  • Good morning everybody. It is a very warm day here in Tokyo, but we won't be in Tokyo for very long

  • We are heading to Ibaraki and when I say we I actually mean me and Sharla. Sharla and I are traveling today

  • So while we're in Ibaraki, I'm gonna be trying some things that I've never done before

  • I'm gonna be doing pottery which I'm really excited for. There's also gonna be a huge festival that I've never seen

  • I think we have this thing called Nebuta. So it's gonna be all these big

  • Floating lanterns that they pull along. We're also going to visit some nice parks, have a nice relaxing time, so, I don't know

  • I'm just excited. I've been ready to have a nice

  • Calm and peaceful trip. So I think this is gonna be good for me

  • I gotta grab my stuff and I'm gonna head to Tokyo Station

  • Catch an express train that I forgot the name of and then we're gonna go to Ibaraki. All right guys, that's everything

  • Let's go to Ibaraki

  • Okay, so the place we're at right now is called Kasama craft hills and it's really popping, there's a lot of people around today

  • and everybody's making their pottery and I'm gonna be next so we just watched a demonstration on how to do it and

  • There were a lot of steps can't remember most of them and I'm a little worried.

  • While I'm here, I can make two things. I'm just gonna do whatever I can

  • Because if I can do something then that's a success.

  • Oh, look at it, it's so daunting

  • Okay, so we just do we just wing the whole thing?

  • Oh man

  • Like this

  • Sharla, off camera: I forgot the next step. Emma: Okay, and then we like pull it out

  • S: Oh, from the inside? E: Yeah.

  • S: All right, doesn't look too bad.

  • 「掴んで上に」 S: Oh my god, it's so hard

  • Okay

  • Oh no, oh no

  • S: I have so much respect for anyone that can make a proper dish E: Oh no

  • Oh God

  • S: It's okay, she'll come save us. E: Save us!

  • E: Oh no, I think I've ruined it

  • E: Oh, she saved me S: Oh, wow

  • E: Oh my gosh S: She just like, transformed it into a new dish

  • S: 助けてぇぇ

  • I made it lumpy again

  • It's like, it's like this right?

  • I did it! So now I'm gonna be making a plate.

  • Oh my gosh. Oh shoot. Oh god, I got too ambitious.

  • E: How's this? S: Hey, they're similar. They're not completely different.

  • Yeah, oh my gosh. Wait, what are you doing? Are you still going?

  • S: Another cup. E: You're doing another cup.

  • E: You're unstoppable. S: I'm going to pick the best two.

  • E: Okay, maybe I'll do a cup aswell. S: Yeah, do a cup

  • Oh no

  • S: It's an interesting selection of shapes. They don't exactly match but

  • E: Yay!

  • E: Oh my gosh

  • S: Your plate looks good. E: Yeah, I'm happy with the plate S: The teacup looks really good actually, that could be nice.

  • Heck yeah

  • Here's my creations. I'm so happy with how they turned out. We have a bowl, a plate and a cup

  • I think they're gonna shrink down, but I'm so excited

  • And also I get to pick the glaze now and what colors I want so.

  • So here's Sharla's cups. You can have a full set

  • How do you feel?

  • S: Maybe firing them will make some miracle happen

  • This is the color that I went for so I'm gonna do both of mine in that color

  • And when I say both I've had to choose two of them to keep, so I'm keeping the plate and the cup.

  • They're gonna take the cup another plate and send it to me in like a month I think

  • So, I don't know if I'll be able to

  • Include what they look like in this video, but I'll at least upload it on my Instagram, on my Instagram stories

  • So if you're not following me on Instagram, you're missing out on some quality plates and cup content

  • These little plates are only 200 yen each. Look at them they're precious

  • E: 200 yen, dude S: Those are so cute

  • E: Think I gotta get one

  • Got little cherries

  • Hey we just take a break at the hotel

  • Sharla and I hung out a bit, she a nap and now we're going to matsuri. There's so many people. It should be good

  • The matsuri we're going to is matsuri tsukuba which has a lot of these guys. What are they called again?

  • S: Uh, the nebuta floats?

  • E: Yeah, so that'll be cool. I've never seen them before

  • Okay, so I just got kakigori - shaved ice - with cola flavoring on it, it's simple it's great

  • It was supposed to be this cute little mound, but I kept eating it from the other side. So it collapsed in on itself, but

  • It's cold, it's sweet, it's just what I need right now. Actually, do you mind if I try some of your agemochi? S: Oh please do.

  • So Sharla got agemochi what see which is like deep-fried mochi, but it's like

  • super chewy

  • E: Fried mochi S: You gotta eat two E: No!

  • It's got a sauce and seaweed on it, so

  • S: See what I mean?

  • The crispy edges are really good. Delicious, thanks Sharla. S: You're welcome

  • This is how close it's getting

  • Oh my gosh.

  • Hello everybody just a quick good night before I go to sleep. We are back at the hotel

  • The matsuri was insane

  • I got some dinner. My dinner is watermelon, and I also got two figs that were on special

  • So that's also for dinner. Oh, look at this fig. It looks like a how do you say it demogorgon from uh

  • Sharla, across the room: It does! E: It does

  • It does look like a demogorgon from Stranger Things

  • Luxury. Okay, good night guys. Bye

  • Hey guys, we're in the car now.

  • It's the next day and we're heading to a place called Mito in Ibaraki and we just got some breakfast at the konbini

  • So my breakfast is a little strange. I got a sausage

  • Very nice. I also got some

  • salad sticks with some sauce to dip it in. Which looks pretty good.

  • And also this is one of my favorite things. I'm so glad they had it. It's

  • Daifuku, so mochi and white bean on the inside with a whole grape

  • S: It sounds so good E: It's so so good. Seriously. Also, we're on the way to a

  • A beautiful garden. Apparently it's one of the top three?

  • Top three most beautiful gardens in Japan and then we're gonna go get some lunch. First of all, it's sausage time

  • It's pretty good

  • E: 7.50 out of ten. Emma reviews sausages, that's my new channel S: Sausage review

  • So I have the grape daifuku and I'm gonna give it a go

  • and see if I can bite into the grape because it's like deep in there

  • That's so good but so juicy

  • S: Clearly. My God was that all from the juice? E: It's all from the juice. Yeah, that's all the juice.

  • S: That is the biggest grape I have ever seen E: It's huge. BAM.

  • [airplane noises]

  • So we've made it to Kairakuen, it's super beautiful it's really well-kept

  • The meaning of Kairakuen, it's actually a place that was built in 1841 or 2

  • By the Tokugawa family, and Kairakuen actually means like a park to be enjoyed by everyone

  • So they built this in order to have people come together and enjoy the park together

  • So there's a lot of palm trees everywhere and apparently this place. I think it has a plum festival

  • When the season is here, I think a bug landed on my lip

  • There's a little glimpse of what it looks like during plum blossom season.

  • It's gonna be a - it's kinda like sakura, but a little bit different, and the trunks are different.

  • Oh, I want to be here in the right season

  • Okay, I've just got my ticket, and I'm heading to Koubuntei

  • Which I think is just just over there

  • Now, Koubuntei is so beautiful because it has so many different rooms that are matching

  • the kind of gardens that they have outside

  • Where they have all of these different rooms dedicated to different blossoms or different plants, which is super beautiful

  • Okay.

  • Alright.

  • I'm okay.

  • Look at this view.

  • Okay

  • So we just drove a few minutes away. And now we're going to a cafe. We're gonna go have some lunch

  • Have a nice view of the lake

  • But also this is actually gonna be our last stop in Ibaraki before we head to the airport and go to Hokkaido.

  • My gosh, they have swans and koi look at all of these guys. Hello!

  • I touch you

  • Oh I gave him a touch.

  • I can literally touch them, it's freaking me out

  • I got you, I got you

  • Yeah!

  • Okay, so we're just getting lunch at the cafe and it's super beautiful the view is amazing of the lake

  • It's just a really peaceful atmosphere and I have got a beef bowl. Can't really see the beef because of all the salad, but there's some beef under here.

  • It's roast beef and then I also got a really cute dessert

  • I'm gonna give you a sneak peak of the dessert

  • But I'm gonna eat it later and I'll show you it but just a little sneak peek, isn't it adorable?

  • It's just like the swans that we saw outside. Here we go いただきます

  • Mmm it's got like a light dressing on it. It's a little sweet a little savory got my lotus fruit, my favorite.

  • Okay, so I'm just gonna dig in

  • I don't really know the best way to approach this because usually I just bite into a cream puff cream "pruff" with an 'r'

  • Cream pruff

  • Okay. So here's the custard on the inside looks so good and creamy

  • Ah, magical.

  • All right, that's it. We're on our way to the airport now and we're going to be heading to Hokkaido

  • But for now, we have to say goodbye to Ibaraki. It's been such a great trip. There's so many cool things to do here

  • It's so close to Tokyo and it's just been it's been relaxing. It's been fun
