  • Today's story starts on a boat that doesn't have a lot of space.

  • This'll ceiling is really low there.

  • Plus these windows almost line right out of the water with E.

  • I haven't said it in a while and I miss saying it.

  • So if you're a regular viewer, welcome back.

  • E would say there's a 50% chance that my camera is gonna fall right now.

  • Let me let me show you guys.

  • Let me show you guys what this camera set up.

  • Looks like if this wind gets any stronger, that camera is going down.

  • There we go.

  • That's things.

  • Cameras definitely.

  • For those of you who have been following me since, like, last December and came with me to Canada, you will have known that this is my mom and my dad.

  • And unfortunately, we're down to my parents last three days here in Tokyo.

  • So we're trying to make the best of it.

  • We've come out to the Hama Dick Gardens today.

  • I don't I don't know if you even know what this places.

  • I've never been here and I had never actually heard of this place until my mom was like, Hey, those of these Gardens.

  • I'd like to go check it out.

  • And things is really, really nice.

  • A little bit of background, if you're interested.

  • These grounds used to be the private grounds off the Tokugawa show going on.

  • One of the highlights of this month was my dad and I got to go out and see Sumo.

  • How was it?

  • It was excellent.

  • Would you go again?

  • Oh, absolutely.

  • Yeah.

  • If you've never gone in seen sumo life, it's not as expensive as you think.

  • If you get the nosebleed seats way at the top, it's actually fairly cheap out.

  • I'll like I'll leave it right here.

  • I don't know how much it is off the top of my head.

  • Are you regretting that you didn't get to go see sumo?

  • No.

  • I got to see the Imperial Gardens.

  • I'm pretty cool.

  • They are pretty cool.

  • Yeah.

  • Speaking of cool gardens, though, this this is a cool garden.

  • This is one of the things that I'm enjoying about it the most.

  • The gap between this beautiful Japanese garden and nature, the trees and the bushes, Theo old tea houses and then in the background.

  • Let's just take a few seconds way my mom saying that she's a big fan of those rocks.

  • Steps like those stone I like the ones that are in the ponds that will take you from, like, one spot to another.

  • Yeah, Jump from rock to rock.

  • Yeah, those were cool to on that gets me thinking that pretty much everybody has their favorite point of coming to Japan.

  • Mind is that gap and I always love to share that gap with you The gap between the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and the little hidden spots and things like this.

  • And I'm gonna get my parents take on the last time we were here it was the temples and shrines.

  • This time I love thes garden se Imperial gardens and the gardens were out today I mean big gardens in the middle of this big city.

  • Yes, On there.

  • So quiet and peaceful.

  • Dad, Have yourself for me.

  • This time around, sumo wrestlers were awesome.

  • I've always watched it on TV.

  • It's not the same.

  • Really?

  • No, they're not.

  • Once again, we've been hunting temples in quiet places.

  • Like I think it's really odd that we come to Tokyo way, hunt out the quiet places in the midst of the city.

  • I choose to live here, and I still do that.

  • There's a lot of beauty, and there is this thing is the second time coming to visit me in Japan.

  • This'll is by no means a culture shock video, but I do love hearing about those experiences.

  • I know one of my mom and dad's and actually my big surprises when they first got in.

  • I rarely take taxis anymore, but we went to take a taxi.

  • Probably had way too much luggage because they just kept driving right by.

  • Ah, lot of taxis in Tokyo aren't equipped to handle people with lots of luggage.

  • All we got one.

  • Wow, that was fast.

  • It was a boring game.

  • I've never had a taxi just drive by me before.

  • I guess that many people in that much luggage just aim for a taxi that's in a Prius because they tend to have more space.

  • Or one of those, like bigger.

  • They had, like van taxis, right?

  • Yeah, there's one that I didn't even think about.

  • It's become so normal to me.

  • But both my mom and my dad were surprised about it.

  • When we get into the restaurant.

  • That's when you get your food ordered on It all comes out at different times.

  • Yeah, like we're used to.

  • Everybody gets their food at the same time on here.

  • E guess as it gets ready, it comes out.

  • So if you could be finishing your meal and the other person getting their meal and like now that I come to think about it, it's actually a pretty common thing that I never even e In what way?

  • Loathe on, I love how I just right out the window.

  • Let me show you the window.

  • Oh, having coffee in hand reminded me of one of your culture shots from the last time that you came to Japan, which was when you went into that cafe and they were like no fancy stuff.

  • Coffee only.

  • And then they gave you those, like tiny little coffees.

  • For those of you who don't know, that's not like there's not a super normal coffee shop in Japan.

  • That would be what's called a Kisa 10 and it's like a really old classic.

  • I'm looking around because I think I should be able to show you one, like right on this street, this one here is a lot more like a kiss.

  • Attend.

  • Also, the first time Mom and dad came to Japan, they thought that everybody dressed in a kimono was a geisha.

  • Thistle is one of those keys attend I was telling you about.

  • Yeah, this'll particular one is actually my favorite.

  • And I used to come here for breakfast all the time.

  • A little mini adventure.

  • My dad's been trying to get the peek a choo juice, but it keeps coming out of his other characters.

  • Nothing.

  • Zappos.

  • He's going again.

  • He's not giving up a lie, right?

  • Okay.

  • Some people do game centers.

  • My parents do drink machines.

  • It's vegetable, fruit, vegetable and fruit drink.

  • Is it any good?

  • Yeah, through good.

  • One more dads Just noticing that, like, up on top of the buildings, there are quite often trees, like you can see it up here.

  • While I'm not gonna pretend to know all the specifics, I know that there is, like, a building code or something that a certain number of the rooftops in the area have to have greenery on.

  • Yeah, you up to a tall building and you look down.

  • You'll often see a lot of buildings that have, like greenery on the roof.

  • Yeah.

  • Okay.

  • Alright, guys, I think we're gonna call this a wrap for today.

  • I kind of just want to get back to spending some time with my parents.

  • I think you can be a since this video has kind of been about the best part of coming to Japan and the best part of coming to Tokyo for me.

  • As I said, it's really about the gap between the old and new and everything like that for my mom.

  • It was really about the gardens, right?

  • And for dad, it was really about that, like, cultural experience with, like, the sumo and everything.

  • Right?

  • That was really fun.

  • I really enjoyed that sumo.

  • I think I might end this whole thing with just sumo.

  • What is it for you that makes coming to Japan or looking forward to coming to Japan?

  • That could let me know in the comments?

  • Don't forgive that, Like, Button some love on you all See you guys again real soon.

  • E o.
