  • We just got back from Santa Barbara with the dogs, and we wanted to share some great things you could dio with your dogs for a weekend or just for one day in Santa Barbara.

  • Here are top seven things you could dio in Santa Barbara with your dogs.

  • Number one.

  • You can walk along the beach with your dog so Santa Barbara is like there's a huge stretch of the beach and they have a proper walkway sidewalk for pedestrians and cyclists.

  • So it's the perfect place to just take a walk with your dog, too, and enjoy the awesome pants there.

  • There's also a lot of grass to yeah, plenty of grass if you have a dog like Huma, who only likes to run around and do its business on the grass.

  • Yeah, she's that type of dog where she doesn't have grass like she won't do her business.

  • So yeah, it's like a lot of like it's like grass and then sand.

  • So it's great that there was, like, a good amount of grass before you get to the sandy part.

  • Yeah, yeah, so you could lay out.

  • I mean, you could sit down at the beach if you want with your dog.

  • But we just kind of walked around it up and down.

  • And there's a lot of people picnicking like and have their own glass of, like glasses of wine out there.

  • Yes, you could do that to you could have a picnic.

  • Oh, by the beach front as well.

  • So definitely do that with your dog because it's Santa Barbara has, like some of the gorgeous views in California.

  • The weather is amazing, too.

  • Yes.

  • Oh, man.

  • So we went in July.

  • I'm sorry.

  • Is it No August August 1st.

  • And it was in the mid seventies, during the day and at night.

  • It was probably in the mid fifties.

  • Uh, no, that was in the sixties, mid sixties.

  • So yes, so from 65 to 75 it was just perfect.

  • Weather number two.

  • Hendry's Beach, which is also called Arroyo Burro Dog Beach or Beach.

  • The state park on.

  • But it is a dog beach, so there's a leash side and off.

  • Leash side, of course, went to the off leash side because our dogs love running around in the sand in the water, and there's also a restaurant there, but you cannot take dogs there because we were thinking of maybe stopping by there, but yeah, only service animals allow.

  • But, you know, I don't think you really need to go there, because the views again we're so, so bored is here.

  • You're right against the Cliffs Way.

  • Love off leash dog pages Because you know, the pumps love to run around and chase each other, and it's really hard to do that with the leash on.

  • So to have you know that run around freely is the best for us on this speech was gorgeous.

  • Actually, like this beach things dog beach more than Carmel for me.

  • But can he still likes the caramel dog beach?

  • A lot better, but I like this beach in Santa Barbara because we're right up against the cliffs and I think it's really cool.

  • Backdrop.

  • It's so nice.

  • Nice there.

  • I highly recommend going there with your dogs if your dog, especially if your dog likes water parking.

  • It was advised online to go there early.

  • If you want to snag a good parking spot way thought for what?

  • When we first got there, we thought it was only one area of this small parking lot, but there is actually more to the left of the place.

  • So if you don't make it in the first area, that's like really close to the beach.

  • Don't worry.

  • There's still more parking to the left.

  • And so we got there at 9 a.m. And the first parking lot that I went to was already getting full on.

  • We just got lucky and found it to our parking spot, which is like, perfect time.

  • Way actually left 20 minutes before the time expired.

  • So two hours is a lot of time.

  • Still, number three Funk Zone e don't know why I don't like that name.

  • I don't like that name either.

  • Sounds kind of e don't know.

  • Like it like a 80 year old person was like, Hey, let's just call this the function.

  • I don't know the funk sound, ladies.

  • Yeah, just sounds.

  • And it just sounds good.

  • Yeah, I don't know.

  • I don't like the name of it at all.

  • I don't like it either, but not just that.

  • Don't like the action area.

  • Yeah, the area was really fun, so we wanted to do a wine tasting here because there's a lot of places where you could do wine tasting.

  • But the place that we wanted to go to that was really friendly and had really good great reviews online.

  • It was called Palley Wine.

  • There already full way put our name on the waiting list.

  • But we still have four people ahead of us.

  • And it looked like, you know, people that already there were going to stay there for a while, So So it was a pretty, fairly small tasting rooms.

  • I kind of felt like it, like take a while.

  • I know some tasting rooms.

  • When I was kind of research, they actually have an hour limit.

  • Alright.

  • Yeah, they dio But we really like this area because again, a lot of the places around here a pet friendly so you could take your dogs told all of these places and restaurants and cafe.

  • Yeah, not just like wine tasting room.

  • Mm.

  • And as we were walking along the street, we had a lot of people that approach our dogs and give them so much attention which they loved.

  • They were just eaten up this attention.

  • So he just kept on giving pause.

  • Everybody hot everyone e don't know what people love them like Oh, nice to meet you too.

  • She knows that people love it, so she just keeps on doing it.

  • E think it's cute.

  • Number four, Stearns or way decided to go here after were like, You know what?

  • Let's just leave holly wine and go towards the sea because I did see that there waas a wine tasting.

  • They're called deep sea wine tasting like maybe you could try out there, maybe have a glass of wine, uh, with the waterfront view.

  • So we started heading that way.

  • It was pretty interesting.

  • I didn't expect the bridge to me would.

  • Yeah.

  • So this bridge is all made out of wood, not just for pedestrians to walk on, but for cars to drive on.

  • I thought it would be concrete, but yeah, it's interesting.

  • The way just kept on hearing these creeks and these boards, like moving and juggling like the nails.

  • You could see the nails kind of like e don't know.

  • I was like, Is this thing that fall apart a little scared, But I mean, I'm sure you know it's fine, but as we're walking towards the war for you, so we're on this bridge.

  • Gorgeous views.

  • The views of Santa Barbara.

  • You could really see, like, coastline on.

  • Really?

  • Yeah.

  • I'm glad we did that because I wasn't expecting this way.

  • We're just so focused on wine tasting e weren't thinking about views or anything, but they were looking to the side like, Oh, my gosh, look at the views.

  • It's so gorgeous s So I definitely recommend doing that bridge just like walking on it and eso as can you mentioned when you get there.

  • There are several restaurants.

  • Andi eateries.

  • So I went to the deep sea tasting room and we actually did get a table.

  • There was a wait list, but we actually got the table super fast.

  • Unfortunately, we didn't like our area because we were kind of, like put in the back in a corner where it was dark.

  • It was like a small little like, almost like an aisle or a hallway.

  • It was not comfortable at all horrible views.

  • So I'm like, Why are weighing?

  • Because we came here for the views?

  • Yeah.

  • So my recommendation would be if you're gonna go there, make sure you request to be on that top deck that's facing the gorgeous views, not the one that's facing the dock like we were.

  • Yeah, that was that was facing Exhale.

  • It's facing the ice cream shop.

  • Which way late into that ice cream shop?

  • Fantastic one of the best ice cream with waffle cone that I've had in a while because it z locally made right, I asked them, is that they make him there.

  • It's homemade there, so it was very creepy.

  • So, yeah, you know, if you don't do any wine tasting, if you don't eat there, you could just have some ice cream and enjoy the view.

  • How do the news?

  • And it's a great walk with the dog Number five, a self guided tour of Jeff Shelton's colorful architectures so you could do a walking tour.

  • But we did a driving tour because we were actually going back home before you left were thinking, You know what?

  • We should just drive around those architectural structures that we were talking about and see if we could just parked to the side and take pictures, and sure enough, we could, Plus, we could leave the dogs in the car.

  • The I'm always just stepped out of the car parking takes a picture, and it's not.

  • It's not in the touristy part of area.

  • So that's why you know, a little park just, like take photos, like these unique buildings or houses.

  • Some of them, like Were they all houses?

  • Yeah, they were all houses.

  • The ones we saw.

  • Yeah, I think some of them are like a business, some kind of corporate.

  • But the ones that we stopped by, we're all home.

  • Yeah, And then one person has, like, a sign outside, like this is home.

  • You're welcome to take pictures.

  • Just don't come inside.

  • Yeah, just stay on the sidewalk.

  • Yeah.

  • So, yeah, we had no idea these were actually residences on another one.

  • We saw they actually just came home from Viking somewhere.

  • Yeah, they're probably, like in their seventies, and we're like, Oh, wait, you actually lived way actually saw the owners.

  • Yeah, that own the whole That was crazy.

  • But I thought that was really interesting.

  • The homes were very different.

  • Especially one of them with all the paintings in front number six, uh, exploring downtown Santa Barbara.

  • So right now, with the pandemic going on you, they have a lot of road closures.

  • So you can walk along these streets with your dogs a lot easier than you could before on the streets air open.

  • So you know they have.

  • When we went on a Saturday and they had some music playing some live music playing and the reason why they have road closures as well so that they could have the businesses, um, come outside.

  • So a lot of the restaurants, you know, it's just outdoor dining.

  • So they just have tables lined up outside where people could enjoy the outdoors and eat and listen to some great music.

  • I say.

  • I thought that was like a really cool, fun area to be.

  • And it plus public market Thio has a lot of great food options way.

  • A wabi sabi, uh, which was Japanese food?

  • Excellent place, last but not least, number seven mil.

  • So this area, it's called the mill, and it has different things within this area, which is like a restaurant of Rui, they have some design, um, type of cafe cafe.

  • There is different things to do with the mill, but we specifically went thio third window brewing.

  • They do have beer tasting.

  • You could do there, but we didn't do that.

  • We just ate outdoors because they have a nice outdoor cafe area there.

  • They have, like, a brewery with like, a bar.

  • And then on the other side is the outdoor patio area where you could sit, eat and again lots of dogs.

  • They're So we were initiated.

  • Nice traded area.

  • And the best part about this place with food it was amazing way weren't really expecting much because there wasn't much to choose from on the menu.

  • And so we both kind of got small things.

  • Yeah, I just got a side salad and I was thinking, I e don't know.

  • I just didn't want a big, meaty burger, which that's what they had, And I was like, Yeah, I just want us sell it.

  • But they had a kid's cheeseburger.

  • Yeah, so I thought that would be perfect with them.

  • And they also have Belgium fries.

  • Yeah, they had a small and a large Belgian fries.

  • So I got a small Belgium fries and this cheese kids cheeseburger just in case it sucked.

  • And it was probably the best burger I've had in a while in the fries were awesome.

  • It was actually better than the Belgium fries I had in Belgium.

  • Yeah, I agree.

  • I think it was better and might salad, even though it was just a simple salad, that dressing was perfect.

  • It was nice in life.

  • They didn't drench it and then let us has so much flavor.

  • I'm just drag that.

  • They just picked this from their guard.

  • It was, like, super flavorful.

  • They provided, uh, water like dog bowls with dogs.

  • So that was nice.

  • Have some friendly conversations with people sitting around us too.

  • So it's a great place to just hang out.

  • So that was our top things to Dio in Santa Barbara with your dogs.
