  • I don't know what to do...AH!

  • Alright, we're done!

  • Don't dance guys!!

  • DON'T DANCE.

  • I'm actually really bad at this...

  • Oh no there are too many cars!

  • Oh no, it's like a meme!

  • Where's the delete!?!?

  • Oh well!

  • It's complete!

  • How cute~~~~~.

  • It's some kind of Mimei...Meme...

  • Meanwhile...

  • Back at home...

  • But did you STUDY YET ?!?!?!

  • I'm back!

  • I'm so happy I got to hang out with Mimei

  • but if I don't start studying soon

  • I'm going to be so screwed.

  • So, talking about my studies,

  • I mentioned it before but

  • I kind of wanted to share

  • what it is exactly that I'm studying for

  • so let's talk a little bit about that now.

  • I explained in a previous video as well,

  • but MEXT, part of Japan's government

  • granted me a scholarship to attend grad school.

  • So I'm kind of like a student...er...

  • eitherway I'm at a University

  • living as a student again.

  • In terms of what I'm studying though,

  • to put it frankly,

  • I'm actually studying for the entrance exam.

  • So like, I'm already a student here

  • but I still need to take the entrance exam.

  • It's a bit of a paradox.

  • So let me try to explain,

  • So I'm currently a 'research student'.

  • Japan's gov't has 4 of these MEXT scholarships

  • and I'm currently on the 'Research Student' scholarship

  • which is used for graduate level school.

  • So it's like, you can be a research student

  • at a graduate school level.

  • There are two ways to do this.

  • The first is,

  • you stay as a research student for 2 years.

  • Pick your own theme or topic

  • and you can really do whatever

  • you create a project, like a report or thesis paper

  • and audit relevant classes

  • in order to help your project.

  • That's one way you can do it

  • but there's another way

  • that goes a step past this level.

  • That's what I'm trying to do, personally.

  • So, you audit classes, learn the ropes,

  • decide on which department you like best

  • and then take the entrance exam for that department.

  • That's the second track

  • which is what I'm trying to do!

  • The entrance is exam is at the end of August

  • so I really only have one month.

  • I have to do it all in Japanese

  • take the regular exam,

  • and try my best to pass.

  • You may not be able to see this but,

  • I picked Business Administration / Management

  • So, I'm studying Business Administration.

  • In New York I had some experience

  • in business, er, working as a manager.

  • I worked as a director for a few companies in New York

  • but this is like,

  • how do I conceptualize that in Japanese,

  • take the test,

  • and show that I can do it in Japanese, too.

  • I mean, if you guys can help

  • I'm a little confused how to go about this

  • or the best way to study for it.

  • If you don't just know all of this background knowledge

  • it's really hard to pass the test

  • so in addition to this like..overview of Japanese business textbook

  • I also have Akira Ikegami's books on Japanese economics,

  • since I should know more about Japan's economy, too.

  • Plus, I have these books that were really popular

  • that talk about companies that take on English in the office

  • Because, if I pass the exam,

  • I hope to do my own research

  • about Japanese businesses who are integrating English

  • into their offices

  • and hopefully also write a thesis on that.

  • Eitherway, I've read these.

  • But for Japanese Business Management...

  • whether it's graduate or undergraduate level,

  • let me know if you have good Japanese textbooks.

  • I'm going to get crazy with my studies!

  • and really just dive right in.

  • So my videos may be more about Japan

  • while i'm studying :).

  • Well, I mean, I only have a month

  • so just bare with me.

  • As I obsess over studying a little bit.

  • I mean whatever,

  • you guys are studying too, right? Er no?

  • Either way, that's what I'm up to.

  • Studying Japanese

  • Business Administration

  • LET'S DO IT!!!

  • So that's all for today!

Hey Guys!
