • To check out themes, open a new tab, select APS and Click Web store, then choose themes on the left.

  • Here you will see a variety of themes that can change the appearance of chrome by adding new colors and backgrounds.

  • Select one to check it out.

  • If you like what you see, choose, add to chrome.

  • While some themes blend in with your browser, others may make the text hard to read, so you may want to stick with the default theme.

  • To remove a theme, click the more button, then select settings.

  • Then, under the appearance section, click reset to default, and it will change back immediately.

  • Keep in mind that not all extensions and themes air created or approved by Google, so we recommend carefully reading the details and user reviews before installing.
