  • Please welcome 10-year-old hip-hop dancer Alyson Stoner.

  • [APPLAUSE AND CHEERING]

  • [MUSIC PLAYING]

  • I'm still trying.

  • I'm still trying.

  • Congratulations on the video, best video of the year.

  • Yes.

  • That was very exciting.

  • [APPLAUSE AND CHEERING]

  • I'll bet it was.

  • Yes, it was.

  • It was.

  • And so they brought you up on stage,

  • and you were with Missy and all of her glam crew.

  • Yeah.

  • The director actually helped me up.

  • And I was like, oh my gosh, I'm actually onstage,

  • actually with Missy Elliott.

  • I know.

  • He was holding like Emmanuel Lewis or something.

  • You were being held up like a little puppet.

  • I was waiting for you to start talking.

  • Fall.

  • Yeah, or fall, yeah.

  • But that must've been exciting to be there.

  • Oh, yeah.

  • And so you met Justin Timberlake.

  • I did.

  • Wasn't that exciting?

  • Yes.

  • He actually leaned over, and he told me-- he goes, one day,

  • Alyson--

  • or he didn't say my name.

  • But--

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Go ahead, embellish.

  • That's good.

  • Embellish the story.

  • He said my name.

  • He said, one day, Alyson, one day

  • that's going to be you up there.

  • And I was like, oh, I hope.

  • I can't wait to get up there.

  • And then just an hour later he was right.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • He's psychic, I'll tell you.

  • So teach me whatever you can, because I'm always

  • trying to get hip.

  • Oh, OK.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • So to get hip--

  • Yes.

  • --you will need to wear one of these.

  • Oh.

  • All righty then.

  • [APPLAUSE AND CHEERING]

  • Just like mine.

  • Come on.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • That works for you.

  • It's A-OK.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • I don't know.

  • I don't have a mirror.

  • Just, let's go.

  • OK.

  • So the first move I'm teaching you is the Harlem Shake.

  • Right.

  • And you shake your shoulders.

  • And then you pull up.

  • Pull up.

  • I just did.

  • Do it again?

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • And then shake again.

  • [LAUGHS]

  • Don't laugh at me when you're teaching.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • I'm feeling hip already.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Go ahead.

  • So you're shaking, and then you pull up.

  • Yeah.

  • Uh-huh.

  • And then to get real hip--

  • Uh-huh.

  • [LAUGHS] Don't mock me.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Yeah?

  • You dust it off.

  • Oh, I know how to dust it off.

  • Dust it off, yeah, So add that.

  • Yeah.

  • And then dust it off.

  • Oh, OK.

  • Did I dust it too soon?

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Well--

  • And you just keep your legs completely

  • still while you're on the dance floor like that?

  • Well, you can go like that, but hip hop

  • is fun because you have your own style to it.

  • Right.

  • So OK, then let me just try to see your style.

  • Go ahead and do what you do.

  • Well, like another step I'll show you is--

  • OK.

  • OK?

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • But another step--

  • We're trying to be patient and understanding today.

  • I know I'm old, but go.

  • OK.

  • So in the video, I do the little dance that

  • was choreographed by High Hat.

  • High Hat, sure.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Old buds, right?

  • Don't forget to smile.

  • Well, I never see anybody smile.

  • And they're all angry.

  • Well, if you--

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • If you mess up, they don't really pay attention

  • to all of the body movements.

  • They pay attention to your face.

  • All right.

  • So you can go, hi--

  • All right.

  • So take your two hands, arms, and you press forward.

  • Yeah, that's the move I like that you do.

  • OK, and then the legs go like the twist.

  • And when you're going like that, it goes out or in?

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • You're doing great.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • Well, thank you.

  • So you're going the same direction.

  • So when you go in with your legs,

  • your arm goes in like that.

  • And then you do three, and then you pull forward.

  • Uh-huh.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Forward, then switch legs.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Pull forward, and then switch legs.

  • And do it again.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Come on!

  • Other arm.

  • Other way.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • Yes.

  • Now pull forward.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • I feel like I'm the Karate Kid right now.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • All right, let's have some music.

  • Let's put this together.

  • [HIP-HOP MUSIC PLAYING]

  • Harlem Shake.

  • (SINGING) [INAUDIBLE].

  • Yeah, and then the six step.

  • [CHEERING]

  • Get with me now, six step.

  • (SINGING) [INAUDIBLE] flip it, reverse it.

  • [INAUDIBLE]

  • To the rhythm!

  • [CHEERING]

  • Ah!

  • [APPLAUSE]

  • Now you hold my legs up now.

  • [APPLAUSE AND CHEERING]
