  • - Hey, my name is Malcolm.

  • I'm a bartender living in Los Angeles.

  • I'm spending today trying to figure out

  • which of these 5 people is actually drunk.

  • (Mellow background music)

  • - So usually the number one thing you look for

  • to find out somebody is like,

  • really drunk,

  • is the eyes.

  • If they're glossed over,

  • that'd probably be a good indication,

  • look a little sleepy.

  • Another thing would be,

  • how loud they're talking.

  • 'Cause sometimes just from being drunk

  • we get louder

  • 'cause you get excited.

  • Seeing if they repeat themselves.

  • Try to ask them maybe the same question twice,

  • see if they give a different answer.

  • (Percussion music playing)

  • - Hi Angel, how are you?

  • - [Angel] I'm good, hold on,

  • your name's Malcolm?

  • - [Malcolm] My name's Malcolm.

  • Is it Angel or Angel?

  • - It's Angel.

  • - Got it! Want to make sure.

  • All right Angel,

  • where you from?

  • - I'm originally from the Bronx.

  • - The Bronx? What part of the Bronx?

  • - I didn't live there

  • for that long so, - No, okay.

  • - I couldn't figure it out.

  • - No worries.

  • - Now I live in Sunny Los Angeles, California.

  • - How long have you been here?

  • - Like,

  • it's been like 5 years almost.

  • - What part of LA do you live in?

  • - I'm in South Central.

  • I like it here

  • but I'm moving in August

  • and that's-- - Where you going?

  • - Hollywood.

  • - Nice. That's not too far from me,

  • I'm in Miracle Mile.

  • - Okay. - Yeah.

  • So,

  • are you saying

  • you're going to come over

  • or what are you saying?

  • - I'm definitely come try to kick it.

  • I want to be apart of this group chat

  • and like be friends with you guys after this.

  • - That's a group chat

  • where we talk about Matt being like,

  • "Is he cute, is he not, we don't know?"

  • - He's got like a real adorable puppy vibe.

  • Like, I feel it. - Yeah.

  • - Where was the last bar you went to

  • before we all got locked inside?

  • - The last bar I went to,

  • it was probably like West Hollywood.

  • - All right Angel,

  • thank you.

  • I think I'm gonna take Matt.

  • - Am I cute?

  • (laughing)

  • Juliet oh Juliet,

  • where for art thou?

  • All right, sorry.

  • I'm ready for the questionnaire.

  • - All right.

  • So Matt, where do you live in?

  • Where are you quarantined right now?

  • - I thought you were going to ask me where I'm from?

  • I was excited to tell you, Malcolm.

  • - I'm gonna ask that next,

  • it's not the same order every time.

  • - Sorry sorry, sorry.

  • I'm in Chinatown, Los Angeles.

  • - How long you been in Chinatown?

  • - That's 3 years now.

  • - All right, where are you from Matt?

  • - New York,

  • nut dream tomato, my guy.

  • I grew up in New York,

  • lived there for a bit

  • then moved to New Jersey,

  • the tri-state jump.

  • but yeah, lived to there,

  • moved to...

  • What was the question?

  • - I said no, I said,

  • when'd you leave the East Coast?

  • - 2016.

  • - Oh okay.

  • Then you came right out here?

  • - Right to LA.

  • I called my mama, I said,

  • "Mama I made it.

  • I'm in LA.

  • I'm in Sherman Oaks

  • and I see an In-n-Out Burger."

  • I said mom,

  • "I have made it." (laughing)

  • And she said lose my number.

  • - You go home for the holidays?

  • Wow, Carolina is so bored

  • that while we're talking

  • she looks like she's watching--

  • - No,

  • I'm like really sleepy.

  • - All right Matt,

  • what's your drink of choice?

  • - G and Ts

  • - G and Ts?

  • You should try a Tom Collins sometime.

  • - What is that?

  • - It's just lemon,

  • little bit of simple syrup

  • and gin,

  • topped off with soda.

  • It's really good.

  • It's a good summer drink too.

  • What are you drinking today?

  • - Oh, Bailey's.

  • A little B Irish cream

  • for my boy Irish.

  • (Laughing)

  • - That's definitely not.

  • That's a filthy lie.

  • Nobody just drinks Bailey's.

  • - In coffee?

  • Are you f,ing kidding me?

  • - Oh, with coffee okay.

  • You just said, "Just Bailey's",

  • so I was like damn,

  • that's wild.

  • That's a wild-- - No, but you asked me

  • what the alcoholic beverage was.

  • (laughing)

  • - Yeah, I'm just sipping on that cream,

  • straight out of the bowl like my cat.

  • - There you go.

  • Do you really have a cat?

  • - Mm hmm, I don't know where Bean is.

  • - All right Bean,

  • I feel like you're rare and ready to go.

  • If I leave you in the box anymore

  • it's gonna be a catastrophe.

  • - Hi Malcolm.

  • - What's up Mei?

  • Okay.

  • Where are you guys?

  • - Echo Park,

  • I think.

  • - So where are you from?

  • - That is a really hard question.

  • So I grew up in Illinois

  • and then I moved--

  • - What part?

  • - Outside Chicago.

  • - And then where after Illinois?

  • - Then I moved to Washington.

  • Then I moved to Milwaukee.

  • Then I moved to LA.

  • Then I moved to Philly.

  • Then I moved back to Seattle.

  • Then I moved back to LA.

  • - Wow. Where'd you go to school in all that?

  • - Yeah, so I went to University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

  • Then I went to Santa Monica College.

  • Then I went to Temple University.

  • And now I'm doing online through Penn State.

  • I can't stay in one spot.

  • If you can't tell.

  • - Wait so how?

  • Are you getting multiple degrees

  • or is this all,

  • like what's this in the pursuit of?

  • - No I literally go to school

  • for like one semester

  • and then like nope over it.

  • And then I move across the country.

  • - Wait are you kidding?

  • You literally

  • All these schools are undergrad degrees?

  • - Yeah. (laughing)

  • Yeah, I just turned 21.

  • I literally like I have...

  • (laughing)

  • - You know what,

  • I'm skipping you.

  • This is definitely not.

  • I'm not dealing with this nonsense.

  • - As in I'm being honest.

  • I don't understand why you won't.

  • Malcolm, Like can we talk?

  • What's our beef?

  • Like why are you mad?

  • - if you show me an ID that says you are 21,

  • I will Venmo you 50 bucks.

  • (upbeat music)

  • - No, are you serious?

  • I'll show you right now.

  • Oh my god. Hold on.

  • No, no, no.

  • Wait, wait, wait.

  • Where's my ID? Where's my ID?

  • Where's my ID.

  • I'm not gonna lose 50 dollars.

  • Oh my god.

  • Where's my wallet?

  • NO I found it! I found it! I found it!

  • - Yeah, if she can't find it.

  • Where's the date?

  • Where's the date?

  • Oh my god!

  • You are so young!

  • Put your Venmo in the chat.

  • You just won 50 bucks.

  • I mean it.

  • I'm recording on my phone

  • or else I'd send it.

  • - All right, so wait,

  • you just turned 21,

  • so where did you go

  • when you turned of age to go out?

  • - No where,

  • it's quarantine baby. - Oh, I'm sorry.

  • - I just literally just turned 21.

  • - Well Mei, it was nice to meet you.

  • Happy birthday, I'm so sorry that you didn't

  • get to celebrate it on the day,

  • but you're going to have a great time.

  • - It's okay,

  • I love you so much.

  • Thank you for chatting.

  • - No problem. All right,

  • let's go, Irish. - Nude, say it back.

  • - No. No.

  • That's rule no. 1:

  • don't tell boys you love them when you're 21.

  • Next video.

  • - I'm gay.

  • I can tell boys whatever I want.

  • - Oh sorry,

  • do not tell girls you love them

  • when you're 21 either.

  • Do not tell anybody.

  • - All right Irish. - What's going on bro?

  • - Now you seem to be

  • the cool, calm, collected one of this group.

  • - Definitely.

  • I'm Libra all the way through man.

  • I just wanna be chill.

  • - All right.

  • What you drinking today?

  • - I bought some Milagro

  • right before quarantine started,

  • so I just threw that in

  • with some orange sweets tea

  • and now we're here.

  • - Where are you guys quarantined at?

  • Where are you?

  • - Actually I was going to say Echo Park, Mei?

  • Yeah, I'm on El Dorado.

  • Anyway.

  • - I have no clue what street I'm on.

  • It's not my apartment.

  • - Got you, got you.

  • Yeah, no.

  • I'm in Echo Park, like Filipino town.

  • - Oh, that's cool.

  • Where you from originally?

  • - San Diego, Carlifornia. Diego, baby.

  • - There you go.

  • Are your folks still down there?

  • - Yup.

  • - Have you seen them during quarantine

  • or have you been sticking,

  • staying up there the whole time?

  • - My dad came up a couple weeks ago.

  • I'm worried.

  • I don't know if I have it or not

  • and I know he still sees like my grandma and grandpa

  • and stuff.

  • So, we just kind of talked to each other like in the street.

  • It was weird,

  • like it was weird as,

  • 'cause that's my dad

  • and we couldn't get closer.

  • - All right, I think.

  • So this is like an easy going conversation,

  • just chilling,

  • there's nobody being mad at each other

  • like the other ones.

  • - Carolina Reynoso, lets go.

  • - Hi.

  • (laughing)

  • Hi.

  • (laughing)

  • - Oh, we're already starting

  • with the being really drunk.

  • Okay, got it. - Hi.

  • - Here we go,here we go,

  • here we go with the faking.

  • - Carolina or Carolina?

  • How do you say it?

  • - Do you speak Spanish?

  • - I do speak Spanish, yes.

  • - So you could say Carolina.

  • - Your room is definitely the coolest set up

  • out of everybody's,

  • I see you got a lot going on.

  • - Thank you so much.

  • - Where are you from Carolina?

  • - Okay, so I move around like Mei,

  • but I'm primarily in Orange County.

  • - What part of Orange County?

  • - So I've lived in Placentia,

  • Yorba Linda,

  • Anaheim. - All right. So like all over.

  • - I've also lived in Downtown.

  • I've lived in Tijuana.

  • - Do you have family in Tijuana?

  • - I do.

  • Just my grandma - That's pretty good.

  • and one of my aunts right now.

  • - All right.

  • What's your drink of choice?

  • - Okay so,

  • they call me

  • "Tequila Carolina"

  • 'cause I love tequila.

  • - I hope that's your Instagram handle.

  • Please tell me that's--

  • - Uh no, I can't.

  • My dad doesn't have an Instagram,

  • but he has spies,

  • so like he watches me.

  • #Latinodad.

  • But no, but like for real.

  • So tequila,

  • but the thing is I ran out

  • like a couple weeks ago

  • so I only have- - just go get some.

  • - No.

  • - Have you not left the house in 3 months?

  • - No, I was just at Trader Joe's.

  • (laughing)

  • - They have tequila.

  • They have tequila at Trader Joe's.

  • - Yes but I don't have room

  • in my fridge.

  • (laughing) So I had to get

  • It's over, I have

  • Tennessee Whiskey♪♪

  • So I have that.

  • I'm drinking whiskey.

  • - Where are you quarantined?

  • - Beverly Hills, Carlifornia.

  • - Whoa.

  • Look at you.

  • You have roommates?

  • - I have one, yeah.

  • - All right.

  • So I've looked over my notes.

  • I've thought a lot about this.

  • This is the first time I've ever had to decipher

  • if somebody was actually drunk or not

  • because usually at a bar you can tell,

  • pretty easily who is.

  • So,

  • I'm feeling like there's three of you

  • who really played it up.

  • One of you

  • who kinda like played it chill,

  • who still might not be drunk.

  • So I'm gonna--

  • first crossing off

  • and I don't think this is probably the wrong move

  • because she's an actress,

  • I got to cut off Carolina

  • because she's just trying be in a role,

  • you know acting,

  • trying to do something for her real.

  • Matt was too chill

  • and so I think he's not it either.

  • Angel he was the third toughest,

  • but I'm going to say it's not him.

  • And that came down to Mei and Irish for me

  • and I feel like what happens when you drink,

  • you have like fun, easy conversations.

  • And the easiest fun conversation I had

  • was with Irish.

  • Maybe that's just

  • 'cause he's just a chiller

  • and he's dope,

  • but I'm gonna guess it's cause he's a little tipsy

  • and that's my final answer.

  • (banging)

  • - [Offscreen Voice] All right, will the drunk person

  • raise their hand,

  • make yourself known?

  • - Aye yo sis, what's up.

  • - Damn it. (beep)

  • Angel.

  • Almost said it,

  • he was the one

  • I was worried.

  • All right.

  • I should have known.

  • It was all tough picking it

  • because I think also knowing that four people

  • were faking it.

  • And then ultimately I just went with Irish

  • because he told a story about his dad.

  • I feel like people divulge details about their lives

  • to you when they're a little drunk.

  • So I thought, you know what,

  • go with that one.

  • Maybe I just liked him the most

  • and so I picked him as the drunk guy.

  • (mellow music)

- Hey, my name is Malcolm.
