  • thats right here is where our video for the day starts.

  • Let's start with some introductions of the characters in today's video.

  • Thats right here is the drift hunter elbow.

  • You may remember him from the video that linked up there on and You Are My name's Andy Burns on I'll Be Tagging Along and yeah, Andy here is, as you can tell, a spectacular musician.

  • So let's just enjoy this a little more as we wait.

  • Brief Stop fine dining.

  • I was really looking for to get ice cream, but they don't have any and this is a whole You know what?

  • I was really enjoying that music, So let's just get back to that highway against, like, less and less crowded.

  • So that's why people will race on the highway like might not say it's legal or they don't really do as much as back home like Canada to crack down on racing on the highway.

  • So it's just very interesting that it's way are in Japan's car mecca.

  • Welcome to Die Cocoa, 10 PM No.

  • 10:30 p.m. Ray Now and I am out in Diet Coke of Dole in Yokohama, area engines roaring away in the background today.

  • Today we're doing a car at sewed and I just couldn't be more excited.

  • I love cars In case you didn't know that my name is Norm and I love cars.

  • We'll talk about that in a minute.

  • For those of you who watched me regularly, you will know that I am into music Specifically, the suit got to Shamisen.

  • But before I got into the semi Sen I was really heavily into cards.

  • You see, when I first moved back to Japan, I bought myself A S 14.

  • Sylvia used to come out here as well as hit some of the tracks.

  • It was short lived and it was expensive.

  • My car life here in Japan ended very abruptly and somewhat seriously ill.

  • Leave something up here.

  • So this is the first time I have been back to this area since I had my drift car.

  • My God feels like token breath like I mean, like that.

  • And like most un corny, cheesy way, Boston really feels like it feels like how you would imagine an enemy about parts brought to life would feel like it is exactly like that.

  • But today elbow has brought me out here for the first time in probably what, seven or more years, and some of these guys get really serious, like me.

  • Show you the condition of somebody.

  • Check this out.

  • Like this guy right here.

  • Look at the look at the condition of his car.

  • Look at these headlights, for example.

  • I cannot be legal.

  • Look it down here on the roof.

  • There's a pretty good chance that he's rolled this.

  • Let me turn on the flashlight with my phone.

  • And sure, you get this.

  • This car has no rear bumper on.

  • This isn't even that surprising of a condition to see the cars in the guys who actually go to the circuit out to the tracks and practice drifting all the time.

  • A lot of the car's air just like this.

  • A lot of people, when they go to the circuit of drift, they actually take off the front and or rear bumpers just to minimize the damage they'll encourage on.

  • Look at this s 15 Sylvia right here.

  • Like he's basically just holding his bumper together with duct tape.

  • It's a somewhat familiar scene.

  • My old s 14 Sylvia also had a lot of duct tape I done of a mountain at one point and it got really, really narrow and in trying to retreat, I know ripping off the front bumper.

  • And before I could leave, I had to reattach the entire thing with tape.

  • It was it was a terrible experience, good memory.

  • Even the minivans like to get in on the action.

  • Maybe carry family car with stick.

  • Six speed.

  • This'd this great.

  • This is a the ultimate sleeper.

  • Norman Normie had, like Palladian switch cameras for, like, a minute or two.

  • And I just want to take this moment to tell you guys, Thanks for watching Video is really, really cool free norm out this incredible place.

  • But my Channel, which is a documentary series about Manny fastest Japanese car culture from the underground 15 street racing repulsion to the history books way.

  • Soothe really likes evos.

  • Even seven two.

  • Everywhere you look something, something, look at 11 over here with your moves, I really hope that you can kind of feel some compassion.

  • It's now about so much more than the cars.

  • It's about the people and the culture and like this amazing facet of Japanese society that it's kind of hidden from normal life and to be able to experience it, be able to see what it's like.

  • This'll all of this, 100%.

  • This I love the area is a great place for car lovers alike to come and hang out and get to know each other and just enjoy the overall atmosphere and car culture of Japan.

  • Number of people out here design That's what I was saying.

  • This'll particular car is very, very interesting because unlike all the other in the show which have enemy designs which are very reminiscent of like current generation animate, this is like from the seventies.

  • Look at this, our snow.

  • You don't see this anymore.

  • This car from like the seventies national matching it with this period.

  • It shows so much thought has gone into such a work of art like this.

  • This labor of love, it is really, really it's moving for me.

  • You know, it's it's so cool to see cars like this work you can tell like the person who made it's just incredibly passionate.

  • And speaking of passion, this is why I wanted to come out here tonight with elbow.

  • In case you didn't get what he was talking about when he said Russia taht means tie, which means hurt shop means car is a car that hurts toe.

  • Look at They say that because these people who decorate their cars would like the enemy and everything like that.

  • Yeah, Japanese people call that you touch up.

  • Why don't we take a look at a few?

  • Okay.

  • Well, I'm pretty sure this doesn't count is a traditional eat Usha.

  • That's an idol.

  • So it's in the same realm.

  • While you will find some e Tasha like this one out here in Dicho.

  • Still, you're more likely to find them in areas like Akihabara.

  • In fact, they're quite common.

  • And also, I don't know how well you can see the perspective.

  • But look how tiny these thistles it.

  • So tiny.

  • Let's see what?

  • Hey, buddy.

  • What's up, man?

  • We've already had some drifters coming by.

  • Really cops.

  • No cops yet?

  • Yeah, that's the amazing thing about it is that police box is right there.

  • So over here is what's called a gallery and people will line up and just spectate.

  • This is really the world stage of ST.

  • If you could call in with activity like street drifting.

  • That's having like a world stage.

  • I mean, this is as legitimate.

  • Wait.

  • Good idea.

  • Since we opened today's video of the beautiful, beautiful guitar playing, I think we should end with that song because that song of a title no, uh, maybe title it about something related to this place way.

  • Go laden, gentlemen, I give you Hock Ozaki by Andy Burns.

thats right here is where our video for the day starts.
