  • My grandfather was a guitarist, and so I think I got my first guitar when I was, like, seven or something like that.

  • But after moving to Japan, I kind of just put down the instruments until I picked up shamisen and totally thought that picking this up since I could play guitar was like, It's a string instrument.

  • It's gonna be all right.

  • I got a pack up, the semi thin.

  • Now the shamisen is just kind of held together by these joints here.

  • And each one of these has a corresponding wooden block.

  • Line it up, slide it in and lock.

  • Each bank has its own little space right there within the case.

  • I didn't know how much work it takes to put away and start the show.

  • A lot of people ask like, you know, I want to get a show me saying Where should I start?
